Clearly, Sterling was not aware. Therefore the tape was illegally made under California law, and therefore isn't going to be admissible in a court of law. Which is where this thing is heading.

I still think this whole thing smells like a setup to me. I also think that despite their public statements the NBA owners are going to think twice and heavy about voting to remove Sterling. If you're a owner, why would you vote for a process which would allow another owner to be removed so quickly based on illegally obtained evidence? Because the next owner in line for a forced sale could be them.
Rush says that the next possible owner to get the treatment could be Richard DeVos on his Gay Marriage stance. That could be possible if Sterling is forced to sell the Clippers.

Still, go Hawks. Paul George should be suspended, but they're going to weasel their way out of the clear precedent that's been set. Amare Stoudemire is going to go nuts when they announce PG isn't getting suspended.
I can't believe people didn't learn this when Mel Gibson was going to court with his ex. It became the biggest downfall to the case when they discovered her doing it.

Edit* Holy damn, Mavs pulled out a win, though Ellis almost literally threw it away.

I think they're going after Snyder and the Redskins next. Our glorious senate majority leader has already jumped on that bandwagon. Saying the NFL should follow the NBA's lead and force him to change the name or be thrown out. But wouldn't surprise me at all if they went after DeVos as well.

I think the hope is that public pressure, media etc will get the goal of his removal accomplished before it gets to the court. You'd think he'd actually committed a serious crime as quick as this is being pushed rather than just having a unpopular opinion.

What a stud.....

How did you like the officiating last few games, @Jump_Ace?

I can't believe Houston defense didn't see the double screen coming. I think most fans saw the play the moment camera showed the court!

Indeed, LA fizzled after his first two games, he took the lead after that. That double screen was something I learned in High School, but never saw anyone make that kind of 3 pointer before

As for the officials, I think they called Damian being out of bounds right, but they seemed inconsistent throughout the series, but a little better than the first two games, that was 👎

That final shot reminds me of the one Brandon Roy made against Houston a few years ago. I don't remember what year it was specifically though.

I was not fan of the officiating after the first two games. First two games, I thought they were filled with blown calls/non-calls, but they were spread pretty even. I guess it doesn't even matter now.

LaMarcus did fizzle, but from god-mode to mere superstar level. Wesley was warrior, and everybody else stepped up, too. Lillard stepped up his game for the post season(especially his defense), we are proud of that kid. 👍

I hate to give props to Dwight Howard, but you can tell that he picked up a trick or two or three from the great Hakeem Olajuwon. He was going thru RoLo like there was nobody there.

I was a HUGE Roy fan, but Lillard's strength is also in his ability to involve his teammates. I do remember the shot you are talking about. While the difficulty level doesn't begin to compare(was Roy closer to the halfcourt than the three point line?), Damian's shot counted in the real basketball game(ie playoffs). 👍

Edit: Not quite, but close(0:18 you can see how far out he was).

Damian. Lillard. Wow.

To be fair a6m5, Lin wasn't the problem nor was Howard. It's McHale & his moronic decision to keep playing Chokedin. Pretty apparent after 2012 Finals & this round, he can't play under pressure.

I thought it was mainly the coach, but of course, roster itself was bit all over the place as well. Likely due to Jeremy Lin & Asik contract. I'm not familiar with Houston's offense, but media here kept talking up Houston's 3-point shooting? I wasn't impressed with the way they moved the ball at all, and that's kind of important if you want to shoot 3's.

I like Jeremy, though I still don't like his game. I was actually looking for picture of Parsons, since he defended the shot, but that hilarious picture of Jeremy came up & I could not pass up on that. I'm only a man.

My Internet was down yesterday, so I was unable to come in immediately to discuss the Rockets getting 86ed out of the 2013-2014 Playoffs. And in case you're wondering, I felt a combination of furious and heartbroken when LaMarcus Aldridge hit that untimely shot with 0.9 left in the game. I was throwing things around in my room and saying lots of bad language when that unlikely shot hit. I was already uncomfortable when the Rockets went up by one on a nice scoop to the basket. Afterwards, I knew I had reason to be uncomfortable with the slim lead we had; and those fears were confirmed with that heartbreaking shot by Aldridge. Had Asik not foul late, Jeremy Lin probably would have given the Rockets a much more comfortable margin after banking a three-point shot that was eventually waved off because of Asik's foul. In the end, a6m5's Trail Blazers finally beat my Rockets in a playoff series. We were 4-0 all-time over Portland in playoff series. It almost felt like maybe Dr. Jack Ramsay was in the Moda Center in spirit in hoping Portland beat my Rockets. No matter how you look at it, Portland's happy; and I'm mad as hell Houston's season is over. One Texas team will advance to the 2nd Round, and Houston WON'T be one of them to make it two Texas teams.

