Maybe David Geffen will change that. Hopefully Pat Riley figures out a way to get Blake Griffin to south beach.

How long could it be before Blake Griffin wants in on a better team?

Probably as long as it took LeBron.

Three seconds? :dopey: Nah I'd be surprised if he stays there that long, because Cleveland was actually a good team when Lebron was there. I'll be getting up early to watch the Miami vs Lakers game tomorrow, should be a good one.:D

The Rockets will play every other day this week, all at home. Wizards tonight, Heat Wednesday night, and then Paulie's Raptors on New Year's Eve. The Rockets may be entertaining the option to trade Yao Ming for a young and talented player in the future. Then again, I read it may also be possible for the team to sign Yao for a short-term contract deal.

I have no idea if Yao can return to being in good health, nor what team would want him even if to get him back to playing healthy.

We're alarmingly close to our download limit, but I'll be trying to watch the Raptors-Grizzlies game live today with NBA League Pass. If I was the Rockets, I'd definitely trade Yao, they need someone healthy and able.

They are considered and NBA game?

:P

Generally, only way to trade someone like that is in the last year of their contract, when the taker will use it as a salary dump for their (salary)cap.

Or maybe Blazers will want him. We can have the most talented Bench Big 3 in the NBA. Yao, along with Brandon Roy, Greg Oden(shut up Omnis) will form the triangle that commands respect from all the gatorade boys in the NBA arenas!

Raptors lost, Bargnani is out with injury again, so bugger it, Raptors aren't heading to the play-offs this year, and certainly won't have a winning season.

My Rockets slipped up a few times and stubbed their toes, but they put away the Wizards at home 100-93. GREAT news- we're at .500! BAD news... the Heat come to H-Town on Wednesday. Want to get to .500? Red Rising will have to EARN it when the big bad boys of South Beach come to town. I'm queasy about this game. Stranger things have happened, but I don't like my Rockets' chances of upsetting the Heat at home. We'll see what happens on Wednesday...

Wow. Blazers beat Utah, at Utah.

Blazer win in Utah is so rare, and especially after considering how fallen apart my team is, with the game up for grabs, I didn't even bother watching the fourth quarter. I was in complete disbelief when I heard the final score. :crazy:

I've HATED Jazz fans for awhile now. Usually, it's the stuff they boo at. I encourage homerism, but not when the play, foul is about 1000% obvious that you are wrong.

Tonight, Jefferson's ill-advised foul results in Rudy(our guard) goes flying, and a headbutt from Jefferson. Utah crowd boos.

Now, I don't blame Jefferson. This is a basketball game, stuff happens. And from what I've seen, Jefferson is not a dirty player, especially for being a power forward. But their fans, booing at the player who just got hit by a freight train, a freight train that had absolutely no shot at making the play?

I wasn't fan of Larry Miller either. Till this day, he still is the only owner who started trash talking with the opposing team player during a game. I'm sure Cuban's done it, but Miller's the only one I've seen do. :lol:

Very classy organization, but with exception of the late-owner, and fans who act like idiots at their games. 👎

Did any of you see highlights of that 75-foot basket Gilbert Arenas knocked down last night or two nights ago? The ball hit the rim, then the shot clock, and then down the net! Crazy!

Man I love stomping the Lakers!! Spurs bounce back after a demoralizing loss on the road in Orlando last Thursday night (where the Majic caught us on the tail end of a back to back) we put a smack down on the Lakers. A great second half that put a clamp on the Lakers' shots, get Kobi frustrated and hand them their 3rd straight loss. Spurs win by 15 and hold LA to 82 (only 38 second half points allowed). Now we have the Mavs in Dallas on Thursday to continue this stretch of tough games over the next few weeks.

Ah the many ups and downs of supporting a lesser team.:lol: After getting hammered by the Grizzlies yesterday, perhaps due to a lack of Andrea Bargnani, the Raptors beat Dallas today, without Bargnani or Calderon!:lol: Looks like rookie Ed Davis had a big night, 12 rebounds, 3 steals, 3 blocks and 17pts. However, Bayless sprained his ankle pretty badly by the look of it, so add that to the Raptors inury list. Stojakovic hasn't even played a game yet, Weems has been out a while. My goodness, the Raptors have been spending too much time with Greg Oden!

I noticed because I have been betting on Boston Celtics, that they are behind on points in the first half nearly every time they play. Is it some type of gameplan and then kill the opp. in the second half? :D

I don't know if it's common, but it's certainly not unusual. Better team often just turn it on, when it counts. Fans of consistently losing teams should know this. They hang on, hang on, get blown out by teams like the Celtics in the third, fourth quarter.

This is a God-forsaken shame. How the hell can the Rockets just NOT show up in the second half? I saw nothing but bricks and pathetic free throw shooting. We end up losing 125-119 to the Heat. So now, we got the Raptors coming up on New Year's Eve. So we're back to being a good team... with a losing record. If they play this bad on New Year's Eve, we'll go back to being deeper below 0.500. We NEED a win on Friday to give us something to look forward to with a brutal January coming up. I know there's no shame in losing to the Heat, but we could have played a hell of a lot better than what we ended up doing in this game. I stopped watching once we were down by 12 late.

