America's team = Houston Rockets. Canada's team = Toronto Raptors. This time... the battleground is Toronto. And, Canada won this time. Rockets failed tonight, and this one hurts in two ways. First off, we lost 99-96. Second off, Patrick Beverley will seek wrist surgery, so we'll be without his services for the rest of the season. Congratulations to Paulie's Raptors. Profound sadness for Red Nation tonight.

We didn't win tonight, but congratulations to everyone else who did win this Monday night.

Phoenix being murdered by Portland at the moment. Bad for @DCybertron, good for the Pelicans in the race for the 8th seed in the west. :P (Although OKC look likely to win that race)

It was a great 2nd half to the game. It was amazing the Raptors stayed in it after playing so woefully most of the game. Clint Capela had some really nice dunks for Houston, a few posters were distributed.

Edit: Cool, Ben Simmons will play in the All American game tomorrow (despite being Australian :lol:).

This is the last month of the regular season. Later in April is the Playoffs. Is your team still in the mix to make the playoffs? If not, time is running out. So make your move NOW!

Heading into tonight's games, here's a look at who is in the playoffs:

! = Division Champion
!! = Division Champion and Home Court

--- WHO'S IN! - EASTERN ---
* Toronto!
* Cleveland
* Chicago
* Atlanta!!
* Washington

TOP 8 (^ = in playoffs): Atlanta^, Cleveland^, Chicago^, Toronto^, Washington^, Milwaukee, Miami, Brooklyn

--- WHO'S IN! - WESTERN ---
* Portland
* Golden State!!
* Los Angeles Clippers
* Memphis
* Houston

TOP 8: (^ = in playoffs): Golden State^, Memphis^, Houston^, Portland^, Los Angeles Clippers^, San Antonio, Dallas, Oklahoma City

And there you have it. Playoff positioning, playoff pushes, and playing for pride and/or draft picks. Good luck to all of your team(s) moving forward.

Portland & the Clippers tonight. My goal is to limit swearing, but I will fall short even before they finish the shootaround. April Fools, I have no such goal. :P

Edit: What would you call this, reverse crossover?

Pretty slick.

The Houston Rockets decided to rest Dwight Howard tonight against the Sacramento Kings. Didn't need him after we won 115-111. This marks our 51st win of the 2014-2015 season. Oh... and James Harden went golden again. This time, dropping a new career high 51 points.

Our next opponent clinched themselves a playoff spot. That team will be coming to Houston ready to prove we could match up against them. Who's that team coming to H-Town this Friday night? The San Antonio Spurs.

Congratulations to all other winners on this April Fool's Wednesday.

The German Schnitzel surpassed 28,000 points tonight in a win against OKC. He's just under 600 away from Shaq which he should realistically do before he retires.

Let's hope so, because as far as I'm concerned, Dirk is a better basketball player than Shaq too.

I'm speechless.

P.S. 🤬 you Clips.

Here's the thing... Dirk can do, or did, everything. Shaq is no doubt a physical force and a juggernaut in the paint, but Dirk was a beast in the paint and everywhere else on the floor too.

The game is nowhere near as physical as during Shaq's Magic days, but what if Ewing and other bigs of the day were forced to guard Dirk on the outside? Shaq was a beast, but Dirk was a revolution.

Anyway, I think in 10 years there are gonna be a ton of people in that 28,000 club.

Fairly decent day all round for me. The Raptors won (Caboclo scored in garbage time), Aron Baynes had a new career high 18pts (Go Baynesy!), Dante Exum had a career high 12ast, Joe Ingles scored 12pts and it was the end of a 4 day week before a 4 day weekend.:D

According to the Yahoo! Sports app on my tablet PC, my Rockets are on a back-to-back... taking on the Dallas Mavericks up in Dallas tonight. I am sure Dallas needs this one to help their cause.

Enjoy tonight's games.

Rockets with a win thanks to 3 fouls in the 4th. Harden initiates the contact against Rondo & trips, Rondo called for a foul. Rondo called for a second foul again by Harden flopping his body. Harris sets a screen, called for moving despite his feet planted. Brewer rebounds & puts both feet out of bounds; Rockets ball. Harden doesn't beat the buzzer for the layup; game continues for a minute before stopping to review.

MVP* Harden will have to thank the refs as much as Durant thanked his momma.

