Ouch tough loss for the Bulls, but they had some tired legs in this one. I think that is partly the reason why Indiana managed to make that potential game winning run at the end. We got 50 games left Thibs. At this point we just want to make playoffs healthy and fresh. We know this team can compete with anyone. But they have to be able to compete at a high caliber this post season.

The East is suddenly not as much of a cake walk anymore....

Damn those wascally Portwand Trail Bwazers! A hard fought game that went down to OT, man it looked like Toronto needed DeRozan that game, Lowry was the only one producing. But at least Chicago and Washington both lost as well today :sly:, but Hawks winning doesn't help none.:indiff:

@Paulie

I find it strange that they all win and lose at the same time.

Still only a 2 game difference between the top four which is pretty much nothing over 50 games.

Who?

Say what you want but those old Grizzles jersey's were sweet. The 90's rocked.
Well....... At least your Lancer avatar's cool. :sly:

All the 90's jerseys were great in there own sometimes ugly way
Great...... ugly. That's about right. :D

Good guys won! Go Bwazers!

Silver-Era NBA's starting out in a interesting way. Lot of teams competing real closely(also lot of teams not competing closely lol). I like it.

In this back-to-back, the Houston Rockets won 102-83 hosting the Charlotte Hornets. So we ended 2014 on a happy note. Up next for Red Nation is a trip to New York City to take on the Knicks as part of the slate of NBA on TNT games on New Year's Day.

Congratulations to all other winners from New Year's Eve. Best wishes to all teams in the new year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Maybe I need to check the schedule better. My Rockets will go to work in 2015 starting at the New Orleans Pelicans tomorrow night followed by hosting Miami on Saturday.

Why do I mention all of this? It is because I noted the Rockets will be at the Knicks tonight; but that's not the case. THIS is how 2015 will start. The first games of the new year are as follows:

* Denver Nuggets at Chicago Bulls
* Sacramento Kings at Minnesota Timberwolves

No NBA on TNT for this Thursday night. Just two games to ring in 2015. Enjoy.

What the hell happened to my Rockets? We got beat at New Orleans like Florida State got beat by Oregon in college football. End 2014 with a big win; start 2015 with a big loss. The New Orleans Pelicans ran over my Rockets 111-83 in New Orleans tonight. James Harden and Corey Brewer both scored only 12 points for the Rockets. Teams are bound to have games where you just lose BAD. Doesn't really matter who the other team is, you just have some games where you lose bad. The Rockets will return home tomorrow night to host Omnis' Miami Heat.

Congratulations to all other teams who won on Friday, like Oklahoma City. Better luck next time to all losers, including the New York Knicks who now lost 10 straight.

After getting lynched in New Orleans, the Houston Rockets iced Omnis' Miami Heat 115-79 here in Houston. We did so with James Harden cashing in 28 points, and Dwight Howard got himself a double-double with 23 points and 13 rebounds. This is still refreshing for the Rockets to get in a huge win after getting stomped on in the previous game. A win like this almost makes it seem like getting your brains beat in seem like it never happened. What WILL happen, though, is a three-game Eastern Conference road trip starting on Monday. The Rockets will embark on this road trip:

* 1/5 - at Chicago
* 1/7 - at Cleveland
* 1/8 - at New York (NBA on TNT)

We are now 22-10 on the season, 3rd in the Southwest Division, and 5th in the Western Conference standings.

Elsewhere...

* The Boston Celtics fell at the Chicago Bulls 109-104 in Overtime. 48 minutes wasn't enough to settle this one.

* 101-89 was the score in Minneapolis as the Timberwolves lost to the visiting Utah Jazz.

* The San Antonio Spurs dropped the visiting Washington Wizards 101-92.

* The Orlando Magic ran out of tricks to try to subdue Charlotte. The Charlotte Hornets won 98-90 in Orlando.

Congratulations to these winners and the eventual winners of MEM at DEN, ATL at POR, and PHI at LAC.

And of those games, Joe Ingles got the start for an injury plagued Jazz, he logged 30mins but only had 7pts, 3reb 4ast and 2stl. Patty Mills also got some rhythm back today, chipping in 15pts in 15mins. Good work Aussies, not great, but good.:)

Edit: Congrats @DCybertron's Suns, they gave the Raptors their first blowout loss of the season (that I can recall) and dunked all up in Jonas Valanciunas. I hope that's a wakeup call for them, their defence has been putrid lately.

Bulls on parade. It's normally reserved for my Houston Texans of the NFL, but the Bulls stampeded my Rockets 114-105 in Chicago. My Rockets now continue their three-game Eastern Conference road trip with a back-to-back. The first stop is in Cleveland on Wednesday (to be televised on ESPN) followed by an NBA on TNT game at the New York Knicks. We didn't have a good night, but all congratulations to Chicago. I did not follow the game in any real capacity. Still, congratulations to sumbrownkid's Bulls.

Congratulations to all other winners from Monday, including the Philadelphia 76ers getting their first home win of the season by defeating Cleveland. It is PHI's 5th win of the season. They have the same number of wins as the New York Knicks.

@JohnBM01

Well Cleveland is without Lebron I think so that should be a win. They just lost to the Sixers.

Excuse me while I laugh.

They also just traded for JR Smith, and an injured Shumpert.

