Raptors have made a wierd trade, they got Jerred Bayless and Peja Stojakovic for Jarret Jack, David Andersen (Aussie, nooo!) and Marcus Banks. I thought Jack was doing well and showed good chemistry with his team mates, while small forward is well covered making Stojakovic's role unclear. Now who comes in for Bargnani as centre off the bench?
Heat also signed Dampier in the wake of losing Haslem to injury.

That was a funny trade, as the Blazers traded Jack for the rights to Bayless in '07?. Now they get traded for each other once again. :lol:

This trade was salary dumping for the Raptors, obviously. It's fairly well known that Stojakovic is in the last year of his contract, and if I remember correctly, Hornets unloaded dump truck full of money at him, so I'm sure Raptors are to clear huge cap room for the next season(by not resigning Stojakovic).

I love Jack. He is one competitive guy, and he takes shiitake from no one. He & Chris Paul are good friends, and Jack also had good relationship with Monty, who used to be assistant for the Blazers. I'd start pulling for them a little bit now, Blazers season's pretty much in the dumps. I still love the Spurs, too. Still my #2. 👍

My Rockets will try and snap their losing skid against the Warriors of Golden State. I will admit... I'm starting to like Golden State's new uniforms and colors more than the previous uniforms (not just because blue and gold are my "official" colors).

A much bigger match is tonight- Heat at Magic. The Heat have been in a funk a little bit. It will be time to see how the Heat respond even with Haslem in the lineup. Also, that black and silver team (San Antonio) will play at the Timberwolves to improve to a 12-game winning streak.

Enjoy tonight's games!

Spurs beat the Timbrewolves in OT! Spurs never lead in this game until 40secs left in OT. Minn was ahead at the end of regulation until they fouled SA on a three point attempt, which Neal made all three to tie the game. Not a well played game by SA, but the defense got them the game with Ginobli blocking the final chance for Minn. Ginobli is one of the best game closers in the league. 12 straight wins, best record in the NBA! Mavs come to town on Friday, and their playing well. Happy Thanksgiving basketball fans. :cheers:

Nice win for Houston btw John. 👍

Ginobili was my favorite player, couple of years ago. I hope he can stay healthy this season. 👍

The Internet was down last night, so I didn't get a chance to bounce on here talking about my Rockets. Yeah. So the Rockets held serve and got themselves a nice win. I don't think we EVER trailed in that game. We won 111-101 at home. Up next... going into NASCAR country to take on the Charlotte Bobcats.

Random chatter...
* As for the Spurs, sworn rivals and all... congratulations on your winning streak. Winning on the road in Overtime is ALWAYS something to feel good about.

* Then... there's the Heat. Rather than the Heat, they were more like a weak warm front to the Magic as the Magic took care of business at home.

* The Cavaliers probably don't need LeBron after all. In fact, they took care of the Bucks at home on a late shot. It almost seems like the Cavs totally don't miss LeBron at all. However, mark December 2nd on your calendar because LeBron comes home to his former NBA team. He will bring his band of men to Cleveland that night for what should be an epic encounter.

That's all. Happy Thanksgiving!

Since I was here last Toronto nailed the 76ers then lost to Boston in the same week they beat them- the NBA schedule never seems well structured.

The Rockets led at the half... couldn't do much anything in the second half. I stopped watching since we were down by at least 13 with a minute and a half to go in the game. We'll be back home on Sunday to start WINNING MORE THAN FAILING... but up against Oklahoma City.

It's been a tough season thus far, and I'm just frustrated we're starting the way we are. I'm already upset at my Texans. Just don't need any more favorite teams of mine to stumble so much.

On a different note, I learned this year's All-Star Game will be in Los Angeles. One of the frontrunners to play in LA for the All-Star Game has to include somebody like John Wall. Maybe someone from the Rockets who would be solid for All-Star consideration would include Luis Scola, Jordan Hill, or perhaps even Ishmael(?) Smith. Who else has impressed you this season?

Mav's stop the Spurs winning streak at 12 last night. So be it. We were due. Mavs went to a zone and clogged up the lanes in the second half and the Spurs couldn't adapt. We kept it close with outside shots but failed down the stretch and they pulled away in the 4th. Next up we go to New Orleans tomorrow night to try and return the favor to the only other team to beat us.

