Jeremy Lin returned to New York City to take on his former team. We were cashing in threes like it was nothing. But wait... isn't that what the KNICKS do? Yeah. Only thing is that we hung plenty of threes on NYK. At one point, we led by as many as 27. The final tally was 109-96. Mr. Big-Nasty-Beard (James Harden) accounted for a double-double: 28 points and 10 rebounds. As for Jeremy Lin? He got himself 22 points on the night. Every game this week will all be home games before having to head up to Chicago to take on the Bulls on Christmas night. We got Philadelphia on Wednesday followed by hosting Memphis on Saturday night.

Elsewhere...

* Orlando drops Minnesota 102-93 in Orlando. Glen Davis had 28 points, and Kevin Love dropped 23 points on ORL along with 15 rebounds.

* The Los Angeles Clippers just keep on ballin'. Villain's boys won 88-76 in Detroit at the Pistons. Who the hell is going to stop the Clippers with the run they've been on?

* Oklahoma City was in a roar as the Thunder struck San Antonio hard. The black and silver boys couldn't beat the boys in blue as they fell 107-93.

* I mentioned Memphis earlier. They hosted Chicago and treated them to an 80-71 victory. Memphis is looking great so far this season.

Congratulations to all other winners up to and beyond the time of this post. Well, the only other game I didn't mention was Sacramento at Phoenix. It was 54-43 in favor of Sacramento at halftime. So congrats to the eventual winner of this game.

I love how the media keeps perstering Thibs about Rose.

Leave the coach alone so he can coach, and leave Rose alone so he can heal up. Sometimes I wish I can throw the entire media into a bonfire.

Ready for another night of NBA hoops? This is going to be a VERY busy Tuesday night. HOW busy? Check out tonight's matches:

* Toronto at Cleveland
* Atlanta at Washington
* Minnesota at Miami
* Utah at Brooklyn
* Indiana at Milwaukee
* Boston at Chicago
* Philadelphia at Dallas
* San Antonio at Denver
* Charlotte at Los Angeles
* New Orleans at Golden State

Every Tuesday is NBA Fan Night. And the NBA Fan Night game this week is...

...Minnesota at Miami!

So the fans want to see how the T-Wolves stack up in South Beach against the Heat. Sounds like something worth watching if you have NBA TV. And yes- Damian Lillard is a hell of a player. I'm not just saying that because my Rockets have yet to beat the Trail Blazers, but because he's a great player.

Have a good Tuesday.

Noah decided to stop the six shooter celebration in memory of the tragedy. He also has done work in the city with social services to try to stop or curb gun related crimes.👍

Other than that, it's refreshing to see the Bulls score double digits.

Really? You should become a Blazer fan. We consistently achieve double digit scoring. :dopey:
I reckon Lillard will take ROY to be honest.
With Davis hurt, Lillard might take it.

When I was talking to somebody about this last week, dude questioned, "big guy, hurt? he isn't a blazer?". Touche. :lol:

We won flag-to-flag (to use racing expressions) tonight. After four straight home losses to the Philadelphia 76ers previously, the Rockets finally got their heads straight and won against the 76ers 125-103. We kept leading big... then let the Sixers come right back. Then, we lead again big... until the Sixers come right back. Rockets FINALLY slammed the door shut on the Sixers to win with a big 4th Quarter by the Rockets. Houston is now above .500 again with a 12-11 (I think) record. We've hit the .500 mark eight times so far this season. I can only hope the Rockets can keep playing strong when we host the Grizzlies on Saturday night. This will be a rather tough stretch coming up- hosting Memphis as well as at Chicago on Christmas night.

Again- Rockets won 125-103 at home against the Philadelphia 76ers. Congratulations to all other winners tonight up to and after the time of this post.

Jose Calderon had 9 assists in the 1st quarter against the Pistons tonight, he finished the game with 17. Greg Monroe wasn't letting the Raptors stop him as he scored 35 but Toronto still came up trumps for their.....4th straight?:odd:
Somebody remind me how much holiday I need to take when the Raptors take 4 in a row.:lol:

Three games are on the card for tonight; two of them are part of the NBA on TNT. This Thursday night's games include...

* Oklahoma City Thunder at Minnesota Timberwolves (TNT)
* Miami Heat at Dallas Mavericks (TNT)
* Denver Nuggets at Portland Trail Blazers

Go check out a game or two tonight!

OKC by 10, Heat by a few, and the Blazers by a few.

@John: The thing about the Sixers is that they are athletic when it comes to offense, however when it comes to crunch time ball, they tend to fall apart.

Something I've always wanted to do was do my usual assessment of teams so far. So let me chat about my Rockets after being well past the 25% mark of the season.

For the most part, I am pretty impressed with the Rockets. We have the youngest average age team with an average age of about 24. James Harden and Jeremy Lin have been fairly solid together. Carlos Delfino has been a great three-point threat for the Rockets. My team is still a bit middle-of-the-road, but they know how to fight hard. It will still take a while for the Rockets to really become a contender again. I don't want just the Texans and Dynamo to be the talk of the town- I also want the Rockets and Astros to get this city buzzing.

