I cracked up when the PC reveal video says "UNLOCKED FRAME RATE" Like wow what an amazing feature for a PC game in 2016.

More so if only 1% of PCs are able to run this game at release. To heck with unlocked frame rates if no one can actually drive a constant 60 fps.

As far as I'm aware regarding the unlocked framerate feature, both Ghost/Criterion and Black Box had a hard time working with Frostbite and has been capping their games at 30fps since.

People can give them a lot of hate for implementing these features too late, but at least give them credit to where it's due for actually listening to the community. Not many AAA titles, especially from EA, have this connection like what Evolution Studios are with Driveclub.

Yeah but PC games always give you the option to lock it to 60 or 30 if you want. It's just that now people with $10k PC's won't feel so ridiculous playing a game at 30fps.

>tying physics to framerate.
sounds to me theyre the issue and not the frostbite engine, it just shows the lack of care theyve had from release to release if they keep making it work but only if people yell at them to fix it. if literally every other game runs at higher than 60fps without it messing up whats stopping them apart from laziness?

Well now let's see what those haters will say about the game.

Manual Transmission= Will be in a later update for consoles and will be added in the PC release.
Wheel support= Just like the manual transmission.
60fps locked or Unlocked framerate= Just like the two above.
Almost Rivals was a full game and not with "free updates" to complete a short and uncomplete game.
NFS 15 It´s a wonderful game, yeah, but is a half game.
- We need a AI, there´s no AI.
- We need Manual Gearbox OMG it´s a RACING GAME Manual transmission is obviously necessary.
- We need NEW CARS n new PARTS of customization.
- Garage of 5 places? WHAT IS THAT. 5 places to a half-game.
- We need lobbys for RACES or an option to create custom races in the map. Even The Crew can do this.
- And please. a NORTH mark in the map. The mark of garage can´t be the signal to orient you in the map.
I enjoy this game but guys of EA, GHOST GAMES..if you read me, please LETS UPDATE THIS GAME EVERY WEEK before April pc Version.

and, sorry for my english, Im spanish :)
So.....what else can you say @ecbrother ? You can say that the physics may be bad but it's a arcade game. You can also say it's just a marketing strategy by EA but at least they're listening rather than other AAA video game developers/publishers (other than R*) who will listen but with a price. You got what you wanted. Manual, wheel support, and 60fps or unlocked frame rate. If you say anything about new cars and parts, well you just gotta wait including the added garage space. The offline mode (if you're a PC user) well sooner or later, someone will make a offline mod for the game. The AI on the other hand is continuing to improve for me as the game gets more and more updates.

The last two are not the issue for this game. Maybe sometime Ghost will add it but you just gotta wait.

Just because it's an arcade racer doesn't mean they can get away with crappy physics.

I think the 60 FPS thing is only for PC.

The offline mode (if you're a PC user) well sooner or later, someone will make a offline mod for the game.
I don't see it happening honestly since it doesn't seem to be very feasible.

Would you call Black Box lazy too? The Run used Frostbite too, but again was capped at 30 because they can't get their hands on Frostbite + tight deadlines. Same can be said for Criterion/Ghost.

The Battlefield and Battlefront games don't have a FPS cap. I think they need to start thinking about using a new engine for their racing games.
With almost 2 years of development, I think they finally got their hands around the engine. But yeah, it should have its own engine a la Black Box.

Yeah I've still never heard of a game tying the fps to the physics, it's just strange. Also the driving model in this game and Rivals is just weird, the cars handle like the jeeps in Battlefield

If they could make decent driving physics these games would be great as the visuals and audio are top notch. Audio is something so many racing games fail at but NFS Rivals has the most accurate engine sounds I've ever heard and from what I've seen this game sounds just as good.