All Star potentials so far: John Wall, Russell Westbrook (from Okc) spring to mind of the others that don't normally get a notice. Who else?

I hate Dallas. Bunch of regular season overachievers. Damn shame they had to lose against Dallas, but I guess it's not as bad as losing to Miami. I hope San Antonio put those superstars in their place. :mischievous:

Every game feels like a must-win for the Rockets at this stage. Their complications aren't going to be suppressed when the Oklahoma City Thunder come to H-Town. You just have to keep playing hard at this stage of the season. Maybe you get fortunate and reel off a bunch of wins to maybe climb up the conference ranks or even go up to 8th or better in your conference (meaning better playoff chances). We're having a tough season, but we're not sorry. All three of the NBA's Texas Triangle teams are tough and talented.

You know, I might actually watch all of the Thursday night game as LeBron returns to Cleveland. That is going to be CRAZY when King James returns to northeastern Ohio.

Spurs get back in shape against NO this afternoon. After falling behind by 17 points at the break, Spurs come out and absolutely clamp down on the Hornets! Spurs score 28 in the 3rd while only give up 16 pts and score 37 in the 4th while only giving up 18 pts!! Thats the defense we're used to seeing from them. Down 17 at the half to win by 14!👍 Great win on the road. Next up they travel to the west coast for a late game against Golden State on Tuesday. I'm really liking seeing the composure from this team, indicative of a mature group of guys. Popovich is showing he still has what it takes to keep to veterans focused and the new guys involved and disciplined. I've following the Spurs since the days of the 'Admiral' and this is a well rounded group. Great outside shooting and stifling defense. When their on, their inside outside game is as good as and their play in the paint. Nice to see them back. Of course they won't get any pub from the media; which is exactly the way we like it. :)

I don't mind seeing the Mav's lose because it's so great to see Cuban go 'crybaby' on Nat TV. I hate when we lose to them! It's the worst loss, next to losing to the Lakers (which we've been on both sides of those games). Mav's won't go far as long as Dirk and Kidd are on that team. Dirk has no heart and Kidd has no patience. It always catches up to them. Oh well, we'll see them again.

Bend, but don't break. The Rockets played their butts off in taking down Oklahoma City 99-98. The lead changed on several occasions in this game. Battier and Jordan Hill were some of the big players helping our cause.

Up next for Red Rising- a trip to Dallas to take on the Mavericks. Time to see if we can keep this rock rolling tomorrow night...

I'm a Kidd hater. Everywhere he goes, he causes a lot of drama. On Dirk, while I like the man, in my book, Dallas gave up on the Championship when they decided to still build around Dirk after their loss to Miami in the Finals.

Spurs, I gotta give it to them. I thought they were done after last season. I thought Timmy was too old, Manu became too fragile. But so far so good. I hope they go far. 👍

From an epic close win at home... to taking one on the chin in Dallas. Rockets fall to 5-12 on the season with a 101-91 loss at the Mavericks. Our November is over as we now look to December. Here is a look at how brutal our schedule goes... we don't play a series of home games until December 11 (vs. Cleveland) and December 14 (vs. Sacramento). Our stretch of home games doesn't begin until December 27 when we wrap up the month and the year hosting Washington, Miami, and Toronto. Here are the Rockets' next five games:

* 12/1 - vs. Lakers
* 12/3 - at Grizzlies
* 12/4 - at Bulls
* 12/7 - vs. Pistons
* 12/10 - at Bucks

I would be surprised if the Rockets came away with a winning record in this stretch.

Spurs continue winning, in fact they are unbeaten on the road this year, and take down the Warriors in convincing fashion 118 - 98 in the first half of a back-to-back. Tonight its the Clippers in LA. Let's keep this road-streak going boys! FYI, the Lakers are in the middle of a 4 game slide, ripe for the pickin' Houston. Rockets need to punch them early tonight, just sayin' :sly:

(oh yeah......Duncan got a triple double last night. Only the 3rd or 4th time in his career, which seems weird)

God bless Shane Battier! Rockets won 109-99 on the heels of some great playing late along with Shane Battier doing most of the dirty work late. Maybe he was playing inspired since his alma mater was taking on Michigan State at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Still, we came from behind to beat the Lakers. If we had shown this effort all season long, we'd have more wins than what we have now.

