need help GT World Championship

Now I'm stuck on mission 11. Hehe. anyways, I'll get through it. Thanks folks.
My advice would be to skip over a few missions and come back to the touch ones later. The only missions i haven't completed so far are 11,12,13,14 and 34:crazy:

Sorry folks to rant on the topic, but I read the title and I thought it would fit: I've got through every series so far in Beginner and Proffessional with the RUF GTR (fully tuned) with 596hp (except for special series). I got to the GT World Championship and found myself falling behind very fast :). All I have is 180 000, and I did the math: it would take 200 times of the Supercar series to aquire 4 500 000 credit. hehe... so maybe not such a good idea.

More to the point: is there any racecar capable of winning the GT world for under 1 million?

The Chaparral 2J costs 1 million, and is capable of cleaning up GTWC for 200 points per race in the hands of a capable driver. However, if you're struggling with the missions, and have relied on a 600HP RUF to get you through all the races in Beginner and Professional hall, then I don't think you'd be up to the challenge. This is the first series (and possibly the hardest, more so than the ones in extreme hall to be perfectly honest) in the game where you face a field of race cars and you'll have to be running more-or-less perfect laps to hang with them. It's the first point in the game that you cannot simply "tune" your way out of trouble! 👍 Myself I did it in a stock Bentley Speed 8 Race Car, and it was easy enough, but we see time & time again folks arriving here claiming that they still can't win this event in a Stage 4 turboed Toyota 88C-V or Nissan R92CP with over 1000HP. This certainly isn't the fault of the car, but the driver! :) Perhaps the best advice one can really offer here, is to practice. Practice the licence tests which have you drive Le Mans type cars, and try to at least get silver (if not gold) times with them. This'll teach you throttle control, braking distances and cornering techniques to handle the MR layouts and awesome power of these beasties! It also encourages you not to rely on driving aids (I'm not saying you still do, but just in case ;)) as these will really cripple your laptimes in a race car of this type. ASM ahould be set to 0, and TCS, well 1 or 2 at the most if you feel you need it.

Your other best option if you're short of cash (I should kick myself for pointing this out) is to win the Opel Speedster races in the Opel Dealer. You'll need an Opel Speedster (not the turbo one as it's heavier!) and lighten it, equip medium race tyres and stage 3 or 4 turbo to compete! For this you'll win an Opel Calibra Touring Car. With this you can enter the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft in the European Hall, and if you qualify for each race and can drive about 5 or 6 lap races cleanly, you should win the series. For this you'll get your hands on a an AMG Mercedes CLK GTR Race Car, which has also been used to win GTWC in stock form, by a capable driver! (You could sell the prize car for over 700,000Cr too!)
Or to prevent you winning the Supercar Cup over and over again. Take your RUF to Special Conditions hall, enter Capri Rally Easy Event. 2 laps forwards and 2 laps reverse (about 8 minutes in total) wins you 10,000Cr prizemoney and a Toyota RSC Rally Raid Car, worth over 1/4million Cr. Do this 4 times (should take about 40 minutes) and you now have over 1,000,000Cr to spend.
I deplore this strategy though, and have only recently started to use it to make the money to buy the 200 or so cars that are missing from my collection, and only allowed myself to even consider it after I'd hit 100% completion.

Last but not least, if you're anywhere near 694 - 700 in-game days then a little over 1.2 million Cr will buy you the Black Used Mazda 787B race car from the Early 90's used car lot. This will take on GTWC with ease after an oil change and chassis refresh. ;) Try a search for Black Beauties if you're not familiar with this car (there are 3 others too.)

Hope that helps. Have fun.

I would +REP you for that great response Smallhorses but seeing as I recently REPed you in another thread, as expected I got the:

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Smallhorses again.

:ouch:

Perhaps you'd feel better if you looked at it this way. The reason for running Costa di Amalfi is that it's a fun course with gorgeous replays that allows you to get a look at your car in a different way than if you took it to the ring or something. Especially in a convertible it's nice since the top is down on the replay. The side effect of gaining a quarter million credits every time you do a few laps worth of testing on this excellent track is a nice bonus - but not the real motivating factor.

