Q's character (from Memory) is a Major. The lad now is just never going to pull of the transformation in to the character we all know.
I don't think he's trying to be Llewellyn.

I think Whishaw really complimented SKYFALL. One of the biggest themes in the film is this idea that the threat we face continues to grown and evolve, and so questions arise over the role of agents like Bond - particularly when what he does is so distasteful. Whishaw's Q represents the increasing focus on cyber capabilities and electronic warfare, which is at odds with Bond, but ultimately proves to be fallible.

Noel and myself are not having that.
Die Another Day is not only one of the worst Bond films, it's one of the worst films of any kind ever conceived. And the theme tune is so awful it makes me want to put MIRVs down my ears.

DIE ANOTHER DAY has one redeeming feature - it was the bad film that the series had to have. The silliness had been building up for a while, and likely would have continued for a while without DIE ANOTHER DAY. But they got the silliness out of their system, and refocused for CASINO ROYALE.

CGI Para Surfing, made all the blue screen footage from the older movies look normal.

Without wanting to quote a single post or entire conversation, going back to the car talk seamlessly...

There will definitely be an Aston Martin. Not sure how much I can say from what I heard, so I'll leave it at that for now!

Lea Seydoux (pouty non-threatening assassin from MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 4) and Dave Bautista (non-pouty threatening strong man from GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY) have reportedly been cast in the film; Seydoux as the secondary Bond Girl and Bautista as a henchman intended to pose a physical threat to Bond.

According to The Daily Mail, Christoph Waltz has joined the cast of BOND 24 in a role that is possibly an ally of Bond, possibly an antagonist, and possibly a little bit of both. And while this might be The Daily Mail that we're talking about, EON have been leaking stuff to them (and somehow making them think they're actually being journalists) for years.

Lots of outlets seem to be running with the news.

Can't say I like the choice for him as a villain... but I guess not everyone can be Christopher Walken.

It seems a bit stereotypical if he's going to be a villain - how many Germanic villains has Bond had?

Hmmm...

Dr No: Chinese to German/Chinese parents
Blofeld: German to Polish/Greek parents
Goldfinger: Latvian
Emilio Largo: Italian descent
Kananga: Caribbean Dictator
Scaramanga: Catalan
Stromberg: Swedish
Drax: English/German Origin
Kirstatos: Greek
General Orlov: Russian / Kamal Khan: Afghan
Zorin: German
General Koskov: Russian
Sanchez: South American
Alec Trevelyan: British to Russian parents
Elliot Carver: British Nationality
Renard: Russian / Elektra King: British/Azerbaijani
Gustav Graves: Korean
Le Chiffre: Albanian
Dominic Greene: French?
Raoul Silva: South American?

I think there's been a reasonable mix, though obviously Blofelds number of appearences maybe skews things.

@MatskiMonk : I don't know why you bolded Blofeld even though he had no real German origins like you yourself admit, unless you are speaking about the actors themselves.

As for Waltz himself, he is a solid casting choice, up there with the last villain. Bautista is a pretty strong physical actor who can act (but not be a sports entertainer like some may attest to). So far, BOND 24 is building on the success of SKYFALL quite nicely.

Only bolded Blofeld as he was the villain in a number of films, where as the rest only made one appearance.

I find it interesting that he is supposedly playing someone who treads the line between ally and antagonist. I wonder if EON are going to try and introduce another recurring character in the series - someone like Anatol Gogol, who is an ally when it is convenient, but always acts in his own interests.

The Daily Mail reckon Waltz will be playing Franz Oberhauser, the son of Hans Oberhauser, a friend of the Bond family who taught Bond how to ski.
They then claim that this is a ruse, and that "Franz Oberhauser" will be revealed as an alias of Ernst Stavro Blofeld.

Of course, they claimed the same thing about Ralph Fiennes during pre-production of SKYFALL.

The Guardian is reporting the same thing, but they also report that Rory Kinnear will return as Chief of Staff Tanner and that Léa Seydoux from the Cannes hit, Blue is the Warmest Color, has joined the cast in an unspecified role.

I'm not surprised Kinnear is coming back - he's been in the role since QOS.

As for Seydoux, it's believed that she might be a secondary Bond girl. It's believed that the role was originally a Norwegian character, but was rewritten after production gave up on shooting in Norway. If she has been cast, I hope she does better than she did in MI4 (granted, her characterisation was limited to "pout"(.

The title has been confirmed as SPECTRE.

Craig, Fiennes, Harris, Whishaw and Kinnear are all returning as Bond, M, Moneypenny, Q and Tanner respectively.

Joining them are Andrew Scott as Denby, Dave Bautista as Mr. Hinx, Monica Bellucci as a character whose name I didn't catch, Lea Seydoux as Madeleine Swann, and the big one, Christoph Waltz in an undisclosed role (but probably Blofeld).

Also announced was Bond's new car - the brand-new Aston Martin DB10.

Bond 24 will be called Spectre. No prizes for who the villain/s will be then.

Fun fact: David Bowie was the original choice for Max Zorin, but he turned it down because he didn't want to watch his stunt double do all the work.

Monica Bellucci as Lucia Sciarra, Christoph Waltz as Oberhauser

Christoph Waltz is a ludicrous casting decision. Why not grab Jennifer Lawrence and Neil Patrick Harris while they're at it?

This brings up a very interesting question, what will happen to Quantum and Mr. White? Are they going to appear in the film at all?

@Famine: Because Waltz is an Oscar winner, that's why. Though I do concede that they give those things out like candy to a crying child.

Honestly though, Waltz is one of the better actors that has emerged in the last 5-10 years. Give Inglorious B******* a watch and see if it doesn't change your opinion.

wonder if the car will have gadgets like the old movies. If it does, i hope it's more like a homage to DB5s gadget and none of the missile stuff.
