And half the people I know who aren't Heat fans.

That's because of the way he left Cleveland. Also, you shouldn't be in the group since you are a Heat fan.

Hey did you know Wade is our favorite player in Dade County? Ya a shocker I know.

Actually that's not a shocker. It's expected. Wade has played for Miami longer (his entire career), and he's been the emotional center of that team for the duration. Dwayne Wade is also not the one getting criticised first thing in the morning by every herp derp sports show after any and all Heat losses.

James has a stronger microscope on him because he's the best player in the game.

There may be more Dwayne Wade fans than LeBron fans in South Florida, since Wade's been there since 2003. But I don't think I've met anyone who thought Bosh was better than LeBron...

LeBron>Bosh

I like Bosh more. Kill me. I think Lebron is an ass. Doesn't take away from his game.

Also, I think KD will be in a few years.

When LeBron James becomes a free agent, there are some saying he COULD go to the Lakers. I usually get sick of the Lakers often times, and I'd be even more sick of them if LBJ does join the Lakers if and when he becomes a free agent. This chatter comes from watching ESPN. Do you think LeBron would stay with Miami or maybe go someplace else (including the Lakers)?

Lebron James is not guilty of anything, like so many people think he is. The whole "decision" thing was ESPN's desperate whoring for ratings, though I do believe Lebron agreed to it because it helped out with charities or something like that.

Two years later, the hatred subsided for love, since Americans love champions. I have not heard one person ever say they would rather have Chris Bosh over Lebron. Take Chris Bosh out, and you have may have difficulty rebounding and paint scoring. But take out Lebron, and no one respects Miami's offense.

Think Bosh can take on Howard himself down low? Think Wade can get open as easily if his boy Bron not screening for him or drawing doubles?

Besides, Lebron just helped 'Murica show Spain what pro basketball looks like.

And that's what makes me bristle about ESPN; they've largely jumped on the public's bandwagon, and put all of The Decision program into LeBron, as if he was running the cameras, direction, and lighting. Of course, they also give him an inordinate amount of attention, quite negatively the first year, and much less so this past season. This year, they'll probably focus on someone else, who has more "now factor", to use their words. And by now, I think he probably likes it that way...after all, it's a league with lots of different personalities. They will probably devote a bit more time to Dwight Howard, now that he's in LA, and ESPN can't go 10 minutes of reminding you they're not just Bristol anymore.

Hating Lebron as a Miami Heat fan can only mean one thing: you're an idiot.

I'm personally voting for the Thunder to win it all, on the condition that Miami has injury issues and the Lakers (who surprised the **** out of me with all these deals) doesn't click.

I was a SuperSonics fan before they moved, and I do think that the organization has done a remarkable job of building a fan base and a good place to be.

That being said, I'm going to have to go with the Lakers - Heat in the finals. Heat will win in six.

Lot of powerhouse talk. So I'm wondering... name as many teams as possible that you think could be sleepers or underdogs this season. Also, do you think any of these underrated/sleeper team(s) could possibly make a playoff run- and possibly even go deep into the playoffs?

I reckon the Nuggets can possibly go deep, depends who they go up against in the first round.

Also maybe not this year but maybe next year I could see the 76ers go to eastern conference finals if they're able to keep Andrew Bynum.

Raptors were ballin' against the Knicks today winning 107-88. I know it's pre-season etc. but I really like what I've seen so far, aside from the fact they're not even giving Acy a chance to see if he deserves a spot in the rotation.

Possible deep playoff runners:

Knicks *God I hate saying that...*
Celtics *If they can stay healthy*
Clippers *Gonna choke though*
Sixers
Bulls *Choke*
Grizzlies
Nuggets
Hawks
Mavs

Also, what do you guys think of the Magic? All my friends down in O-Town *lived there for a while* say that everyone is in panic mode. They have alot of decent role players, but no leader now.

^^ Yep pretty much most of them are role players. I guess we're gonna know whose gonna have the first draft pick at the end of this season.

Is there a reason you didn't list San Antonio, OKC, Miami, Brooklyn, or the Lakers?

Bulls choking? How is that possible when the expectations for them is to finish 6th at best?

In other news, Nazr Muhammad looks like a solid signing. What we lose defensively with Asik, we gained offensively with Nazr. Nice to Booz drop 24 points and 9 rebounds, but I want him to do that in the regular season and playoffs.

He looks thinner too by the way.

Same goes for the Clippers. They finished in 5th place in the West last year and then beat 4th seeded Memphis in 7 games last year and that was without Chauncey Billups and the other upgrades they have made this year.

I wouldn't worry about this kiddo's NBA assessments when he'd pick Bosh over James any day. That tells you about all you need to know.

Gah, why don't the Hornets sign Gilbert Arenas? Sure, he's past his prime but we still need a solid starting PG.

I think I heard that Gilbert Arenas will be playing in China. So if you were looking for a guy like Arenas, you missed out.

Do you think the New Orleans Hornets can be a playoff threat this season? The Hornets are somehow seen as a team that could contend for a playoff spot. They do play in the same division as my Rockets. So basically, Rockets vs. Hornets vs. Grizzlies will be a battle for 3rd Place in the Southwest unless San Antonio and Dallas have unspeakably bad seasons. But anyhow- can the Hornets be a threat this season?

Yes but I don't see them going beyond the first or second round if they make it to the playoffs. If Eric Gordon stays healthy and doesn't screw up his knee and the brow plays like the first pick in the draft then we may have a slight chance.

David Stern announced he will retire on February 1, 2014. So you'll miss the "Angel of Stern" once he steps down.

As for my Rockets, we won 97-90 in our Preseason match against the Hornets. We led by as much as 17. The first quarter was pretty sloppy. A strong 2nd Half for the Rockets led to the victory. Not that these games mean anything towards the regular season, but we're at least assured a winning preseason with a 4-2 record. Our final game could be threatened by Hurricane Sandy when the Rockets play at the Magic on Friday.

I am still having to listen to games on radio until (hopefully) the new Comcast SportsNet Houston is carried on Dish. So I haven't seen any Rockets action so far on TV this season.

[UPDATE] I have not seen the 2012-2013 Rockets on TV... until now. NBATV is showing highlights of the Rockets at Hornets game. And, it's the CSN Houston coverage.

Whoa! THIS JUST IN: James Harden is coming to the Houston Rockets! Meanwhile, we'll be giving up Kevin Martin, Jeremy Lamb, and some draft picks to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Two shooting guards.... interesting. I was convinced that OKC would trade Harden, but it was taking so long with no real trade rumors, I was starting to think that maybe they were going to come up with some crafty salary cap maneuver.

I like Kevin Martin, but of course, his health can be spotty. I don't now anything about this rookie guard Jeremy Lamb. Two first round picks are nice.

I like Harden, and OKC will miss him, but until they hit Miami. We saw how useless he was in the last Finals against Miami.
