I gotta say not a big fan of the MAVS (SPURS BABY!) but they are playing some great ball. Hope to see them bring the trophy back home to Texas!

LOL PRICELESS! I laughed my butt off when that happen!

I did too. I saw that as a big turning point in the game. It killed LA's confidence. I don't much care for the Mavs either. My aunt, uncle, and cousins live there, but I hate Mark Cuban. They need to stop showing his ugly face on TV. It's just good to see a team from Texas doing well even if it isn't the Rockets, which I would prefer. It is so good to see the Lakers go down. I love to see them swept.

It is very bittersweet to see Phil Jackson go though. The NBA has lost its best coach.

Cant agree more. 👍 GO MAVS No wait... GO TEXAS lol

Damn. I got busy, and completely missed the end of the game.... or rather the exit of Phil Jackson. That actually speaks volume for me though. If this was Phil, in Chicago, I'd have put everything else on hold and finished watching the game. People just don't care for the Lakers.

Two notes from the Game 4 for me:

1) Bynum. When he fouled Barea in the fourth, I think it was Hubie Brown or somebody who sounded shocked & discouraged? I doubt that anybody who professionally analyze NBA games are that ignorant, so I'd like to say to him, save us the completely retarded lies. If anything, Bynum has cemented his status as the member of Bill Laimbeer Club. What a piece of 🤬

2) TV were talking about the bench scoring the whole time. I didn't think they gave enough credit to the offense & defense of Dirk Nowitzki. Gasol was shut down. Completely. Since Bynum has very limited offensive game, and Odom was non-existent as usual, by shutting Gasol down, it forced the game on the Lakers wing who could not hit a jumper to save their own lives.

Still hate you though, Dallas. ;)

Lakers 86 @ Dallas 122. Lakers lose series 4-0. Postgame coverage on Lakers.com. ....thanks for this update phone. Goddammit. :(

...Go Bulls.

Jason Terry and Peja S. were BALLIN'! And the Lakers... not so much. The reason why I resented the Lakers when they had their slump was because they're the Lakers. You can't keep a good team down for so long because the Lakers are used to coming back, and sometimes coming back strong. Well, even I should know not to never assume anything. Dallas (speaking as a Rockets fan) just wanted it more. Jason Terry was out of his mind cashing in three-point bombs at will. Losing 122-86 (correct score?) is NOT the way you want to go out if you're possibly coaching your final game. This game was like... "bye, Lakers! Don't let the door hit you on the butt!"

Damn. That was ugly, but beautiful if you're a Dallas fan! :)

Lakers suck. Phil Jackson should've retired last year. He lost his Zen and everything.

Memphis v. Dallas should be a good one. Maybe we'll see an '06 Finals rematch.

They really did play dirty at the end, 2 instant ejections, serves them right.

How about OKC? We should have clearer picture of the series after tonight.

I tell you one thing though, in my eyes, Memphis don't match up that well against Dallas. I think Dallas & Memphis has similar game, except Dallas does everything better. One edge I see in Memphis is (low)post scoring, but Dirk's post game has picked up much more I think.

I am surprised by Dallas, but after seeing the game yesterday, which was first of the series for me, I'm not overly surprised. Blazers defense rotate at what I consider an below average speed. Lakers? Just as bad, yesterday. Dallas can shoot lights out, we all know that. But leave them wide open, of course they can look like the all-time best shooting team.

I don't want to take away too much from Dallas. They are playing great, ball movement is what killed the Blazers & Lakers, which leaves the shooters wide open. Historically, jump shooting teams never get it done in the Playoffs. While I can see Dallas getting to the Finals, because I speculate Memphis defense won't be enough to stop the Mavs(stop, they could possibly slow them down), but they come up short on offense. OKC, I think someone like Brett/Vash who's followed them whole year would be more qualified to comment on, but I've never been too impressed with their defense, and offensively, like Memphis, I think they'll come up short, unless they get real hot, or outrun the Mavs defense.

But as soon as they hit Boston in the Finals, their defense should halt Dallas offense. Basically, I think the first team with (good)defense will shut down Mavs.

Miami's closing out the series when they get back home.

OKC is looking bad. Westbrook needs to share the ball more.

