If it wasn't for SWBF2 backlash, I sincerely doubt any major changes would have been done to NFS: PB. ''We've been listening to your feedback'', yeah, nice try saving face.

They were likely already working on the patch before the SWBF2 controversy even started, there's no way they would have gotten it out by the 22nd without doing so.

When they add cops to the single-player free-roam, that's when I stop playing the game. The cops are simply brutal, just as brutal as Rivals only without that much fancy weapons tech. At least, let me free roam in peace in single-player. If people want to be smashed to bits for every minor offense online, so be it.

I completely agree, cops in free roam would be horrible. I actually detest doing the Runner missions because the cop AI is just so crazy it never feels like I'm in a police chase, more like a demolition derby. It slows the pursuits right down.

EDIT:
Patch has just gone live!

Yep, currently installing a 4.47GB Patch (Xbox One X), curious to see what changes have been made to speedcards, hopefully derelicts don't take an age to upgrade now.

You cannot afford to approach any remotely tight corner with even the slightest bit of care and patience because you will be annihilated. They smash you so hard, against their own roadblocks, that they wreck themselves. My favorite ones are when you go take a corner that has no guard-rail on the cliffside. Doesn't matter, the cops just go "Perhaps today is a good day to die!" and go with you flying off. Even more amazing is when you see the arrows of the cops that went off with you rejoin the road below (somehow ).

I only have one extreme build derilect so far so i can't say this for all of them.

However, I think it is incredibly awesome that you you extreme the C10 off-road, and... still change up parts!!

I was scared once i extremed it, it would be stuck forever with those mirrors, and light bar. But i like the fact that its not all "locked in" after you get it. So many games in the past lock everything after wide body or extreme install. Don't like the wing for that widebody? To bad..

Not with this game!!

Now.. is there a way yo get 2 beetles? I want to build an off-road and a drag out of the beetle.

Thats great news. I was curious about the super builds in that way.

And yeah, you can have the same car in different classes. I have a race beetle, an off road one and a drag one.... you need to find and build all 5 then you can buy them

This patch just contains bug fixes and progression tweaks, no cars or major features.
What were the tweaks? Anything good or just house keeping (there are a few graphic bugs such as the mini map when you load into the game wor;d being fuzzy for a couple of seconds).

They haven't listed any specifics but it now loads much quicker and you get a lot less pop-in when first loading the game. I've also noticed that the UI re-appears almost as soon as you respawn after a crash which is good.

Quicker loading times is something I'd be pretty happy with. Forzza 7 is much bigger and yet it loads so much faster then Payback.

With this game its a case of starting the game and going away for five minutes while it loads. Appreciate any improvement on that.

Five gig seems rather big for fixes unless it includes DLC that will appear down the line.

Just did 2 ranked events, placed 2nd in both, didn't win a single race against derelects and hyper cars but managed several upsets in my impreza and 180sx. I still believe the car classing is broken considering if you don't have a regera, p1, etc you're kind of screwed.

I'm not sure what exactly changed about the system but I'm still able to get worse parts.

Honestly, something like this shouldn't even be happening. You should always get a part that's at least one level higher than what you currently have.

I'm finding that I'm still getting bad parts after events and the stock in tuning shops feels the same as it was before, too. The only difference is that my spins are now returning worse results consistently. :( It doesn't feel like the changes worked to me!

Me too, I ran a GT-R from stock to max and I noticed that getting barely or no upgrade to the previous parts would happen often. Prior to the update I noticed the maximum jump in part levels was around 2 or 3 but now I've gotten a jump of 4 twice. Not too sure how this update has really worked out but I wouldn't exactly say that odds of getting good gear are improved besides the part spins which seem to be getting more lots of perks that are 2 or 3.

I've noticed the same, but it feels like I'm consistently getting parts of the same lvl and same perks as currently equipped parts

Which platforms are you playing on? A few people on reddit have posted about having a similar experience and so far they're all on Xbox, the same as me.

I'm on PC 👍 Just played then tuning a Golf clubsport to max. Same thing, pretty much relied on the tuning shops to provide upgrades. A pattern on the previous update where the game would reward you with a part for your lowest equipped slot isn't as common. (If that made sense

On ps4... haven't noticed a difference either. Honestly though, for me, it seems like 3-5 hours of gameplay (not "grinding" i hate that word) to get a car near its max level. I kinda like that, i know that the gaming community has become incredibly cynical, but i think it is ok that they want us to actually spend some time playing the game. In the past i would just mod a car drive it for ten minutes then do another and after a week i had all the cars and almost no reason to play the game.

