Meanwhile, no such issues which the game I've just installed in GT's place, mainly because I can actually save offline and there's actual singleplayer content (don't act as if GT League is sufficient, it's not).

for all who are still off. try to downgrade your ps4 and then update again to 5.03. i cant think of anything other.

I'd be incredibly surprised if an issue with GT's servers would affect Assassin's Creed Origins.

No connection in Sydney but on gamefaqs 5mins ago someone from New Zealand said they are working fine

Just to make it clear, it is a solution.
(Those who have already had success doing so are testament to that)
But currently you'll need a bit of luck on your side to make it happen.
The other "solutions" being put forward may work, but it seems it's little more than coincidence.

If ANY amount of 'luck' is involved then it is NOT a solution! It's not available at my location for whatever reason.
I have 3 major races to save the results from so I cant reboot.
I DO understand the video evidence thing these days though. Just cos the video SHOWS one guy shooting the other guy dead doesnt mean he actually did it. That's for the courts to decide.

What on earth are you on about?
Noone said just hit Reconnect and all will be fine.
But l guarantee you more people have gained access to the server by hitting the Reconnect button than any of these other obscure "fixes".

LOL thats like saying more people have managed to turn the PS4 on using the power button than waiting for a friend or relative to do it or for it to turn on by itself.
Logic:
Case A) WHEN a server is available pressing the reconnect button will work.
Case B) When a server is NOT available pressing the reconnect button wont work.
It's as simple as that. Of course people have success this way as pressing that button is the ONLY way to get reconnected other than restart game!
It's NOT a solution to a server being off-line though!

People, many people, all across the globe, are currently playing GT Sport online.
Please tell me how that equates to the servers being offline.
I get it's been a frustrating night.
But most people, believe it or not, have found an opening to the server by pressing the Reconnect button.
Seriously, it isn't even up for debate.
Otherwise the "sure thing fix" you want would be well known by now.
It is not a perfect solution.
But no question it's the most effective and successful answer we have at this point in time.

I tried to keep the app running to save my game. I tried reconnecting. It never worked. When I quit the game and restarted it, then it connected.
I suspect if you are trying to do the same as me, you will never connect, and you have to lose your game save by restarting the game.

I just tried the "reconnect" button 102 times. It had a different message only twice which said their were issues connecting to the playstation server.
I will try restarting PS4 now.
Well restarting PS4 did not work and lost my 6hrs of offline progress.

Still not working here, Canada. I've rebooted, restarted the app, spammed reconnect, watched netflix for a while, spammed reconnect again. I'm going to play something else. I already lost my progress anyway with the reboot. Disgraceful. At least give online saving priority.