Let me laugh even harder. :dopey:

Waiters to OKC, JR Smith to Cleveland? Cavs talk confidently, but that says desperation to me. At least insecurity.

P.S. Go Bulls!
Reggie Jackson is not involved in that trade, BTW.

Here it is:

CAVS GET: Iman Shumpert, J.R. Smith, protected 2015 1st round pick (from OKC)
OKC GETS: Dion Waiters
KNICKS GET: Alex Kirk, Lou Amundson, Lance Thomas, and a 2019 2nd round pick (from Cavs)

EDIT: Sorry @Paulie :P , but it's hard when your team is missing it's second best player.

I didn't even know his name was mentioned. I did see Shumpert & Amundson's names in there, but that's about it. Three way trade of very low self-esteem.

P.S. Watching the Blazers right now. We are playing the Lakers like we are the superior team & we know it. We should be putting this team down by 20 points, instead, it's 52-51. Good thing I can root for the Spurs again this post season.

P.P.S. Wow, Blazers almost gave it away, but as superior NBA teams often do, they just turned it on on demand. Another reason why I'm starting to enjoy baseball more. You can't just play like you don't give a 🤬 then turn it on when you want to, get the "W". Call me bitter, but I'm not gonna lie, I was starting root for the Lakers in the 4th quarter. I don't think I've rooted against my team in many years, if ever, but they just rubbed me the wrong way tonight.

I actually like the trade Cavs/Knicks/Thunder made. IMHO Waiters was toxic to the Cavs, he never seemed to gel with the star players and he always makes bone-headed basketball plays. Yeah he can go on scoring runs and he's still got a long career ahead of him, but Cavs are trying to win now. Shumpert, when he returns, is a good two way player. Hopefully they waive JR Smith and don't even take the risk with him.
The Thunder turned absolutely nothing in to Dion Waiters, worth the experiment.
The Knicks FINALLY got rid of JR Smith and can actually start thinking about the future. It's just a shame Melo will miss his prime playing for a team that can't get it together.

Now! In Aussie News! Dante Exum got his first NBA start today, with Trey Burke out with strep throat. And it was alongside Joe Ingles who got his 2nd start today. Dante equalled his career high of 13pts, but disappointingly (especially since he's been doing it well all season) recorded no other stats except 3 personal fouls (thankfully no turnovers). Joe Ingles was the man though, he only scored 8pts, but also had 9reb, 8ast and 2stl. Nearly a triple double!

We played on national TV as part of a back-to-back. It was my Rockets at the LeBron-less Cleveland Cavaliers. CLE is 1-5 without LeBron. After tonight, make it 1-6 because the Rockets won 105-93. Up next for the Rockets is Houston at New York as the back end of this back-to-back and the conclusion of this road trip. We are now 24-11 on the season.

Congratulations to everyone else who didn't fail tonight.

Wow Bulls really played a stinker and lost to Utah.

Why is it that the Bulls play like crap at home? The entire team is still in this shooting slump.

Adding insult to our injury (Raptors have lost 3 in a row) the Hawks keep beating the West's best teams, today they beat Dallas.

Edit: My bad, it was the Pistons who beat Dallas today, but the Hawks have been killing it never the less.

Three games are coming up tonight, two of them as part of the NBA on TNT, all making for one busy Thursday night of NBA action. You want some hoops for tonight? Make plans to check out these three matches:

* Houston Rockets at New York Knicks (NBA on TNT)
* Charlotte Hornets at Toronto Raptors
* Miami Heat at Portland Trail Blazers (NBA on TNT)

Enjoy some Thursday NBA hoops, everyone.

Honestly man the Hawks have been playing great, but until they show up in the playoffs, it's whatever to me. Honestly like I said, I would rather the Bulls make the playoffs in any seed at full health. I know the Bulls can beat the Hawks.

It just seems like the Bulls only bring their A game when it's a .500 team or better. If it's below they play down to their level. That's something Thibs has to burn out of them.

If Spike Lee made a Spike Lee Joint on the 2014-2015 Knicks, what would it be called? Anyhow, we picked up our silver (25th) win of the season with authority- a 120-96 victory even as the Rockets were sleepwalking a little bit in the early phases of the game. Red Nation rocked Madison Square Garden. Paper bags were on the heads of some Knicks fans as they couldn't stand seeing their Knicks fail again. They won only one game in December 2014 and have yet to win in January 2015. The woes continue for the Knicks. As for my Rockets, we're back home for a grand total of one game on Saturday. Back on the road after that match.

Congratulations to all other Thursday winners, including the Charlotte Hornets taking down Paulie's Toronto Raptors in Toronto.

Blazers killed my Heat. I love that we got Hassan Whiteside though. Hope he keeps developing into a major force in the paint. He is what they hoped Pittman would be.

HASSAN CHOP!

So it looks like Boston is tanking. They're sending Jeff Green to the Memphis Grizzlies for Tayshaun Prince and a future 1st round pick.

They've also sent Brandon Wright to the Suns for... you guessed it. ANOTHER 1st round draft pick!
Although it's a protected one Phoenix got from Minny, that will likely turn into 2 2nd round picks..

EDIT: Stan Van Gundy has come up with an excellent defensive play for the Pistons.
It's called "FORM A F:censored:KING WALL". (Put the sound on on the video, and read the article. It's hilarious.)

EDIT 2: Trevor Booker hits one of the weirdest shots you'll ever see.
