And if no one complained about these glaringly obvious problems, then nothing would have been fixed.

Nobody can say for certain whether this is true or not. I imagine a lot of the issues that have been fixed in patches were found by their QA a looooong time ago and they just didn't make it in to the initial release.

I understand that. I was just mentioning that if not one person was to say a single word, things would likely get overlooked. They are obviously taking into consideration the things that are causing the most uproar within the community, and without the community doing so, they likely wouldn't see a reason to fix something to please the players.

However, I disagree. A lot of these things likely could have made it in at release. Look at the photomode for example. I feel it's their design choices that has stopped them from achieving these things, not a time frame.

It's because they are using the driving model from battlefield, if you ever drive the jeeps in that game you will see the wheels turn quite slowly and then they take a while to return to a straight position just like they do in the Ghost NFS games. In a way it's better than having super twitchy steering that instantly goes from lock-to-lock but at the same time it's hopeless for dodging traffic at 200mph

I'm not finding the handling be an issue in an arcade racing game.

Then you have very low standards, I'm not talking about the realism of the physics but how the response is very slow and has a mind of it's own. People giving Ghost kudos for making the handling customizable between Grip and Drift when both are equally terrible.

It's bad after a lot of fiddling with the settings and testing by me, I'm not even going to talk about how I thought My DS4 was broken when I first draw the Civic in the first race only to find out that this actually was the actual handling.

I'm usually not harsh about arcade handling models but I can't remember playing worse.

I wouldn't consider my standards to be low, if I chose grid 2s handling over this, Than yes I would consider them low, but I honestly like the physics in this game. Apart from the braking, it doesn't actually feel like I'm braking.

Are you sure the game engine is the issue? I don't recall the last games feeling as clunky as this one.
Well Rivals is clunky, with traffic collisions and those weird "out of the blue" moments when the cars bounces off the barriers etc. and flies of the road. The Run is not any better.

Now Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted was smooth because Criterion used an engine called Chameleon. Now I don't know if it was their design or not, but it was way better. Those games didn't have any weird problems with handling or collision.

The main issue with the handling is that grip handling just doesn't exist. It's either drift or nothing. Setting the slider to full grip makes it understeer like crazy and you have to slow down much more for the corners. It shouldn't be faster to drift corners than it is to take the racing line smoothly.

That said I'm still finding it very satisfying to drift in this game. It does a very good job of making you feel like a drifting god sometimes!

This nails it 👍 my only gripe with drift is when exiting the drift the car becomes attracted to crashing which makes Drift chains near impossible.

This seems more pronounced in particular cars IMO. I recently switched my drift car from a 180 to an S15 and the S15 seems to be drawn to the barriers like it's magnetized when you attempt to exit a drift. It's very, very hard to exit the drift cleanly with that car. My 180, on the other hand, used to exit corners smoothly and in a straight line with barely any effort.

I think a lot of it is down to tuning but at times it seems impossible to fix it. :(

Weirdly enough it's the 180 I'm struggling with.

I've still got mine in my garage, I'll try and get a list of parts and a screenshot of the setup to see if that helps. It's on 700+ BHP so it's got quite a few upgrades.

Nice effort with the update, but the Snapshot Pro Mode is really underwhelming - mainly due to the fact that you can only take still shots of your car(s).

Thanks Mog, my 180 is a little less than 700 I think, have you got drift stability off?

If anything, the only thing I could think of as a way to take a picture of your car (or other cars) in motion is to have the ability to have a replay of some sort, something akin to how you can make a short clip in the PS4.

This game is practically drift or nothing in terms of handling.

Just got on board with this thing... How comes that the parts the Showcase Update added for the Foxbody Mustang don't show up for me?

They will only appear if you purchased the Foxbody after the update was applied to your game. If you purchased the car before the update you'll need to sell it and re-purchase it to get access to the new parts. Don't ask me why they did it like this, it's a really bad way of adding in the updates.

I can't remember off the top of my head, I'll let you know.