So... we won? I didn't really follow the game, though I was surely concerned the Rockets probably would stumble with this back end of a back-to-back against a dangerous Dallas squad. I then looked at Yahoo! Sports and saw the Houston Rockets won 108-101 at Dallas. I didn't follow this game too much.

Congratulations to all other winners from Thursday. Better luck next time to all who failed tonight.

I was speechless at the stating of the obvious. Shaq to me is one of the most overrated players, ever. I won't bore you with the bitching, but Dirk on the other hand, he's one of those players who have mastered the game of basketball.

I always thought he was too finesse & will never be able to carry the Mavs to the Championship through more physical playoff basketball. Joke's on me. Arguably the best player to come out of Europe(but I'm a Sabonis fanboy), and NBA Champion who can actually shoot the ball. :dunce:

It's a damn shame, because Flop Beard is actually a very talented player. However, due to his silly flopping all over the court, he's ridiculed or disliked by many Blazer fans(dare I say most). I'd love to see him focus straight on basketball & see how far he could take his game.

P.S. I hope his flopping flops in more physical playoff basketball.

Allow me to bring the 1 thing that makes all Blazers fan happy when they hear Rockets.

You don't have to worry about Harden flopping in the Playoffs. The guy has cracked under Playoff pressure since causing OKC to lose to the Heat in 2012.

This is kind of big news for Australian fans, the Boomers head coach has received verbal commitments from all the Aussie NBA players (including Bogut!), except Ingles who has fairly elected to rest, for the Olympic qualifying series against the Kiwis in August. Ben Simmons is also likely to be there (college commitments permitting), and Thon Maker may receive a camp invite as well.
Bogut hasn't played for the National team in probably something like 10yrs.

He tries to play the same way he does in the regular season and it does not translate in the playoffs because the referees do not give him as many calls, along with playoff defenses being pretty prepared to not fall for his tricks.

Thanks Mac....... I had seen this replay 348 times so far, but now it's 352 times after your post.

:P

And that's what I'm hoping for. Not that I agree with it(I actually don't), but traditionally, playoff basketball is a different game, and is more physical. Foul calls are harder to come by, and I hope it becomes even more harder for someone who turns basketball into what looks like a flopping sideshow. Sorry, John.

:crazy: Usually I start questioning their patriotism for something like that, but the dude is hurt a lot. Best of luck to you guys. 👍

Eh, I think for some, it just means more basketball. Rondo hasn't played or tried out for US team since 2010 because he enjoys his time off. Tim Duncan hasn't either since 2004.

True, but I think the U.S. situation is very different though. While the All-Star level players are dime a dozen in the U.S., overseas, top level players, proven at the highest level(NBA in this case) are premium commodities to countries not the U.S. of A. Most nations are lucky to have couple of players good enough to get steady minutes in the NBA, and teams like those from France, or Spain are really unique in being able to feature even a handful of such players on their roster.

Go Raptors. *runs away*

Haha. :D

In other news...Bulls actually can beat the Pistons.

I was getting sick of them to be honest. :yuck:

@McLaren

It's kinda too late for Tim Duncan in this point in his career to be on Team USA. Honestly now it's a question of when his jersey is going to be retired along with him than suiting up for Murica. For Rondo there's a lot of competition for the PG spot, that is if players like Lillard, Wall, Westbrook, and coughRosecough don't answer the call.

Well, Mac did say 'since' 2004 in regards to Timmy. Congrats on the Bulls win. 👍
I like John, I like Houston too, but flop & drama, also whatever that idiot point guard they have, can't stand them. So sorry. :P

Well I've got to give Boogie Cousins a shout out, he became the first player today since Chamberlain in 1968 to record back-to-back games of 20pts 20reb and 10ast.
It was also great to see Aron Baynes with back to back 18pt games.👍

Poor old Bogut, he has been injured a lot. This is a picture of him today:

This is him when he last played for the Boomers:

Talk about an age difference! It was actually 2008 he last played for the National team.

As good as Duncan has been, there have been a lot of younger players who were more able to perform at a higher level for the national team in recent times.
For Rondo, I would have thought it's because he's not very good.:sly:

This +1. Within a couple years we may be able to field an entire team of NBA players, but in the past missing Bogut has always been a huge dent to the Boomers, it's hard for us to replace that caliber of player like USA can.
