Judging by the impressions of the early access and now the mixed reviews, it seems as if I made the right call to skip this one all together back when they ''announced'' the unjustified always-online bollocks.

The way they've been touting about customization yet it's limited and dependent on which car you've chosen is quite disappointing. I expected more, honestly. Shoving online and AllDrive down people's throats was always a terrible decision - not being able to pause the game and not taking advantage of a photomode is a huge missed opportunity as well. Not to mention - what it seems like - the botched AT transmission.

6's and 7's aren't inherently bad scores, but hopefully they'll learn from their mistakes - unless EA chooses to close down the studio, as they have the tendency to do.

When a game gets mixed reviews like this one, its best to judge for your self. You never know, you might quite like it. (Keep that good ol' receipt around, though) I personally never form an opinion of a game based on what others say.

Besides, free DLC and updates and stuff. It'll get better ;)

I'm one of those that's ok with no MT, because AT in past games have generally been usable. But after seeing this...

...yet again ANOTHER epic fail by Ghost. If you're not going to include MT, at least program AT properly :banghead:

Based on the car setup, maybe it didn't lose enough speed to drop a gear? What if the driver had let off the accelerator and stepped on it again?

I remember experiencing moments(in HP 2010) when I exit out of a drift and the car regains a ton of speed without shifting up.

Uhhh what? Are you implying that the Underground era was the worst? Dude that was the reason why NFS became famous for. Not only because of supercars, but also because they were the first game series to feature urban car culture.

No no no...the undergrounds were the only "new age" need for speeds worth anything since the originals.

I know for myself at least, that I'm going off what Ghost has said, rather then what the userbase has said.

I'm going to Gamestop on Friday, so hopefully they'll have a demo up or something.

If it's the same as it was in the Beta (and from what I'm told it is) then you have to slow down a LOT to get the car to change down a gear. It's horrible to have your car automatically stay in 6th gear with no choice but to either put up with it or slow right down, change into 5th, then accelerate hard again only for it to go back into 6th and accelerate slowly after you've cleared the next corner.

In the Beta I had races on the freeway where my car was maxed out at around 140mph in 6th gear after a corner, it wouldn't go any faster due to the low revs. I forced it to change down into 5th by slowing down and it then accelerated up past 140 without any issues. It's an appalling system that needs fixing.

I wanted this game to replace my love for Import Tuner Challenge. All I have to say is ITC has nothing to worry about as it's still the best Import scene game avalible today even with its limited car count.

People, how do you think, why the blackpanthaa have front and back lights to buy in Skyline R34?

In my game, there's no lights to buy :( 0:43 moment

And in my game only 1 exhaust tip will actually change the exhaust sound!! Why?
There is like 6 or 7 different visual exhaust tips, but ONLY ONE OF THEM will change the sound! WTF!?

I don't know why you are most concerned with how an exhaust tip changes the sound of the cars. You asked the same relating question around 5 times now.

i really hope this game gets better with the post-launch content just like driveclub did. let's just hope EA dosen't f up like with rivals

If you are on the fence about this game just consider the facts which are:

-The majority of cars don't have the customisation levels seen on the BRZ/FRS/86
-Some cars have bugged headlights causing them to work like pop-up lights when they aren't
-Both consoles have unstable frame rates
-AI has extreme rubber-banding
-Constant phone calls (even when racing)
-Most cars don't go very low (still huge gaps between wheel and body)
-Always online, people are having connection issues as expected

If that sounds like your idea of fun then go for it otherwise I would recommend at least renting it first.

Hm...I really need to get my hands on someone else's PS4/XB1 and try this new NFS before I commit to my purchase. Thankfully I have a few more months until it arrives on the PC.

Finally! I just bought this game from "Gameslop"!
