What is everyone's go to Off-Road car so far? and possibly Live Tuning settings, im struggling in the corners with my flat 6 swapped Exige

I know, this is a weird choice...but I'm using a McLaren 570S for most of my recent off-roading adventures. I got this to 383 and haven't swapped out the engine (and I don't plan to, either).

So far, I have done everything but can't do all the speed traps and worse of all, the drifting. Oh, the drifting. I can't drift if my life depends on it. Took all weekend to practice and can't even get 1 star.

Regarding speed traps, cars appear out of nowhere on the streets during the speed traps. I am not sure if this game got bugs.

Too bad this game does not have an auction house like Horizon 4. There are some nice cars and fantastic customization in this game, so I will keep the game.

Speed trap isn't too hard from my experience, get a high acceleration car like the 240ZG and it will blast through most with no problems. As for the drift zones, I think all you can do is just practice and try out more cars. I can't seem to drift any other car I tried so far but the Evo X works for me, it got me almost all 3 stars. Only miss out on the few on off road roads. I can share my configuration later but I think it is speedcross differential with drift tyres and suspension or speedcros differential and suspension with drift tyres.

It is recommended to use 400+ car for speedtraps. Watch some videos how others are doing it. It isn't hard just try and try until you made it.

I have officially completed NFS Heat! All achievements have been unlocked, and finally gotten my hands on this guy after that long grind on Sunday night.

Although I still need to unlock the other ultimate parts (currently at four) and have cars to collect, I can just take it easy and relax just like FH4. :D

Oh, and another thing. After playing for almost a week, I can say that the physics have been such a joy! This is coming from someone who hated NFS 2015's physics model. Although the FXX K EVO has this handling bug that locks up when turning too hard. Strange. :\

For Drifting in the 180sx(or any other car I've tried so far) its near impossible to hold a nice slide if you have anything less than Super engine parts, I find any RWD car with original engine, super and up performance parts, showcase diff & suspension, TC off High sensitivity steering and low downforce is good to go, you have to have a technique of once you initiate the drift you cant slam on or on and off the gas, a half trigger gas usually works well, then you sort of balance the gas and steering to maintain

Just completed the campaign, and while it was short and simple. I enjoyed the story line. Finally decided to try and do a race when my heat level was at 2. Finished the race with the cops on me, which gave me heat level 3. Got to that oval track, and jumped off that ramp, lost the cops and ran into my safe house. Slowly working on my rep, which is at 32 now.

My Viper is now around 360ish, but I'm still not sure what I want to run on those passive mods. I have that killswitch jammer, and the upgraded radar dissruptor. Once I get more comfortable running from the cops, I want to do those high heat races.

Only bad: not nerfing the 911 RSR.

But yeah, it's about time we get ahold of the game's poster boy. Speedwalls returning is nice.

That and I hope the save sync issues really are gone.. I haven't, no, I mean couldn't play online in 2 weeks now.

Pontiac Trans Am. I'm not sure how good it is compared to other cars, but you can do it up in a Mad Max style and that's worth it for me.

  • When you receive a volatile part from a high heat event and get busted before you enter a safehouse, you will now lose that part.

Well darn, but that's fair.

Looks like a good QoL update all round. 👍

I hope the next update will improve the photo mode.
-UI cannot be completely hidden.
-Car dirt cannot be turned off.
-Water drops on the lens cannot be turned off.
These three impede the enjoyment of photo mode. It is especially fatal that you cannot take a photo on a rainy day. A lot of water drops ruin my photos...:(

I picked this up during the Black Friday sales, my biggest pet peeve so far is that I had to switch to Auto gears because downshifts and bribes are both mapped to L1. :grumpy:

Lol. :D
SLOW DOWN!...AND GIVE ME ALL YOUR MONEY.

or to put it another way

a good description for the bandit cops in this game.

They need to fix the physics/hitboxes regarding collisions. Sometimes your car just gets sent to the moon after a hard bottoming out, and other times you launch a truck into the air. Other times, you stop dead even if you just grazed them.

Also some cars love to oversteer/slide at high speed, such as the NSX 2017 and Ferrari 488 GTB. I tried a myriad of different parts and settings, but honestly I think those cars just have that habit. In mean time I just lowered their downforce all the way to minimum to reduce these tendencies.

Is it possible to turn off exterior scratches? Does the car get paint scratches just from cruising around???

Is it possible to tune the car so it can roll down the hill slowly? I am not even using the brake. Right now, the car doesn't even move even on a 45-degree angle.

I wish they implement Replay Video after each race.

you can't, that is the "dirt" effect from Payback got change to scratches in Heat. Not sure why it doesn't get fixed when you drive through the gas station like in Payback, there is suppose to have a "dirt" option in the photo mode to get rid of it for photos but the option is missing too.

I wish they added KS Polestar parts for the standard car, not having it lock to a specific "hero edition" car. I want those fenders and hood on my Polestar,
The "Hero" Polestar uses it's own model that's separate from the regular Polestar. I assume that's why this is the case.

Really? That is really weird to have 2 set of body kit made to be interchangeable on the stock car then have another set made as a separate car model.

I'm assuming same thing happen to the rest of the "LE" cars bodykit and NPC cars exclusive kit.

AFAIK, all the K.S cars have their own exclusive body kit, and same for the LE cars (with the exception of the M3), the only thing it can solve that problem is allowing us to mod those cars (at least let us change the liveries)... :(

On a side note, wish me luck today on my language test, I based my text on this game, so it's definetely going to be a close A :D

I know about Deluxe KS cars are locked but I was under the impression they want it that way as a "reward" for deluxe edition owners, locking the LE and NPC cars body kits is just dumb. Considering the R34 and 350z could really use more parts in this game.

That reminds me, I bought a 180SX for a drift build, and even though it's at ~Lv.180 with ~300hp, it's a fishtailing mess. That's definitely staying in the garage at night. :embarrassed:
