need help GT World Championship

Hey, im a newb here and i only got about 33% done. Im not the greatest driver, :) but i did manage to finish all the license tests. What car would you suggest i use?

Since Mr Slow's SEVEN recommendations obviously weren't enough you could check HERE for Four PAGES of THREADS at least half of which should give you hours of enjoyable reading about the Series.

Short Answer: There is NO MAGIC CAR nor MAGIC SET-UP needed to win the GTWC! ...O.G. :D

"The Game always makes me race the Sauber"
Don't make me laugh, the opponent pool for GT World has over 20 cars! (22 i think)

On a separate note, I am interesting in trying to get my B-SPec driver to run this series, but at the moment he is not experienced enough to come anywhere better than fourth on most races and due to his driving style pits earlier than most of the other cars. How many points would you suggest before he will be able to win this series?

The key behind winning the professional GT World championship is in the settings of the Toyota Minolta car.
1. The car wears the back tires out to fast so use racing hard on the back only, medium on the front.
2. Use the transmission trick for closest gears and make it top out at about 225 to 230
3. Leave the height of the car alone except on Sarthe bring it up 10 front 15 back because the course is very bumpy. Also set bound and rebound on shocks to 7 for both front and back on this course.
4. Set front camber at 2.4 rear at 1.9
5. Leave the driver on 3 with passing on all the time. Once youve passed all of them leave it on 2.Don't push the driver it will mess up. If you start losing your gap just set it back on 3.
6. No driver aids.
7.LSD settings IT15 Accel 45 Decel 35
8.Brake balance set front at 4 back at 3.
9. Get the turbo upgrade.
10. Leave the downforce and other settings alone.
The only courses you might not place first in short winding courses but you will certainly accumulate enough points to win the series. You should place no less than 3rd in any race. Against any of the cars.

Pit strategy is ESSENTIAL to victory.

Practice each track to see how long each combination of tires lasts, then find the right combo that allows you to go fast for about 1/2 to 2/3 of the way.

In Hong Kong I actually used front medium rear hard for the first leg, then pitted and got front soft and rear medium.

So figure it out for yourself. Sometimes you can't take advice from others because it just doesn't suit your driving style.

Agreed but by putting the harder rear tire and using the settup I have given above gets rid of pitting on some of the tracks.

hehehehe... there will always be newbies needing help.

I can't remember what i used to win this series. made a mistake of b-spec'in the tsukaba race, ended in 2nd. grrr...

I did it with my stock Minolta and won all races except Autumn Ring because i b-specced that one and Bartholomeus the b-spec driver messed up and finished last :ouch:

Can't believe this thread is still going!

In my opinion (and I suppose that of many others) it is better to get those questions in this thread instead of those 'newbies' making their own threads.

Ok earlier someone posted that they couldn't compete in the GT Championship because they got the error message that they had not finished all beginner and professional levels, but they said they had. The advice given was to go back and check each race to make sure they had completed everything.

I am having the same problem....I have checked AT LEAST TWENTY TIMES and I have a gold trophy in every race for every event, but it still says I haven't. It's been like that for like 3 months and I'm starting to get desperate. PLEASE don't tell me my game is glitched, because I might cry.... :nervous:

Sorry if this has already been explained...but again I've checked everything so many times and I can't find anything.

I beat every single race in both Beginner and Professional Halls. That's all I had to do, right? I have all the licenses and everything and I can't figure out why it won't let me play the championship...

Any help is greatly appreciated!

check that the championships are completed as well as the individual races. also check that your TV isn't showing bronze the same colour as gold...

is there any way to differenciate between the championships i've won and the races i've won individually? or will i just have to replay all of the championships?

thanks for the help!

you'll have to go in to the races for the series - where it will show the championship cup symbol in addition to the individual races and check there. the screen before only shows golds for the individual races. Champ series are square connected boxes, while individual races are seperated circles.

Yes, I'd say someone does indeed know that.

I'd also say that this isn't where you should be asking.

I'd further add that you shouldn't be asking at all, when you could be looking - say, on our prize car lists for your second query.

I've just completed the GTWC in a Mazda 787B. I bought no extra power upgrades, just a roll cade and racing soft and hard tyres. Won every race. Completed the championship twice, in A and B-Spec.

You'll get the same reply from everyone around here.

CHECK, CHECK AND RE-CHECK!!

I had the same problem last night, but after an hour or so of scouring through my diary I found the problem.. I forget to win a Championship! :dunce:

It looked like I had all golds in the Professional Hall menu, but after finding that I was missing a prize car I entered the particular event and found that I hadn't even atempted the Championship (Tuning Car event)..

I suggest you do the same. Check out the prize list and see if you've won all the cars, if it looks like you have all golds in the Professional Hall menu..

Good Luck!!.. 3 months?.. dang! :grumpy:

I agree I used the MINOLTA Toyota to win the Ford GT LM SPEC 2. If you are A crazy driver who thinks you can win with that AMG Mercedes CLK-GTR go right ahead ;). To everyone DONT USE the Gillet Vertigo Race Car because it only has a top speed of 202 MPH compared to the MINOLTA's 240+, And it wont look good at Twin Ring Motegi Super Speedway.

Winning with the CLK-GTR is quite possible. It's not easy, because you have less overall grip. But a good driver can win almost every race (I say almost - not the Super Speedway).

i got the damn race behind me last evening!

A-Spec - Toyota Minolta: turbo stage 4 - medium racing tires for front, hard racing for rear.

first have some food and drink a coke.

Practise on all the tracks, make sure you do the best times so u can start off as #1 for the races, this is VERY importent for the city courses, if you are not the best driver in the world.

Take some time to get used to the car setup.

Also, on tricky courses i memorized certain points on the track where i would start braking before a corner, this saved my position in the city courses for sure

Aristott, you have to beat all the beginner and professional events right? well you can just forget about special condition events. I had the same problem a while a go but i did beginner and professional rally races and then i moved on.