Well now let's see what those haters will say about the game.
You seem to think that people making valid criticisms of this game are 'hating' it. While some of the problems have been addressed (30FPS lock on PC removed, no manual transmission etc.), there are still things that need improving or fixing. For example:
...Physics, Delays, Garage Size, AI, Spawning, Police, Online Only, Private Lobbies, etc.

Exactly  It's hilarious that the touted features are pretty much already standard in games back in the PS2 era. Manual transmission, 60 FPS and wheel support. Those should be in the game from the beginning. Kudos to Ghost for their effort, but we shouldn't have to ask for these in the first place. Shows you how much is wrong with gaming this generation really.

I don't know if I still feel like getting this game now. I'm just about finished with No Limits and this game just feels like an open world version of that. Some of the bodykits are identical. The career and online doesn't sound that inspiring. I'm also anti bad physics. Also having to get Origin just to play sucks. I think I'd rather get The Crew since it's quite cheap now and it offers a different style of gameplay.

yes because the issue has been there since 2011 and they still havent fixed it? thats just laziness. its literally only when theres an outcry it gets fixed.

I apologize for the previous post though. I went too far that time. Its just that maybe I'm annoyed on how people are just finding ways to not like the game and some are just plain stupid. I know the game still has problems but some people are just impatient these days.

Dude could all of you just stfu?

I believe you are missing the point of a discussion forum. If no personal insults are being thrown around, no-one deserves to be told to shut up.

I am aware Need For Speed has its flaws, but in an industry plagued with Season passes and various other micro transactions, no-one can deny the free support this title has been had after release has been anything less than commendable. Some may argue some features should have been included from release but Ghost Games were under pressure to get the console versions out before the holidays. Those additional sales from the end of last year may have been crucial for gaining enough revenue to ensure we are given future updates for free.

Agree completely with this, I'd also like to put a few more things into perspective for people, GT6 was not only delayed but also released completely unfinished and what was it ? 2years before PD released the track path editor which was also totally half baked, Also add the whole VGT thing how many cars still haven't been added to the game probably a good 3/4 of the list.

How about GTA V ? yep free monthly updates more or less but lets be honest now to afford this stuff you either need to grind or buy cashcards.

EA ghost however is adding new stuff all the time and improving an already fun game and the best part these free updates are entirely FREE.

Ghost might get some stick about the story of NFS2015 but we should look at it from this way as far as I can tell its a new and innovative way to tell the story the whole live action cutscenes I don't know about anyone else but I felt really immersed in the experience and that's what games are all about immersion and NFS2015 delivers that in spades.

The last NFS game had the same issue with the physics being tied to the framerate, it's not laziness that caused them to try and release it with the 30fps lock it's the fact that they didn't want to spend hours upon hours and huge amounts of money re-writing the engine to unlock it.

Saying "But all other games can go above 60!" means nothing if the engine they used locked driving physics to 30 as standard. Comparing it to other Frostbite games is inaccurate, the physics for driving are completely different to those for FPS games.

As it is I think it's fantastic that they have listened to the fans and managed to unlock it on PC as that must have been a mammoth task, especially in such a short time period. This is why having a dedicated PC team is such a good thing!

True. If Ghost were lazy they would have continued their trend by leaving this game like it was at launch and call it quits.

Free updates are most definitely a double-edged sword - only a few studios can permit themselves such a luxury. I fear, however, that because of the complete absence of paid DLCs we won't see any new cars or real-life parts - all because of licensing costs. :(
I'm not saying I disapprove of this maneuver, though: for once an EA game is devoid of DLCs (other than preorder bonuses) and microtransactions.

The story was full of narm, but was surprisingly worthwhile, especially since it doesn't take itself half as seriously as the other NFS installments who have such a thing. It actually kind of reminded me of ProStreet, a story about the rise of an amateur (street) racer to the top of the scene.

And if no one complained about these glaringly obvious problems, then nothing would have been fixed. It's not that we are going out and searching for these problems, they are presented to us. You like the game? That's all fine and dandy, but don't act like these complaints aren't valid.
