New DLC Free Car and Update 2.02

I'm looking forward to the 2012 GTR. Seems to be a nice car.

Also, Improved race sound effects! They better sound good PD. (Even if they are bad I'll be happy, it'll be a much higher step up from what we got.)

Nice update! Thanks PD for continuing to support GT5.
But, surely you guys are running out of GTR's to render? How many versions of the car are there?

Huh?

Let's not get carried away, you'll only be disappointed.
Expect not to notice any difference. ;)

No test course! :(

Oh well, still happy with the 5 premium road cars, any premium road cars added to GT5 makes me happy :)

Interested in listening to these new racing sounds (I take it racing sound effects and not engine sounds).

Can I use multiple Minis, multiple Skylines and how the Scirocco has apparently been complete since just after the game came out as a reason?

Minis? No, same reason as the Skylines. Sirocco? This I didn't know. Golf? I don't know. They are all new models so I wouldn't consider them stale. Regardless if there are previous models of them.

Toronado
Being right tends to do that, yes.

awesome pack. your actualy getting more bang for your buck. I think of the new improvements to the game like change rims etc as part of the $3.95. Good to say thank you to Pd for the continued improvements to the game.

Minis? No, same reason as the Skylines.
With the Skylines, there is at least a difference between them; no matter how irrelevant those differences are in a game with extensive tuning options.

BMW hasn't done anything of particular consequence to the R56 Mini since it came out, so it is PD charging you for an all new car when all they did was perform incredibly minor tweaks to the current model because that is all a 2012 Mini is compared to a 2007 Mini in real life. Same performance. Same interior. Same exterior (more or less). They changed the number that is tacked onto the end of the car name and threw it in the car pack.

Then point out the error in the statement that two model year variations of cars already in the game and content that they were working on while the game was in development proper does not constitute all new content. Repeating the same assertion almost verbatim does not explain your point any further or refute the rebuttals towards it.

I hope we can atleast RM the new mini.
I think its kinda obvious they are torn between releasing cars as DLC for GT5 or saving it for GT6 with the interviews Kaz never gives a solid answer and this DLC kinda shows that is the case.
They are hoping that we would be satisfied with cars that basically missed the game launch.
Im assuming they have been working on the FT- 86 for awhile also and is actually the latest car they actually finished compared to the other cars in the DLC.

Doesn't matter, it's still a new car.

That was more of a response to your "being right attitude."

looking theoretically.... The GOLF VI R has the potential to be a V8 Killer in terms or modified performance i am expecting perhaps 450bhp + add that with 4WD and a weight of possibly <1100kgs....
if anything it will give a WRX or EVO a hiding.... and people are complaining.... ??

It's a new car in the exact same way that these are three separate models. If people are so starved for new content in GT5 that they are willing to not only put up with PD repacking stuff already in the game and charging for it again, but also claim that others are in the wrong for not supporting PD when they do it, then I honestly don't want to be in the right.

If nothing else, this decimates the few people left who still have the balls to dump on Forza's DLC even after the fiasco PD/Sony tried to pull with the first round of GT5 DLC.

Finding an error in the statement would be far more effective at conveying why I'm wrong for thinking like that than throwing up a rolleyes smiley and stonewalling when called on it.

but i would like to know where the Ford - F6 Typhoon
- FPV GT
went.... they WERE in GT4 also the Model T lol such good cars have been forgotten

Again, still a new car. Using the Mitsubishis as an example is not going to cut it. They are not DLC, and aren't exactly new at all. I'm talking about these new cars in the upcoming DLC.

I never said you were wrong and I'm not avoiding your question. Which I can't seem to find.

eeeermm.... but sorry Ed !! 2012 GT-R differs from the '09 - slight mechanical + aero revisions
how a GOLF and a SCIROCCO are the same i'll never know - different body styles, dimensions, interiors
you seem to think one GT-R = all GT-Rs
and one Golf = all Golfs/Sciroccos to follow....
ignorance perhaps ?

Pay attention more closely before you try to act clever.

Those 3 models look different :sly:
Im curious as to how you feel about dirt 2 and dirt 3 and Need for speed DLC.

And what is the standard that makes them new? The fact that they weren't in the game before?

They weren't in the game before? Didn't know that.

What makes them new? How about if they were included in the DLC or the update, then we'll talk.

I never said they were all the same. I believe they are all different. Where did I say anything about that? No ignorance here, other then the Mitsubishi thing I said above.

wasnt directed at you Elite dreamer..... "Ed" is a generic term for replying to someone ' how r u Ed'? that sort of thing i was actually referring to Toronado

GOLF R GRAN TURISMO 5!

this has to be my most wanted car for this game EVER, I'm so glad its hear! I'll be staying up to spend that $4, want to get it the moment its available (for me next Tuesday I think, possibly Wednesday morning).

I think it may be a little light for the DLC, but $1 a car is pretty good, and I like all the cars well enough, plus, I imagine they'll all be premium, so hopefully everyone else is as pleased with this as I am.

Oh and the patch will add heaps of great things too, plus, FT-86 for free, that's awesome too!

I'm not of the opinion that "other companies are worse" justifies laziness. Particularly not when the only reason those companies are worse is because of the huge backlash that happened when the first pack of DLC was announced which basically forced PD the promise that they would fix it as soon as they could (which is one of the things that this update does, and even then it doesn't completely fix it).

I don't know that much about how NFS or Codemasters DLC works outside of what I looked at when I was considering purchasing Shift 2 a couple of months ago, but I can't imagine they promise the moon and then sell you tweaked variations of cars in the game already, and a car that they had sitting on the back shelf for a year so people wouldn't get pissed that it came out soon after the game launched like everyone around here seems to at the Forza DLC.

In fact, the DLC for Shift 2 looked a hell of a lot more impressive than anything GT5 has gotten yet. Cheaper too.

To which I direct you to actually read my posts on the subject and what they say, because you'll see that I'm already well aware of everything you said.