This s:censored: needs to f:censored:ing improve if they are to have any hope of remaining lethargic.

The Raptors need to beat Houston John, not the other way around.:P

How do you avenge a loss after giving a terrible loss? Take it out on Memphis, that's how. We won 103-87. We were up 34-13 after the first quarter as the Grizzlies struggled to score. We just put the hammer down and got it done. The 4th Quarter was a bit shaky for the red boys, but we lead from start to finish. A stupid moment in the game came when Rudy Gay shoved Luis Scola from behind, earning him a Flagrant-2 foul (and perhaps a suspension from the NBA) and an ejection.

I'm also sad that Yao Ming is done not only for this season, but perhaps maybe the end of his career. How about the Heat- 11 or so straight wins. They come to Toyota Center for their ONLY visit on December 29th!

I'm not sure what it is, but even if we (Grizz) have similar records to Houston, Houston always has our number and whoops us. It must be Lowry getting his revenge...good game. 👍

Sorry, Paulie... had to take down your boys. The Rockets won 114-105 at Toyota Center to finish 16-16. Up next... a brutal January 2011 to attempt to go above .500 for the first time this season. First five games of 2011 for the Rockets this season:

* at Portland (Sunday)
* at Denver (Monday)
* Portland (Wednesday)
* at Orlando (Friday)
* Utah (next Saturday)

Having an injured Chuck Hayes isn't going to make things any easier. It needs to be all hands on deck for my Rockets to keep a good thing going. That's all, I'm out! Happy new year, GTP peoples! :D

Damn you John!:lol: But that's to be expected when half the Raptors are out on injury, if you don't include Bayless who left the game early with his ankle, the Raptors had 3 subs to play with, THAT'S how many players are injured. Derozan had 37pts though! Congrats on your win though.

So the Spurs over the last week have taken down the Lakers, Mavs and Thunder. Keeping all these teams to very low point totals. Spurs defense is back and in full effect! We're now 29 and 4 for the season. More than anyone here could have hoped for. Next week we have the Knicks at home and then go to Boston to face up with the Celtics and then to Indiana, with more tough games beyond that. It's really fun watching them play team basketball like we've gotten used to over the years. Once they stop moving the ball around they lose. Good defense and crisp ball movement have been the keys for these victories. Finally one of my teams is actually playing well. 👍

As much as I hate to say it (as a Rockets fan), it's going to be tough to top the Spurs this season. Even more painful that the best team in the NBA right now is only a few hours away from you. They're easily the best team in the Texas Triangle. My Rockets will have a back-to-back starting in Portland today, then at Denver tomorrow night. I sure hope we can go above .500 and stay there for as long as possible.

I believe the Blazers and Rockets will play each other twice this week(first one, tonight). Both teams are beat up, missing their best players due to injuries, but are at virtual tie for the last spot in the Playoffs.

I don't think the Rockets WANT to be anything but a losing team. I was tired and didn't get to see the game. However, we lost 100-85 at Portland. I guess Denver will slap us around tomorrow night to make our slow season even worse. Not the way to start the 2011 stretch of games. COME THE HELL ON, ROCKETS! DAMN!!! 🤬

Patty Mills had 14pts in that game with 5 steals and I think it was 4 assists, wicked. Unfortunately the Raptors are really struggling due to injury, with Bargnani, Bayless, Weems, Stojakovic and Evans all out. Derozan is stepping up but there's only so much you can do without your star players.

Yeah, I was checking the score during the game's second quarter. I had to do the double take when I saw who the leading scorer for us was. :lol:

Rockets are now doing their 2010 Houston Texans impressions by failing again. This is a freaking shame. I know we played at Portland last night and at Denver tonight, but considering going 16-16 to enter 2011, we've already failed to two great teams. And if they're to have any hope of getting through January with a good record, falling 113-106 at Denver is NOT the way to go. We're now 16-18 on the year in a critical point. You CAN'T lose to your own conference teams if you're to have any hope of becoming any sort of contender. Rockets need slaps in the face and cold water because this s:censored: is unacceptable after finishing the 2010 part of the season fairly well. I take it we're a lock to lose every game this week until the Rockets finally step the hell up, am I right? Get off your asses and start winning again, damn it!!!

Then too, some people are saying that the Rockets really lack a real superstar to really make them contenders. There are two mindsets to this. Either a superstar has to be earned in a trade, or someone BECOMES a superstar for a team. A trade of Yao Ming will really make the Rockets wonder who'll they can get to really make a difference on one or both sides of the ball. I'm hearing if we trade Yao, we might lose Chase Buddinger and Jordan Hill. I still miss Carl Landry, who was a hell of a player in Rockets red.

Anyhow, tough January ahead, and we're already croaking. 0-2 to start the 2011 part of the season. How many more losses until the Rockets finally wake up (if they can)?