Enjoying the Citta de Aria (Normal) and the George V (Normal) tarmac tracks in a variety of cars can also leave you with some spare change after three laps in each direction. All of these courses really let you know how precise the handling of your car is. I think you're doing yourself a disservice by avoiding certain venues simply because they pay too well! (Though I know you are simply trying to avoid repeating yourself)

And Mike B, there's no need to slaughter the competition here in a RUF. Most 200 hp cars have an easy time with Amalfi, 300 hp will pretty much clinch a win. Give every car in your garage a go - it will be enjoyable, educational, and lucrative :) A RUF will certainly do the trick though, if that is your only car at the moment.

Hey guys thanks for the advice... instead of repeating series, I did stuff like the Japan cups and European.

Agreed :).

I've been at it all day, and I'm at 20.4% with 2.4 million credit.

I'm aiming for the Mazda 787b. Am I overdoing it(?) or is there a better/cheaper car to go for.

//Edit: sorry AlfaAlfa, missed your post. I know I overdid it a bit, but at the time 100 000 seemed like a lot of credit! I went and bought it anyways. I had been using a 96 RX 7 with a bit of tuning for most of the beginner and proffesional. Only until the Tuning Car cup did I need a better car.

:embarrassed: Well, I must admit to preferring to run the Nurburgring 4hrs, New York 200 miles or El Capitan 200 miles (I have 3 different 200 point runs at the latter in 3 different stock cars!) Now I'm 100% complete my aim is just to buy and drive every car in the game! (And never touch B-spec! :yuck: ) It's expensive, but I currently own 525 cars, and have driven all but 60 of them so far. Trouble is, I need to raise over 72 million for the rest of them!! :ouch:

Smallhorses, it's going to be amazing when you get all the cars without ever having used b-spec!

Mike B - You are almost there! The 787B from the Mazda dealership might be a little more expensive than some other choices (like the "black beauties" Smallhorses mentioned, or winning a Toyota Minolta) but is nevertheless a good and solid way to take on the GTWC. If you take your RUF to Schwarzwald Liga B, the prize car there will add 370,000 credits to your total... (if you haven't done that already) :)

Wahoo! Got the 787B. I found a European Cup who's prize was a crappy old Rally Car worth 370 000 (approx.) credits. Only 5 races, most with only 2 to 3 laps.

Anyways... I missed the World Cup by a hair. In the the last three races I couldn't pull it together and ended up getting 3rd, 2nd and 3rd. I also had a 3rd place finish earlier in the series, the other racer had all 2nd and 1st places.

I spent all night saving money for the car, and now I just finished losing the World Cup :P. I'll try again later, but thanks again guys for all the help, much appreciated.

//Edit: LOL, missed your whole statement on the Schwarzwald cup thing, that's exactly what I found last night (forgot the title). Also the Japan cup and British cup had a prize car in the 200-300 thousand range, and I did those.

Thats good to hear. You should find it easier the 2nd time round as you will be more used to the car and how to tackle each of the tracks. I quite enjoy running this series in a number of different cars and usually don't find it to difficult but i certainly struggled on my first time through as well.

There are no events in European Hall that offer a Rally Car as a prize.
The Schwarzwald Liga B races have the car that you're probably talking about as a prize. :dopey:
The AMG Mercedes 190 E 2.5 - 16 Evolution II Touring Car '92, which is most definitely not a rally car, but a DTM (German Touring Car) which would've got you entry to the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft event which had a prize car worth about 700,000 Cr!
The AMG Mercedes 190 E 2.5 - 16 Evolution II Touring Car '92 is also far from crappy. It can beat the DTM & JGTC events with relative ease, again in the hands of a capable driver, in stock form. ;)
Have you thought about consulting the game guides? There's a tab under the GT Planet banner at the top of your screen. It'll tell you about the races, how many laps they are, what the prize money is, and what you'll win as a prize?

Where are you based MikeB? It'd help us if you put some info in your profile. There are easy lineups to face and hard lineups to face at GTWC, but it depends if you're PAL region or NTSC region as to when they appear. If you're just interested in beating this series as easily as possible, (as I suspect you are :indiff:) then we could let you know how. Personally I prefer a hard & challenging lineup, which is why I went up against the lineup about 7 or 8 enter/exits in on NTSC version, which has all Group C cars as competition. :D

What might help you the next time is that you can exit a championship, save (and do an oil change) and then go back to it.
One could consider this cheating, but it could save you from having to do the whole championship all over again.

Alright. I entered in the championship again, but this time the cars weren't as fast as the previous ones (weird, I know). I smoked the competition lapping most.

