Ah I just told my wife not to before I started. She usually downloads something to watch while I hog the TV.

Race was awesome. Put a significant lead on hards then settled down on the softs and just put in fast laps whenever gt-r put a couple of tenths on the board. Was able to manage the tyres well but I'm thinking a high speed sweeper will destroy those fronts in seconds.

I'm guessing most were shifting at redline and that's where the biggest difference came. 8000rpm shifts put the car right in the torque band. Looking forward to the next Subi race.

Great racing fellas

Glorious hind sight!

You were phucking fast mate, didn't stand a chance in catching you. Felt bad for VH who was struggling for power, I was backing off 200metres before brake marker to avoid hitting him. Crap way to start a series but thats racing :D

Thought my drop outs had stop before race but alas not to be. Couldn't even stay and watch what a bummer.

as we approach the last race of season two, I would like to thank everybody who gave it a go. the racing has been very close and fast but I think we have all enjoyed the challenge. 2 highlights for this series. rager 1st podium. just shows that patience and persistence pays off. and the whole race of road course Indy. 35 laps of being overtaken and then coming back. best race I have ever done on gt5 and the thanks goes to all the boys around me who kept it clean and mean.
thanks Tim

cheers tim, would like to thank you and rager for running such a good series. think this season was even better that the last one with some fantastic racing. too many high lights to mention. your a class act vh congratulations to you. had some great battles with all of you. think its got faster and cleaner as the season went on. sundays are a high light of my week thanks all.

this Sunday is the final outing in the Silvia. Madrid 70 laps. as this is a street track it will be a rolling single file start. the race will be set to 72 laps. 1 lap to warm tyres and 1 lap to form up. please allow plenty of room between yourselves on lap 1 and there is to be no bumping during these laps. do not accelerate at the start until the car in front of you has to ensure room at 1st turn. long race and cant win on lap 1. good luck and see you there. will let you now the time this arvo for race time

Me and Emu had a blat there last night. Very difficult to overtake as expected so everyone will have to be on their best behavior. I found it difficult to get consistent lap times around the back section as one small error costs you seconds come the end of the lap. I'm amp'd for the last race though, can't wait to finish on a high note. Many thanks Chance and Rage for all your work getting this series going. You're pretty cool... for Aussies anyway... :D

Yeah big thanks Rage and Chance, and our stewards in the shadows you guys have done an amazing job again even though iv'e been off the pace in the silvias have loved this series and look forward to sundays. This sunday will be a lot of fun and interesting to see how emu no chance and autech go good luck gentelmen and Aussies.

yes the track is tight and hard to pass. but think outside the square and think about pit strategy. mines sorted

I won't be able to attend sorry. Also I probably will not be able to attend any of the next series either. Good luck to all. I will keep an eye out on the thread still.

As I will not be able to attend I will share.

Everyone starts on Hards.

If you qualify poorly and start further back in the pack it may be harder to get good lap times.

If you find yourself unable to pass after a few laps and are stuck behind someone, you may be better off pitting early for the softs and then use those softs to make massive gains in clear air.

Once the softs lose enough rubber to the point where either, you cannot control the car, or the lap times you put down are slower than your hards lap time by about 1 sec, then you can pit for hards again.

Dependant on how much fuel you use, it may be beneficial to have an extra pitstop to get another 16L free fuel rather than waiting in the pits.

interesting theory Mr hat, but by doing that you will be using your soft tyres with a heavy fuel load and not maximising them to there full potential.

in this modern world of computers and communication it ks hard to believe but there are still problems getting a message across. the boys game has gone from stafford to Samford. only a 40 min difference but I guess close enough lol. as a result the race will now be 2pm in emuegg11 lounge. I should be there in time but just in case of traffic he will start qualifying and if I'm late will start at rear. sorry for the inconvenience. thanks Tim