ANY time you beat the Lakers, that's like beating Duke or North Carolina. We'll GLADLY take this win. Another sort of factor was the three-shot fouls that Lakers committed on us. We shown character in this game that should have been shown in our losses. That way, we'd have a better record and probably wouldn't be a Southwest Division doormat.

Hope the other 28 teams are doing well!

Raptors beat Washington, Ed Davis played his first game and played reasonably.

Edit: Actually Davis played really well, you guys should watch the Raptors vs Wizards game highlights, particularly the one on the Raptors site, there's some good stuff showing what Toronto are capable of.

Grrrr....Spurs lose to the Clippers (the freakin Clippers) who we've owned for the last 18 meetings dating all the way back to '06. Snaps the unbeaten-on-the-road streak and puts a third loss in the record. Horrible ball movement, bad shooting night, and general sloppy play accounted for the loss. Bonner who has been lights out never made a 3pt shoot, Parker who has kept the ball movement crisp and kept everyone involved was pulled early in the third quarter due to ineffectiveness. So be it. Still a game up on the Mavs in the SWC and the Timberwolves to play on Friday.

Nice win vs the Lakers John! 👍

Thanks, dude! Well... Heat at Cavaliers tonight on NBA on TNT! Strap in, folks. It's going to be one hell of a ride when LeBron returns to northeastern Ohio... in a different team's colors with a different cast of characters. LeBron will be even more an Antichrist if his Heat win, but a win for the Cavaliers will just jam it up LeBron's backside.

Heat at Cavs is EASILY the game of the night. I may just alternate between Texans at Eagles and this game tonight.

Hey, Paulie. Patty Mills got promoted to the backup point guard role. Armon Johnson, the original backup, also a rookie, he's been struggling as of late. He's the third string for now.

The Heat at Cavaliers was a very close game! Unbelievable! That is... if you consider a 118-90 rout a close game. The atmosphere was crazy. It was much closer in Oakland as the Phoenix Suns won 107-101 at the Warriors. Did I mention that I like the new retro-style uniforms, logo, and court for Golden State?

My Rockets will take on the Grizzlies in Memphis Friday night! Good luck to every other team playing on Friday!

The Rockets were on an offensive roll tonight. They handled the Grizzlies 127-111 in an offensive shootout by both teams. Some Rockets fans are starting to believe that we're getting the ship pointed in the right direction starting with the big win at home against the Lakers. We'll see if they REALLY do have things right again when they play at Chicago tomorrow night. It still doesn't help that we are still at the bottom of the Southwest Division, but perhaps we have found our way after a slow start.

It looks like the Spurs were going to get embarrassed at home to Minnesota... until the black and silver boys handled their business at home 107-101. Now the Timberwolves know how my Texans of the NFL feel when they can't seem to finish games.

Hey that's great news, I hope he can refine his game to become that bit better, so this is good stuff.

Woot, the Raptors are up to 8th and if you've seen any of their past few games, they're really beginning to look ominous, the players are beginning to play to their potential. They just downed a Durant-less Thunder, and the Durantless Thunder defeated Boston a few days ago.:D Good to see Ed Davis on court, he seems to be doing well.;)

It wasn't enough. The Bulls just pulled ahead in Overtime (after forcing Overtime) and ended up winning 119-116. Of course, had the Rockets made their f:censored: free throws, Overtime wouldn't have happened. The Bulls still managed to win the game. Damn shame, but that's basketball. Every loss just seems like more reason to be angered considering the start we've started. So I think we're... 7-13 now. Yay.

After that wonderfull comeback on Friday night against the T-wolves (down by 15 in the 4th, down by 10 with 8mins to play and win by 5 👍) the Spurs put a stomping on the Hornets last night. At one point they were up by 37pts! Everything shot was falling for the Spurs while the Hornets were content to put up outside shots most of the night. Pop gets coach of the month honors for November while the Spurs travel to the west coast for another game against the Warriors on Wedn. We need to continue to rack up victories while our schedule remains semi-soft. The second half of the season will see where we really are. Liking it so far.

Just when Raptors were starting to play well they go and get 2 large losses, bah!

T-Mac is back to Houston... in a different uniform. My Rockets will take on those boys from MoTown. Pistons at Rockets TONIGHT!

Good luck to all of your teams playing tonight!