I am over 61 hours of time into this game, have finished the story, found all relics (or whatever they are called) and am now just building my dream garage from the bottom up. Have felt and see absolutely no reason to spend real money on anything, have come to appreciate the card sytem (i would still rather have a straigh up parts system) and am still having a great time. This game is not perfect but i fell like if it wasn't an EA product people would less complainy about it. Just my feels....

Note: nfs is the ONLY, EA product i buy. I stopped buying their sports games more than a decade ago and have no interest in shooters or other non car games as a whole, i guess.

Slight rant, over.

Should I be worried about these new changes to the part system? I've seen blackpanthaa's new video on this and it seemed like he wasn't having much trouble at all with the new changes and that buying the parts through the shop instead of rolling for new parts with part tokens seemed more efficient. Hope it isn't as bad as everyone is making it out to be. I kinda had a feeling that when they said they were going to make changes to the part system to make it progressively better, there was still going to be problems. Now hearing all of this, I'm a bit concerned about the new changes.

Need for Speed has always been my main racer when it comes to arcade racers and about most of my games from EA consists of Need for Speed titles and since I've been growing up with the games since Need for Speed III, it's been impossible for me to skip a new NFS release even if a NFS game seems bad. And for that especially with me liking Payback despite some of its problems, some people have called me a fanboy for that which doesn't even make sense to me because I always view fanboys as insecure people who can't take criticism from someone that's about their favorite franchise and will never acknowledge their favorite game series's problems and will insult anyone who dares to say something bad about their favorite games. Heck I even thought NFS 15's storyline and handling was crap though I thought the customization was decent at best.

Also another thing. Before Battlefront II's problems even existed, I use to think EA wasn't a bad company at all especially when they let Ghost Games return NFS to its underground days with vehicle customization and more tuners and everyday cars as well as having DICE go back to the golden days of fps games when we had more World War shooters by Releasing Battlefield 1 which takes place in World War I. However after looking at BFII 2017's problems, it has drastically changed the way how I view EA to a more negative view. Now I see why people say their so greedy. And why people hate them. Even as a diehard NFS fan, this still affected me. Why did this all had to happen, all for the sake of greed over quality? This is freaking criminal. You should not be putting F2P mechanics like pay to win in full priced games!

I think because of all of this, I might end up buying future NFS games pre owned or used or whatever. As much as I love supporting this series as well as Ghost Games as I think they are now currently the most underrated NFS developer team, I do not want to give my money in to a company who has fired someone for disliking the idea of pay to win models in EA's games. If only ghost games wasn't part of EA.

^ not sure what there is to be worried about, a handful of fun game sessions to build a car seems fine to me. If i was not having fun on the other hand, and maybe some people are not, then i guess thats an issue.

I have disliked EA for a long time, but i have a car problem (hot wheels collector) so i still play nfs and i am to impatient to wait and buy it second hand.

I don't think you need to worry about them, the game is still a lot of fun and your cars can still be upgraded by doing a few events. It just feels like the patch may not have changed much for some people is all. I'm just a bit salty as the RNG was definitely in my favour before the patch and now it's really screwing me over ;)

That is good to know. Because I'm trying to get my 240z to super build and trying to get to lv 300 can be a bit time consuming. Hopefully these changes will do me good.

It also doesn’t help that people are constantly giving different reports because of the RNG. Some people are saying they’re able to fully upgrade a car within an hour’s time. Others are saying they are frequently getting bad cards, like you. It’s just a mess.

For me so far, it’s been a mixed bag.

A few days ago I had an amazing few hours where I constantly got cards multiple levels above my current ones with 2-3 perks attached. Ah, those were the days...

Yeah it seems they nerfed the card system.. ugh...

EDIT: Sorry, I misread the first post.. I get it now. ALL 5 must be complete before you can build 1 derilect in 2 different classes..

I still think the card system is pretty garbage, and considering it's a card system why can't we use the cards we collect on different vehicles of the same class? I have 22 cars and only 2 of them are of use.

So I decided to get to the bottom of this.

I bought a stock Nissan 180SX from the Race delarship, equipped the best parts available in the Tune-Up Shop, and grinded the Midnight Run event. My goal was to see how many races it would take to get the car to level 299, the highest level it can reach, and I kept track of everything in the spreadsheet here:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...PH8cvpof72By_0x9l7DIB9Rma-PLkOSkyvfqS/pubhtml

My results were that after 33 races, the car reached level 299. 7 of those races gave me a speed card that was either worse than or the same as whatever I had currently equipped. So throughout this, I got a better part most of the time. Obviously, your results may vary but I plan on doing this with every new car I buy from now on. The point was to put into perspective how often I got better or worse parts.
