Lowry was epic in the win today against the Wolves, Rondo returned for 8pts in 20mins in a loss to the Celtics and the Heat didn't play Oden today. That's my personal notes for today's NBA, aside from the games not being over. Poppovic also raged on the refs and got ejected during a time-out.

Edit: Plus Durant scored 54 to put away the Warriors!

Well the Thunder won tonight, even though Steph Curry went for 37 and Klay Thompson for 26. That Steph Curry guy is a pretty good player. He shot the ball very well. And, oh yeah, Kevin Durant only went for 54 tonight. I mean, I guess that is a big deal or something. The crowd sure was pumped up about how many shots he was making.

Hoopshype positioning win.

I like both of those a-holes.

Blazers up in Dallas 100-66........ It's still the third. Dallas' having a tough shooting night.

We led from wire-to-wire with a 114-104 victory over the [now] 7-32 Milwaukee Bucks. Terrence Jones was in Beast Mode with about 36 points and 11 assists for a double-double. Houston led by as many as 17 points. This one was a piece of cake, but up next is an NBA on TNT match on Monday Night as we're hosting Portland. MUCH better game for the Rockets than that engine-blowing debacle of a performance the Rockets had on Thursday night hosting Oklahoma City.

[UPDATE] The numbers on T. Jones' night were updated.

Yes John..... after beating the Spurs & Mavs, it's the two tougher stops in Houston & OKC for us on this road trip. I hope you guys lose Monday. :P

My bro and I watched that Heat game, I was like "WHAAAAAT??!!!" when Sessions did that dunk. Lebron might be playing uber efficient basketball, but he doesn't seem to have that invincibile power house well timed game he's had in years past. I wouldn't be surprised if his turn-over rate is a career high this season. Still arguably the best player in the league though, except Durant may be challenging that notion this season.

Edit: I was happy to see Oden play again today, even though he exhibited major rust from time away from the game. I so badly want him to become a serviceable player again, for his sake, for the Heat's sake and for history's sake (one of greatest comeback stories ever if he pulls it off).

Dat derr's a dunk, I tell ye what. I saw the Paul George dunk (in better quality, I might add) on NBA TV's "NBA GameTime." Wow- a 360° one-handed windmill dunk? That was a sick dunk! Got to love basketball.

Ladies and gentlemen, your 2014 NBA finals.
Of course, Stern would cry over how there's no big market teams and can't do anything about it because he resigned.

Cute. I wish it was so.

In this fairly early stage, I think Portland..... also Golden State, OKC, Houston, San Antonio & the Clippers could make the Finals. In the end though, Portland IMO will not advance far in the Playoffs, at least not with the defense we have..... or don't have. lmao With adjustments, they could make some noise come April, but Final's still a reach.

Edit: Gattamit, didn't I say defense? Houston-Portland game's coming to an end, and Houston has 124 points. Jeebus.... I want those Portland homers to tell me again how this team won't need defense to be a contender.

Plenty of basketball today and tonight for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Remembrance Day.

a6m5 hoped my boys would lose to his Trail Blazers, and that... uh, didn't happen. We hung 71 points on the Portland Trail Blazers in the first half... only to WIN (unlike against Oklahoma City this past Thursday) 126-113. Houston led by as many as 15. The Rockets got Patrick Beverley back from hand surgery. 126 points by the Rockets is a season-high. Only one question from me... where the hell was this offense the Rockets could have used in that game vs. OKC this past Thursday? It would have made a huge difference in that game. Good thing is, at least we kept the foot on the gas and motored away to a win.

As for the Trail Blazers, this is one tough road trip they're on. Tough it out as best as you can.

Elsewhere...

* It was a Clippers victory in Detroit as LAC won 112-103.

* Also getting Midwestern hospitality was the Dallas Mavericks in Cleveland. Yep- Mavs 'n Cavs. Dallas wasn't having any of that Midwestern lovin' as the Mavs won 102-97.

* Paulie's Toronto Raptors paid a visit to the Charlotte Bobcats, and the Raps lost 100-95 in Charlotte.

