Guys I am nowhere near fast enough yet but would like to be included in this weekends races?

It's ok you can go in Shams lobby ha ha ha haaaaa.

Actualy thats not even because he's started using manual and he's flying. We had a mess about the other night I was only averaging a 1in6 win ratio. Well done mate.

Totally understand what your saying mate. Just seeing bad moves on the track makes my blood boil as I'v proved in the past.
And I'll learn to keep my bid fat south Derbyshire mouth shut in future.

Jay,my friend,I thought it was implied mate my words weren't ment for you...you're already a war veteran and a much apriceated person and driver:tup:
I just quoted you because the answer I was aiming was directed at you and I've found it unrespectable and that bothered me...
Even if you haven't joined in the early beginnings of the league you are already one of the pillars that sustains this league going-I even refered to you as a League staff member:lol:

So sorry if my post wasn't clear mate you are one of the guys I was refering I intended to race for a long time no matter in which game it is...👍

 (I don't do this very often so it's really a compliment)
:gtpflag:

I know man and thanks. I do go on one though. Anyway I don't feel to good today so i'm going to bed.

Call me Turtle mate :) And thanks for all the advice and the neumerous laps. Wish I could get more time to practice for the weekend races!

I have a few more questions about using manual gears.

1. I know I have asked this before...but whens the best time to change gears. When the orange indicator goes on or just before the orange indicator goes on.

2.Whats the sequence....brake, gear down or gear down followed by braking. I mean in real life its mostly the former, isnt it ?

3. Are there times when you guys gear down three gears in quick succession. I seem to do that a lot ...and several times i end up in first gear :) I know its probably mad.

4. For the guys who use G25 whats the speed sensitivity setting?I did research online but I have to say the EA defenition is very confusing. Also what % do you guys use for accelerator, brake and steering?

Also I have a request for the Outlaw. Mate could you please consider posting a video like the Pagani one but focusing on the steering wheel instead of the pedals. I know I am doing something wrong but I am not quite sure what? I somehow find myself losing control on turns and always end up over adjusting.

Also lastly, I have to say it feels awsome to be part of this amazing group. I enjoy the rants but possibly love even more the anger and arguments that keep flying about. I am just thankful that I am not at the butt end of it at :)

Love the dynamics and I am proud that I am a league member!

Speak to you soon girls!!!

PS: Gareth you need to get in to manual mate. With a bit of practice we could kick their asses.....someday!

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

sure mate i tell you what i will make one for you tomorow were its just the wheel and then a small cam on the actual race.

as for gear changing i usually shift up on the orange light when i dont have time to look at the dial but when i am on a long straight i squeeze every last bit RPM i can most of the cars show the orange light to change but in fact will rev another 1,000RPM and still pull power.

As for down shifts it all depends on the situation sometimes i may gear down before i brake or sometimes the oposite your best experimenting see what feels good to you and keep working with it to perfect it.

i also drop down the gears on the H pattern so i can use the engine to slow the car a little meaning i dont have to use the brakes and kill the cars momentum.

the speed sensitivity makes the car more stable to steer at high speed and long straights but weakness turn in speed i set it to 0%.

well looks like a i better get warmed up as this Zonda is a hand full in stock form and the G25 and my heavy foot but i love it its such a thrill to drive the wheel really goes crazy.

nice one stevo new tracks and cars this week too i think ?
I will sort out the downloads before Saturday.
I'll see you in the "slow lobby".

I will hang around at the back of the pack :( i was comparing my times in the Gayardo at Laguna Seca? I am six seconds a lap slower at the moment using auto transmission and only my left arm steering.

Javed (TURTLE) ,my friend,I will give my two cents to some of your questions about manual gearing ,and Jay is right and I guess you've noticed-YOU CAN BE MUCH FASTER,I think this is true even on shif(t):) in its arcade driving style, and above all ,despite some modern cars:) featured in the game have also automatic gearing I always found it to be a granny's thing:):

1-Usually I gear up with maximum revs just before the cut kicks in...

2-Usually I break, gear down, break a little more and gear down again...but sometimes entering fast corners I gear from 6th to 5th first just to nose down the car then break hard(if needed)and just before the apex shift to the gear in which I know I must exit the turn...with slower cars-the Ring in the scirocco and Manny advices strike my mind) sometimes you don't even have to break(this is when SHIF(T):) compromises realism and becomes an arcade racer) just gear down and profit from the breaking horse power of the engine without even touching the breaks...

3-I do that a lot also speccialy if I miss a breaking point and break to late and yes some corners I take in 1st gear(La Source-hairpin before the finish line- at Spa comes to my mind)

But I think that there are faster drivers out there which also own a wheel that can advice you better.👍

Sorry about all the ranting going on ,that shouldn't be happening, you're right, since this is a friendly league but some things must be said...

