Maybe, or maybe everyone will be going Andre Drummond, Dwight Who? It will be nice if the Rockets are a top team in the West again, better them than the regulars like the Lakers.

Pelicans baby

I think there are big questions surrounding a Holiday and Evans backcourt still, it will either thrive or fail miserably, plus there's the lack of a small forward the Pelicans have and who is your centre now Lopez is gone?

I think they'll be successful if both of them can work off the ball and have Evans work on his pull ups.

We signed that Steisma(sp?) from the Timberwolves so either he may start or Davis slides to 5 and Anderson starts at 4.

That didn't take long. Metta gets his wish & signs a 2 year deal with the Knicks.

Good pickup for Knicks. Adds a lot of defense off the bench. Could also start him with Melo at the 4, to solve the problem of Amar'e and Melo being completely incompatible with each other.

Lakers are gonna miss Metta.

Word has it that Hakeem Olajuwon will return to the Rockets. Whatever role he'll serve (retuning to being a player is VERY unlikely) has yet to be determined, though.

He's going to be Howard's mentor.

There was talk of him returning as a garbage time player, but even with his tremendous NBA talent still going strong, he's a 50-year old man. One hard foul from someone like LeBron, Amar'e, Metta, Wallace, or Griffin would do serious damage.

Hakeem could still makes guys look silly with the Dream Shake.

So you're saying he's going to become Hakeem Olajuwan Howard?

Steimsa is not a good player IIRC, 2nd string at best. It sounds like Anderson will have to start.

Looking at the news in the league today, seems after Metta was amnestied, Drew Gooden (Bucks), Linas Kleiza (Raptors), & Mike Miller (Miami) were amnestied as well. There's also a statement that Mo Williams wants to play for Miami & seeing as close he & LeBron are, James could probably get Riley to find a deal to get him.

Amnesties everywhere

Another sharpshooter to replace Miller? No surprise there.

Some teams use the amnesty rather hastily, can't they only use it once every 10yrs?

Sort of. A team can amnesty only 1 player from 2012-13 through 2015-16 before the start of the season & only to players signed before that first season.

Dallas apparently close to signing Samuel Dalembert as a starting center whilst they still pursue Oden.

Don't know much about him except it'll be interesting to see how Carlisle works with him & Ellis both being teammates for the Bucks.

What's going on with your new PF in this video, Paulie?

The amnesty provision was negotiated with the last two CBAs. My guess is the next CBA would probably also include the provision.

Too many illicit substances. I'd be more worried about our starting Centre Valanciunas, he dropped the F bomb in an interview with DeRozan about Summer League. He didn't intend it, he was pretty obviously just joking around but now it's on the interwebs everyone can watch an NBA player running his mouth.

This upcoming season will be the last season of the Charlotte Bobcats... in terms of namesake. Starting with the 2014-2015 season, they will be... the Charlotte Hornets. So buy up that Bobcat stuff!

Besides that, my Rockets signed Aaron Brooks to a one-year deal.

Hell I still have all my Charlotte Hornet shirts from being a kid!:)👍

Hahah I still rock a Charlotte hornets cap I bought awhile ago but I'm a Pelicans fan

Need to get myself some of their new gear, looks tight 👍

So it's official? Great news, the Hornets name back where it belongs. 👍

Edit: And lol at this comment by somebody on the Bleacher Report.
Better stock up on Bobcats stuff. It could be worth nothing someday.

Worth nothing's about right. It would be so nice to have the Charlotte Hornets back again. 👍

LaMarcus Aldridge trade request is surfacing again. Reportedly his representative has met with Blazers GM Olshey in Vegas(where the Summer League is held).

Story I read says that everybody is keeping this on a down low, which is something a little boy called Dwight Howard should learn from. I'd hate to see LaMarcus leave, because I believe that Blazers is pretty close to being a Playoff team soon, if not this season(I'm talking about 8th seed though). Unless he foresees the Blazers tanking two years in a row for the upcoming "the" 2014 draft. I know nothing about college ball, but supposedly, it's a big deal, next year.

Blazers' been irrelevant since early 2000's, so I can understand where LaMarcus is coming from. I'm just glad that we don't have a team made up of thugs and drama queens anymore.

So far, Bulls & Cavs name come up more often. If the Bulls part with Noah, I can see that getting the Blazers interested, but I really can't see the Bulls doing that, unless Noah's health is worse than rest of us are aware. Dallas might have a shot, as they do have veteran players, and it's L-Train's hometown. I wish he'd change his mind.

The Blazers puzzle me how they weren't already a play-off team, they have a pretty good line-up, surely they can make it this year. So far the biggest low flying under the radar team might be the Cavs I think, Bynum pending.