All series long, I've respected the Trail Blazers. It just seemed like Aldridge and Lillard decided NOW in the playoffs to be elite (or damn near elite) players. I didn't have the Rockets winning the series after seeing just how tricky and unpredictable Portland could be. I also didn't have the Rockets winning the championship. What I DIDN'T have was the Rockets putting up not enough of a fight to let all the hard work in the regular season go for nothing. When your beloved team does very well or impressively in the regular season only to fall apart in the playoffs, it feels like all that work was done for nothing. You have to live with the pain of what could have been until the next season comes along. So as you can tell, I am m:censored:f:censored:ing pissed off over the Rockets would-be series-tying victory... only to have it stolen away [cleanly, of course] on a game-winning shot.

I love sports (motorsports first and foremost). being a Houston sports fan though, I'm getting tired of my teams losing or finding ways to lose. It's getting redundant. The Rockets were the best thing going in Houston sports right now. Now, they're out. So it's back to the Astros and the Texans for me until the next NBA season starts. Houston's just one of those poor sports cities besides Atlanta and Cleveland.

All congratulations to Portland on a great season. And congratulations to all others still in the playoffs. Congratulations also to whomever eventually wins the NBA Championship. I'll still be here to hype up the playoffs and stuff, but I don't really care anymore about this postseason since my team is done, and in heartbreaking fashion.

But again- I was offline due to some Internet issues; not because I was too ashamed to come on GTPlanet and share bad news regarding my team(s).

I take it that you were pretty hammered at this point.

My Blazers did good, and they just begun playing defense, as they entered the Playoffs. Having said that, this still was Houston's series to lose, and they should not have lost(I think we are eye-to-eye there, John). McHale sucked as a GM(or President or whatever) & my impression is that he sucks as a coach, too. If Morey is able to tweak the roster, and if they were still running that clumsy offense, I'd get a new coach. Rockets just didn't look in sync.

No way man. I just thought maybe you were in jail for turning over police cars or something.

I'm kidding. :D

Big games for the Thunder stars today, 27pts, 16ast and 10reb for Westbrook and Durant had 33pts on 5-5 3pt FG.

Drive to the lane, denied! Lowry gets blocked by Pierce and Brooklyn survives 104-103 to earn the 2nd round match vs. Miami.

The Raptors (I mean Floptors) fans are crying their maple syrup tears, and I'm collecting it for my smug pancakes.:P

The Raps cannot handle THE TRUTH.

How did your Bulls go against the Wizards again?:odd: We pushed the most expensive team in the league to 7 games with a roster that wasn't even supposed to make the play-offs after the Gay trade. We can hold our heads high, they did pretty well on the season.

Edit: Oh, and it was Joe Johnson we couldn't handle, Paul Pierce wasn't great most of the series.:P

You have to give the Raptors a TON of credit. They took the Nets to Game 7 & it easily could have gone the other way. I think they'll be back next year for sure.

Agreed. But only if Kyle Lowry remains healthy. When he's healthy, he is one of the sneaky non-superstars that quietly put up huge superstar numbers. I'd rank a healthy Kyle Lowry in my top 15 overall players.

I'm sorry, how many D Rose's or Luol Deng's were you guys missing?

Lose Kyle Lowry or DeRozan and then try to make the playoffs with a dead last offense to begin with. :P

Don't get me wrong, I'm giving the Raptors credit for pushing the Nets (again Jason Kidd is not the answer for coach), but Lowry is a flopper.

And Pierce may have not been that great, but Lowry got shown why he's called the Truth with that block.:D

Ooooo my bias is out in full swing!

The thing there is if they get Lowry to resign. I've heard a lot of Mavs fans thinking Cuban should throw him an offer if he can (I have no idea if our cap room can accommodate him, even with Dirk's cut). This should actually be a really interesting summer with how many big names will become free agents.

The Conference Semifinal games are coming up. Good luck to all remaining teams.

If anyone looks to start a discussion... of all the teams ousted from this season's playoffs (HOU, DAL, GS, MEM, ATL, CHA, TOR, and CHI), what team(s) could make the playoffs next season? Which one will be the most improved and may possibly go further next playoffs than they did in this season?

Have at it and enjoy some NBA basketball.

Hey, they did sweep the Heat in the regular season... but who knows?
Anyways, another award has been (officially) handed out.
Michael Carter-Williams is the rookie of the year.

(Jamal Crawford is 6th man of the Year, btw, just waiting for official numbers.)

God damn Brooks, quit playing Hack-A-Shaq when you get blown out! He did this last year against Houston with Asik (IIRC) & it was the most annoying crap ever. Stop delaying the game....