P.S: What the heck happened to RABBIT:) , where did he travelled this time?
Or maybe he is in some lost paradise entertaining himself with the native's hospitality;):P:embarrassed: and don't givig a 🤬 about SHIF(T), the lucky 🤬:odd::mischievous::cool:

Here's when you should change gear.

Ha ha haaaaa thats 1st 2nd & 3rd in my own car. It has no shift light so you need to know where every will rev to without hiting the limiter. Us the whole rev range man.
I find on car like the SLR,GT,Viper and such like you can change up before the limiter due to the immense torque they produce.
I use the brakes as less as possible to maintain stability. On the section before the straight on the ring the other day you was braking into the esses. I just drop it a gear as I'm about to turn then hit the power as i I'm turning. This slows me enough for the turn and throws the weight of the car nicely to power through perhaps even with bit of drift. But if I'd of hit the brakes it would of tranfered to much weight to the front causing it to be going wide.
Racing lines play a huge part in going fast as many know I chase my pray observing there lines and working out where I'm quicker to make a pass then do so. And if the pray is a quick thinker they can adjust there line to take the position back on the next turn. (As Aldo demonstrated in the lotus at brands)
I change my lines all the time to try and up my advantage.
I shouldn't tell people this but here is a poor scribble of a line I like to use to get the edge on people down certain straights. Most will go for A if so I choose to late brake and go for B.
(Speed is not actual. Only as a rough guide as I don't pay attention to speed only revs)

I hope I haven't confused you more as I'm not the best person to explain things clearly.

nice advice i just watched that video again and you must have been burning fresh air in that st170's engine  i dont think my car would even start on that much fuel but at the same time i still use the 1.6 fuel tank so £26 fills it just about its a bit of a nightmare on track to be honest as i get so carried away i forget to check the fuel gauge then all of a sudden my car would just cut out and leave me stuck at the side of the track and some tracks give you a fine for it if it happens to much.👎

lol With that much fuel it still had 40 odd miles left my mrs just put normal unleaded in I was getting it as low as possible before filling it with £45 of tesco high octain.

which guys were doing re races was it just arvore ?

I'm not sure Drifty Fast 1:) ,but I think Coey was also racing for points...

Thats why I can't ear you guys during the races...I keep my surround very loud so I can ear the engine-I don't even look at the rev counter I guide myself by the engine sound...

My mrs keeps turning mine down as she came home one day thinking the sound of touring cars was bellowing over the hill from Donington till she opened the front door and shouted "turn it down"
I shouted "you what"

I believe coey87 needed to do the first and last races.

This sounds just like me and my wife! Until I was practically forced at gunpoint by my wife to get some headphones. I've got a 600w surround sound with a sub-woofer that you could use as a coffee table. When it was turned up it would rattle the dishes upstairs.

Ha ha haaaa I'm using a 5.1 technics hifi with a sony sub added on as well.

I have my eye on some KEF speakers + sub and a Denon 7.1 AVR unit.

Treky you have no chance of doing those races now... Sorry

OK Guys important information for you all.

From now on we will be introducing a 3 warning system into the league much like baseball 3 strikes and YOUR OUT!!!

This way by introducing punishments the innocent party does not suffer and the other does not get away with it.

Now the warning system will work like this

1st warning is more of a friendly heads up over miner things.

2ND warning is a proper warning this warning means we are not happy with your driving/attitude and you must shape up and improve of you will be banning you from the league.

3rd warning well we all know what the 3rd will mean.

A warning on any of these 3 levels can come from either your driving manner or your attitude toward fellow league members so respect must be shown both on and off track, if you have a problem in a race come on the forum in a calm manner explain the satiation in a calm and friendly manner and wait for a response, a lot of these incident have understandable explanations behind them.

But please note if we feel like the attitude/ driving manner of a person deems to just be too unfit for the league we can opt for an automatic dismissal from the league.

I hope you all understand, this will hopefully change attitudes on track and in the thread.
At the end of the day we all want our name to be 1st on the leaderboard but we also want to have fun were are all friends so lets act as such while on track and in the forum.

Right now I have a Denon 2805 with 7.1 surround and a Paradigm 2200 sub, my favorite time is when the wife is out of the house and I can blast a good Unlimited race. Since my system is hooked up to the main Home theater I'll often watch the league races through the system when my wife is reading, her favorite is when the Hog goes into a tirade when he makes a driving mistake  But sadly the system will have to go into one of the spare rooms when I get the playseat & G27 :indiff: as persuasive as I am I couldn't convince the wife a color matched playseat would go with her decor :)

That definately is hysterical, (although small children, and even some of the more sensitive adults should be escorted from the area beforehand) I have to say my favorite was when Aldo got disconnected. That frickin scream had me in stitches. My wife called down, "What the he** are you watching?!"

I have to say as long as you don't turn the bass up too loud, the Turtle Beach P21 Headset & Mic for PS3 is really excellent. It has full over-the-ear cups and you can actually hear both the game and the voice-chat at the same time without distortion. It's not cheap, but well worth the cost in my opinion.
