Trust me you gonna enjoy being able to get busted at the lower level. Once you have a 400+ rated car you would never get caught, heat level 5 is just a joke

EDIT: Just got busted for the first time at level 3, it seems they've completely failed to balance the cops for the level of the car you're in as there is no way you could lose level 3 cops in my 214 rated car, they're all faster and much stronger than you. It's a shame that you have to resort to cheesing it by using jumps.

I think it is intentional to have ramps as a "cheesing mechanic" in Heat, they are basically the equivalent of pursuit breakers from Most Wanted/Carbon. It could also be a subtle reference to the end of Most Wanted 2005 where the cops don't follow the player as he jumps the bridge.

Okay, how do the Kill Switch Jammers work?

Literally the only thing in the game about them is that they exist, but mine didn't jam ****.

I haven't bought the jammer since I have yet to be killswitched. (According to Reddit, you have to press circle/B to activate it).

I don't think it was explicitly explained in Heat, but shutdowns can be easily avoided by ramming the patrol car or distancing your self from them quickly.

Is it ever explained anywhere why the city with a fascistic anti-street racing task force which will literally commit vehicular homicide with zero concern for collateral damage at night...

... has sanctioned street races across huge swathes of land every day during daytime?

Because they do not want show themselves in a light as FASRTF:). It hasn't been told straight away, but this what opening movie with drowned yellow Polstar meant in context. I guess.

I heard crews are limited for number of members, or it's only for the campaign?

Edit: Found, and have sent a request.

It's never explained in-game, though I do have a theory that spoils the main part of the story.

You find out later on that the cops are illegally impounding street racers' cars, then taking them to chop shops and exporting them. My guess is that the police use the Showdown to gauge which cars are worth going after. Granted, this is an extremely paper thin theory.

is anyone forming the crew for ps4?

There is already a crew set up

I have indeed had one set up since the game launched. I just haven't gotten around to making a thread yet. Speaking of which, if anyone's got an equivalent crew on XB or PC, shoot me a PM and I'll make it a megathread.

I'll get on that as soon as I'm done hunting down the last activities and collectables, which should be sometime this week. Events to follow sometime after that. You may want to get scared already.

Crews are indeed limited to no more than 32 people, which - depending on how popular the game becomes - could prove a bit of an issue in this case. But I say we (and this is me putting it in the most we-want-Most-Wanted-2 way I possibly can) smash through that roadblock when we get to it.

Upgraded the nismo gtr with a v12 engine swap, max ultimate parts and this was the biggest disappointment next to no pvp online matches. If anyone unlock the nismo gtr DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY BUYING OR UPGRADING IT!. The stupid pre order vette I used to farm way faster and handle better than that crap and I wasted a hour 1/2 running into stupid billboards for it. My 370z was faster than that piece of crap gtr.

Finally outrun Heat 3. I also remembered to use the gas stations unlike last time :)

Now up to Rank 11 and unlocked my KS i8 :)

I've seen a few people on reddit saying that their massive rep rewards were "for the crew", does anyone know what this means? I'm assuming it's something to do with crews collecting rep together but does it reward you in any way?

Looks like making my crew for the sole purpose of unlocking the FXX-K payed off.

full

With that out of the way, I can focus on unlocking the rest of the cars.

Anyone know how the daytime police chases are compared to the night ones?
It's hard to maintain heat at Day time, if you can keep it high enough it would be the same though, it's just the cops don't really try, at night the cops are everywhere and Chase you for simply having done a race at night even if they never saw you.

Meanwhile those level 3 heat races are savage since it easily turns into level 4 once the cops are on you:

I do find Chase's much easier as your car gets more powerful though, I guess the cops are the same standard throughout the game, because early in the game I found level 3 heat basically impossible.

Got to level 18 for the Corvette used the C63 for a few races and police chases gonna start grinding a few races with the Corvette tomorrow.

Does anyone know how to turn on the damage repair function on Xbox, I have it installed but I don't know the button.