* The Washington Wizards won 107-99 hosting the Philadelphia 76ers.

* It was the Battle for New York as the Brooklyn Nets were hosted by the New York Knicks. kjb's Knicks got whacked with a 103-80 hit on them courtesy of Brooklyn.

* Bourbon Street, meet Graceland. The Memphis Grizzlies hosted stavingo's New Orleans Pelicans. With New Orleans winning 95-92 in Memphis, the Grizzlies are now 0-10 against teams in their division this season.

* The Atlanta Hawks withstood the Miami Heat today. They won 121-114 at home against Miami.

* Chicago hosted the Los Angeles Lakers tonight. After a late boneheaded three-shot foul by Chicago that brought the Lakers to bring the game to Overtime, Taj Gibson was the Bulls' hero as they won 102-100 in Overtime. All sins forgiven in Chi-Town as the Bulls win.

Congratulations to the eventual winners of:
* Indiana Pacers at Golden State Warriors

Get ready for the Boston Celtics at the Miami Heat, because that is tonight's NBA Fan Night Game of the Week. Four other games are on tap tonight as well. So go enjoy some NBA hoops tonight.

Hornets said to be shopping Eric Gordon and/or Tyreke Evans, Pistons said to be shopping Greg Monroe. Anyone else see mutually beneficial trade partners there?

I would pay to see how bad a Jennings/Evans/Smith/Drummond core would be, shooting wise.

I'm sorry to gloat about our own player so much, but LaMarcus Aldridge was something like 27 & 20 just last night in Houston? He's 29 & 16 right now in OKC(late 4th). What a stud. Hands down the best 4 in the franchise history. 👍

Oh, P.S. I hope your team lose, Brett. <<<tied up right now.

Edit: Well, that was classic. I tuned in I think at 95-92, Blazers. They haven't scored since(score now at 95-102). Go me, Go Blazers~

I give the TrailBlazers some credit. Houston jumped out to a quick lead & Portland was able to start coming back. But, then credit has to be taken away as Houston got back into rhythm leaving them completely in control of the whole game.

And concur on Aldridge. Hell of a player for the franchise. I still can't believe Williams & Lopez are on the team, though. When the hell did that happen?

It started with the former Clippers GM we stole, Neil Olshey. Mo Williams overestimated his worth, hung around as FA until no team had any money left. Lopez was a three team trade involving I think Tyreke Evans(meaning salary adjustment to make the deal work). We got both players for nothing. Love Olshey. 👍

I know this feeling so much, it always feels as if I single-handedly ruined it. Losing a close(ish) game like that at the last minute always feels worse than being blown away.

When I was younger, when this happened, I took it to heart. I know it's all coincidences, but just like when a guy on the TV talk-up the free throw shooter, then the shooter seem to miss almost like 75% of the time? You still sometimes wonder.

Watch out NBA. With performances like that tonight, the Thunder are going to be tough to beat. That is, that performance by Kendrick Perkins. Hits the jumper from the baseline with a minute and half left to pretty much ice the game. To make this even better, Perk followed that jumper with a big time block. I pretty sure he managed a steal some where in that sequence too. Unstoppable!

Oh, and that Kevin Durant fellow seems to be pretty good at basketball too. :sly:

Problem is Perkins will never be that consistent in his performances. He's not bad, but he doesn't bring out too many great games like that often enough. OKC doing very well though without Russell.

Not even close. FINALLY, we knock off the Sacramento Kings after failing twice to them. Third time's the charm. I mentioned the score wasn't even close. That's because the Houston Rockets hammered Sacramento 119-98 tonight. Yeah- blowout city.

Up next for my Rockets is a unique back-to-back: home vs. Memphis on Friday followed by at Memphis on Saturday. Congratulations to all other winners from tonight's games.

I wish there was a "unlike" button I can click on Brett's post. Tonight, they beat my #2 Spurs(I know, big surprise). I really don't like OKC. Bah! :yuck:

He needs to work on his game in the low post. Missing easy shots/layups and looking like garbage on that side of the floor. However, he's a monster on defense. So good. I hope he holds up.