I found I had a major problem with tires. On average I could go only about 7 laps, while everyone else would usually go around 11 or 12. I was winning by so much it didn't matter anyways though.

This isn't in the slightest bit weird. It's totally normal in fact. :dunce:
Have a look in this thread that was found in the FAQ section it lists the first 52 lineup combinations in the PAL version for GTWC.
Whadda you know? They're all different! :dopey:
It works the same for NTSC although the order varies slightly. ;)

I won the GT world championship with the CLK-GTR about 2 months ago in my 2nd save my first save was when i got the game in May 2005 but it corrupted and i got a DFP about 3 months ago so im back into the game but yea anyways i dont remember what car i used the first save but the 2nd save i did it about 2 months ago with the CLK-GTR my Hardest comp in the race was the C9,R92CP,Minolta but i managed what i recall it went down into the last race between me and the C9 i managed somehow i recall a few races so here they are, i know i finished P2 at TOkyo with A-spec Pescarolo won because it had better tyre wear rate then me, i think i finished 5th or 6th at hong kong with b-spec a-spec im even more hopeless at that track then he is.
I won Seoul A-spec, at El Capitan i know i ran good in lap 1 but spin outs etc pushing too hard put me into i think i forget it was the bottom 2 spots i think so 5th or 6th A-spec,De La Sarthe my car was MUCH faster down the Mulsanne then they were i know i was doing about 410+km/h i won there but i was starting to worry about my tyres as i dont know which i used on the rear i think i used Hard on Rear Med on front because the race was only 2 or 3 Laps? so i was worried the pescarolo would catch me which once i again did not pit but neither did i, i think but i won it in A-Spec, Suzuka I know was the thoughest after many many tries and being frustrated i won it the main reason it was hard was because the CLK-GTR is so big and powerfull it was hard to get a perfect run on all the "S"s and some of the other turns with Super Hards on the back but somehow the others were slower this time and i did it and won it in A-spec, Opera paris i let my b-spec driver do it as i couldnt drive the CLK-GTR around that track it didnt suit me and the B-Spec driver was great not many mistakes and beat all the others so it was P1 there, Fuji I think i finished 2nd to the C9, Nurburg (If it is there) i think i finished 2nd or lower to the C9 not sure and i cant remember the others but thats all and i ended up winning the whole thing by 1-4 points against the C9 with the CLK-GTR with Stage 4 Turbo but i have still yet to go back and do the races again to get wins in them i think ive done one and won it with the FGT but ill leave it till later.

*wheew* I'm out of breath just reading that. Full stops (periods) are your friends, and so are paragraph breaks once in a while. You have to slow down for the corners or your readers are going to fly right off the track.
;)

I should :) but I just never think about doing it :S.
But Yea The GT world Championship is hard maybe the hardest series but I guess a game should always have something hard in it :D, Yea I sort of did get frustrated at Suzuka but that race took alot of tries and a few days to fully Get lucky and not go into one of those gravel traps by which time you get out of, you have no chnace of winning in that race.

You could if you had a faster car but me using the CLK-GTR up against C9,Minolta,R92CP is hard on Suzuka as pushing hard out i just have enough speed to hold the lead making a little mistake on that track will cost me the win 75% of the time if im up against this competition.
But I am not the Best Suzuka Driver :S either, I also cant Drive Hong Kong Or Opera paris really well, Opera i can if i have a car that suits me but not in a CLK-GTR.

I used the Mazda 787B, Its cheaper than the LMP1 cars by 1 mil credits.

I always take the practice mode to get the first place in qualifying, then I start up from the front of the pack. At first, the Nissan R92 and some other cars will go ahead, but the braking on this car is better and can brake later. I finished the race around 10 seconds before the 2nd place car.

For the tyres, I chose super-soft for the qualifying. For the racing, I used the Medium tyres up front and Hard tyres on the rear. With this setup you can run the races without pitting.

Hope this helps

Just so you know, the last post in this thread was over 2 years ago. Be careful reviving topics. [understatement]Moderators tend to get a bit miffed [/understatement].
Glad you got the race done though.

:idea:I think they should have switched the Gt world series with the Gt All Stars. I think it's weird how they didn't.

Do you mean GTWC should have been an Extreme event because it's more difficult?

Anyhow, I wish there had been more events like the GTWC, it was by far among the most fun races in GT4 for me. Very challenging for sure, but in a very good and fun way.