The most disappointing aspect of my Rockets has nothing to do with their team- it's the coverage. The new TV home here in Houston for the Rockets and Astros is Comcast SportsNet Houston. I have only seen one live game involving the Rockets- the Boston at Houston game on ESPN. While I do listen to the radio (790 AM here in Houston), unless you have CSN Houston or go to some place that has CSN Houston, you won't be able to SEE the Rockets play. Radio can take you only so far. Many people say that this greed for money is basically counterproductive for Houston sports media. One site I read talked about how the Rockets are trying to contend money-wise with the Lakers. Even still, there is still a pretty good contingent of Rockets fans even if the TV coverage could be better. This will hopefully no longer be an issue if and when CSN Houston is finally picked up by certain major carriers (Dish, DirecTV, etc.).

Anyone else want to assess your team(s)?

Bulls get plenty of coverage when it comes to televised games. Then again they are the third largest market for basketball so the coverage comes naturally.

As for the team itself, they are what they, me, and the rest of the board thinks they are: a .500 ball club without Rose, but still plays solid ball regardless of who's playing.

Looks like Thibs has the new guys fully reigned in on his schemes and ideology in defense. That said, Rose's recovery is coming along well, and the team is gelling. Noah is having an all-star year, and dare I say it, perhaps best Center in the East.

Hinrich's sloppy play may relegate him to the bench for a long time if Rose comes back early. Nate Robinson needs to get less erratic and slow it down here and there. Overall he's a way better signing than Watson. Boozer needs to start that Booze Cruise more often, and Butler is just starting to find his way to the bucket.

OKC by 10, Heat by a few, and the Blazers by a few.
We don't have LaMarcus Aldridge tonight. Our best player. If the Blazer shoot well, Wesley Matthews play, I think we'd win. If we struggle, no Wes, Denver. Coming down to our shooting would be my guess. We should suck defensively, we are pretty consistent there.

You guys have to figure out how to harass Jevale Mcgee away from the rim so Denver can't get many second chances. The lack of Aldridge does hurt your swingman rotation, but the homecrowd for this Thursday night game should fill in as the sixth man.

I really don't trust the Nuggets to be consistent away from the Pepsi Center.

Edit: What's with the alternate unis for OKC? Special occasion?

Both teams are joke. Yet, another reason why I hate NBA these days. People who watch outside the few elite are just watching circus. Blazers versus Denver, it's like watching a pick up basketball game. Utterly pointless, and they play some :censored:ty ball. It really is painful to watch my team play. :crazy:

I was offered tickets for this game too. I actually told my boss(we are both Blazer fans), I won't need anymore tickets until further notice. :lol: Tickets we get through work actually have parking, lower section + meal pass(good food). If I go, I'd probably eat, then go home after the first quarter. :P

Edit: What's with the alternate unis for OKC?
I don't know, I haven't followed NBA much. What's so weird about them?

Other than the first time seeing them, they seem oddly basic. However I do like the color selection.

Probably boosting sales at the Jersey shop in OKC.

It would be cool if Chicago made new alternates. They had special ones in 2004 that honored the Chicago Stags that played professional bball before the Bulls came to town. It was red jersey on blue shorts.

Oh, god. I thought you said "alternate units". My bad. :P

Are you referring to their never-existed throwback unis in black?

Chicago has one of those perfect designs. Teams like Chicago, Blazers, we should never mess around with the style. They might get boring to some, but it's better than some experimental crap, or wannabes like Brooklyn.

Then again, I'm old. :lol:

Stags jersey, I know I couldn't pull that off. :crazy:

It didn't really get pulled off actually. The fans actually had no memory of the team as they were a 1930-40s era team I think. It hardly sold, so after one season the Bulls decided to do away with them.

You sure they are black? Because they look like dark navy.

Three out of the four. One of the right's little pale.....

Huh, strange, because I'm watching the game right now, and they are dark navy.

Regardless, they look shabby, though a bit of a stretch to consider them throwbacks since OKC is as old as my nephew in Long Island.:sly:

The alternate jersey is a dark navy. I almost like them. The jerseys lack something, not sure what though.

JJ Barea is a player that is easy to hate. He is an incredibly annoying pest. However, he can be very effective.

EDIT: Nice "charge" take by Barea. :rolleyes:

Barea is one of those players you adore, if he's on your team. If he's not, I have to stop here because of the AUP. :indiff:

I remember Calderon being a pest against the Bulls whenever we played Toronto.

Edit: Lebron pulled a Brandon Marshall just now.

Edit 2: Nice to see at least one professional team play tonight in Dallas.

Edit 3: Omnis, I know you're relishing this one.

This heat game is a brick factory. Bench has to start shooting better.
