New DLC Free Car and Update 2.02

ENFORCER 98
looking theoretically.... The GOLF VI R has the potential to be a V8 Killer in terms or modified performance i am expecting perhaps 450bhp + add that with 4WD and a weight of possibly <1100kgs....
if anything it will give a WRX or EVO a hiding.... and people are complaining.... ??

IMO the only bad point of the Mk6 Golf R is the missing 3.2 VR6, purely in terms of engine sound.

I'm not of the opinion that "other companies are worse" justifies laziness. Particularly not when the only reason those companies are worse is because of the huge backlash that happened when the first pack of DLC was announced which basically forced PD the promise that they would fix it as soon as they could (which is one of the things that this update does, and even then it doesn't completely fix it).

I don't know that much about how NFS or Codemasters DLC works outside of what I looked at when I was considering purchasing Shift 2 a couple of months ago, but I can't imagine they promise the moon and then sell you tweaked variations of cars in the game already, and a car that they had sitting on the back shelf for a year so people wouldn't get pissed that it came out soon after the game launched like everyone around here seems to at the Forza DLC.

In fact, the DLC for Shift 2 looked a hell of a lot more impressive than anything GT5 has gotten yet. Cheaper too.

What?

To which I direct you to actually read my posts on the subject and what they say, because you'll see that I'm already well aware of everything you said.

I didnt say that to "justify laziness". I said that because they ACTUALLY release literally the same cars with a different paint schemes and charge like its a new car like your assuming PD does. The only car in that list thats relatively a "repack" is the Mini.

What's with everyone wanting the Aventador all of a sudden? I mean it's a great looking car and all, but people are making it seem like a god.

New things are in ya know? The 458 Italia was on everyone's mind when that came out. It was also a highly demanded car.

This car pack is overpriced. 3.99€ for only 2 new models and 2 two new version of cars already in the game.

Anyway.... I really want to know what they mean by "Improved racing sound effects"...

Those 3 models look different :sly:
Im curious as to how you feel about dirt 2 and dirt 3 and Need for speed DLC.

Amazing... that what i call, "I Love Cars" same models, they dont care they do it , passion for cars for sure!👍

My question is about the previous DLC cars: With their inclusion into the game now, will they be normal RM's or will they be pre-tuned TC's?

Here's to RM's with no engine/turbo modifications!

Not getting my hopes up again though

Wow, GT5 updates are quite frequent. Not that we'd be ones to complain. What I'm really excited about is they got in the 2012 model GT-R. Hope they don't screw up and actually give the 530 hp it has. It can hit 0-60 in 2.9 seconds! I hope it does that in game. Finally, a Skyline that's not a total repeat.

With that GT Auto update, I would love to see a Paint Preview on the car and not that palette thing, surprised they didn't add this yet.

Oh Come on ..... Do we really need so many different model of GTR ????

The whole GTR situation is hilarious to me because Kaz was saying earlier in the year that he wish he didn't put so many Nissans into the game to begin with. It's like he doesn't learn.

everyone stop complaining about the measely $4 asking price.... if you dont like the DLC simple.... DONT buy it... its not as if your looking down the barrel of someone elses gun... no-one is saying you must buy it....
and besides EVERYONE says "we want DLC we want DLC" and THEN when you GET the DLC you dont want it.... only a true car enthusiast will enjoy driving a life step van and enjoy it... for what it is

"New Car Refresh" I wonder... if that will set things back to 0/0/0, if so... that would actually be pretty cool. However since they say this... "back to as-new condition, without losing any modifications that have been performed to it", makes me wonder if that means it will not remove weight reductions and internal engine modifications.

Personally I would want a coupon to get it back to a true 0/0/0 state, keeping all add on tuning parts, the kind that can easily be removed or put back on.

I'm interested in this too. I've wanted to reverse the engine modifications or weight reduction for different setups. The ballast and power limiter helped a bit in that regard, but going back to stock completely should also remove the rigidity mods too.

Hopefully there is an in-game arrangement to purchase more of the car refresh coupons.

As far as the cars go, it's a small but mighty pack. Pretty solid, imho. I know it wasn't mentioned in the blog posting, but I have to wonder if maybe there are race mods available for these cars too. Otherwise, I'd question why the Mini was included. It shouldn't have been that different from the 2nd(really 3rd) gen Mini that's already in the game, unless maybe it's a JCW version.

Is $4 so "measly" for content that some are saying isn't truly "new" content? $4 makes it a buck a car, so if they released 10 like Turn 10 ($7), it's less bang for your buck for these 4.

PD has a twisted sense of reality, it they think that 4 slightly re-done versions of the cars already in the game counts as DLC they're mistaken. Who in the right mind and who's not a GT fanboy will pay hard earned money for 3 common commuters and a car that we already have 20 of? And that "Christmas gift?" Give me a break.

This is super easy and cheap DLC to make. It would be nice if they took a lesson from Turn-10, who's DLC for Forza 4 has been very unique and provided a huge variety of 30 brand new cars to the game so far.

I suppose you'd be fine with a half eaten sandwich, girl's underwear, Pet Rock, a can of cat food, or a neon green leisure suit as a Christmas gift?

This game still has not met the content standard which GT4 set.

It's downloadable... and it's content... I'm not seeing the problem here.