The game tonight between the Thunder and Grizzlies is a must win for the Thunder if they want a chance at winning the series. This Thunder team is too inexperienced and does not yet have enough grit to come back being down 3-1. The only players I could really see mentally staying in it down 3-1 are Kevin Durant, Nick Collison, and Kendrick Perkins and those three--that is assuming Durant were to not go ballistic and rip off monster games, which he is capable of--are not enough to carry the team to three straight wins.

The Thunder's defense can be very good and shutdown an opponent, but at times they make mistakes you would expect from inexperienced, young players. Even with Perk, the Grizzlies' frontline is still a complete handful for the Thunder. Perk will really need to push Gasol around and get him off his game. Ibaka, Collison, and whoever else is put on Z-Bo will need to clamp down and force difficult shots; Z-Bo is pretty much going to get his regardless of how good the opponents' defense is, but the more difficult those points are to get the better.

Rebounding is going to be a key to the game, primarily in limiting second chance points. In game one, Memphis had a good lead in second chance points. Turnovers were also a huge difference in that game, with Memphis scoring 15 more points off of ten more turnovers.

The Thunder have to limit mistakes in turnovers, especially turnover that lead to points. Not allowing Memphis offensive rebounds is also vital. OKC will also need someone other than Durant and Westbrook to step up and have a good game. Whether that is James Harden, Eric Maynor, or Serge Ibaka does not really matter, but at least one, preferably two, will have to step up; it is that or Nick Collison, Perk, Thabo Sefolosha, Nazr Mohammed, and Daequan Cook will have to contribute heavily. It would also help if the Thunder get to the line a few more times for easy point; I do not know what the Thunder shot from the line for the year, but early in the year there was talks of a historic team percentage. More than anything, the Thunder need to exert their will on the game and not let Memphis dictate what is going to happen; if the Thunder are able to play their game, then the Grizzlies are in trouble.

Easy enough huh?

Mostly straight up. Occasionally, a second defender will be ran at him.

Z-Bo is nasty. He has a sweet jump shot and he knows how to use his big body to his advantage.

And his frigging hands. His hands are amazing on rebounds & scoring around the basket.

Well, if Thunder is man-to-man on Zach, they should be letting Zach trying to beat the team, but shutting everybody else down. Obviously, it's not going quite that way.

It seems to me that teams generally lack defense these days, also defensive schemes. Maybe somebody like D'Antoni will get far in the Playoffs from now on. Just perfect moving the ball, and learn to shoot. I miss the days of MJ/Pippen Bulls & San Antonio Spurs, I tell ya.

The rules are different these days. During the Jordan era, defenders could get away with hand checking on the perimeter and all kinds of physical play inside. It was incredibly common for someone to get hit pretty hard driving the lane.

Today, much of that has been taken out by the league. Physicality definitely gets amped up come playoff time, but it is not near what it used to be.

I'd agree it is less physical, but I think that's just a tip of iceberg. If Karl Malone & Stockton still played, I think they'd win a Championship, because so many teams can't defend pick 'n' roll, or have any defenders willing to. They are pretty much forcing miss-match at will out there!

I was so happy that the Celtics opened the Boston Brick Factory.

Good thing Brett doesn't believe in decent sleep. Even after the triple O/T, will you be able to fall asleep?

You guys needed the handicap anyway. :sly:

I think sleep depends on the result. I am a wreck at the moment, completely on the edge of my seat.

Up by six, now just finish the game off. :deep breath:

We'll sell you the whole seat, but you'll only need the edge....[/monster truck guy]

At most sporting events, I have no issue with no seat. Standing up for a few hours during a game is not much to ask of a fan, especially after spending most of the week sitting at work.

Nasty shake and fade away by Durant to make the lead eight.

That was a great game! Hopefully OKC can come back strong at home. It's hard to believe they won after they played so terribly in the 1st. They usually play well there and have great fans.

Both team stealing home court advantage. Wow.

I couldn't do that. If I'm at baseball or basketball game, I gotta sit my fat 🤬 down! :D

Complete stomach punch to the Grizzlies and their fans in this one. It is a very tough loss to take. Memphis played really well and managed to keep their composure after blowing a big lead and force three overtimes.

Great job by the Thunder to get the win. I am leaning heavily towards seven games in the series with home court making the difference from here on out in the series.

Boston played dirty too, and cheated a bit even. Boston committed an offensive foul before Allen hit a 3, then because the whistle was a fraction late they still gave Boston the 3, WTF?! One incident of many.
