New DLC Free Car and Update 2.02

Shame this DLC batch does not have any tracks, but it´s good. I like the monthly content stuff.

More and more i´m beggining to think i´ll never get my leaderboards, which makes me sad.

Isn't it a bit strange to get a completely new addition in the form of the Toyota FT-86 for free, whilst having to pay for slightly reworked cars already in the game (the GT-R and Mini Cooper)?
For all the criticism aimed at the TC versions being just different versions of cars already in the game, at least they needed to be thoroughly remodelled for a large part as they're visually very different than the regular versions.
Now we're getting 3 new additions (as in completely new cars), 2 as DLC (those lovely VW's) and 1 for free in an update, whilst in my humble opinion it would've made more sense to offer the 2012 GT-R (do we really need another one PD? is there going to be a 2012 Academy version, etc. in the next batch as well?) and the new Mini for free instead.
Since they didn't require much remodelling, unless I'm missing something (yes I know the new Mini has a slightly different bodykit).

Now let's not count our chickens before they hatch, it says that "racing sounds will be improved" not car sounds.. people will expect car sounds to be improved, and when they're not, people will complain and blame PD.. I'd love to see car sounds improved, but I doubt it will happen..

I thought about that before posting, but went with it anyway. The rim change alone was enough to make me happy, but I read this and was like, uh racing sounds or car sounds. We will see.

Then I'm sure you'll be able to quote examples of this.
I don't want to say individual names, that would be too picky (and potentially rude to others) and could cause more problems than its worth, but this is just from what im seeing in a general consensus of sorts, if that helps ease your question.

I'm not entirely flawed by the new DLC myself but I like it enough to enjoy what is coming to us in a few days, I just don't see why others complain about it when a few wanted more road cars (aftermath of Car DLC #1) and now some of those same people (give or take) say they wanted more Race-cars, its really just a subjective thing and I get that. Its just the extent of the complaining I have seen, its just a bit much.

However, that's just my opinion and isn't a defined answer as people's interests can change in an instant. I didnt mean to cause a potential stir-up over my previous post, and its the first (and only) time in a long while that i have had a serious rant over something in a forum. Apologies for anyone that thinks im being a bit stubborn about it, im not trying to come across in that way. :)

About that RM?
That's just my wish it can be rm like that.
Sorry for the misunderstanding. :P
No worries about it, I was just curious.
Mind, the thought of this does seem pretty logical in the first place.

Love how everyone is complaining about the DLC but they're gonna buy it anyways. XD Gotta love the interwebz.
I am honestly VERY excited about the VWs and *dun* *dun* * dun*......the GTR. Shame no tracks, but those take a lot of time to make, so I understand.

Well it appears he hasnt edited the first post and the link is on it.

The post I was referring to was in a separate thread that was later merged with this one.

The link wasn't there before. ;)

Edit: That response was to Rob-F1-Fan who had posted the other thread, not the OP of this thread...

This DLC just seems too "little" for it to be all that we're getting this month, and on top of that it's christmas time. Something tells me we're getting more DLC to the one that's coming next week and it just hasn't been announced. But hey, I've been wrong before when it comes to PD

Pretty sure you're wrong now too.

Are there anymore that's yet to be announced?

Like a track pack? No?

I'm pretty sure there won't be any new tracks in this update. I'm at least 95% sure that all DLC content has been announced and that no new tracks are going to show up in the DLC coming December 20th.

New dlc looks sweet and im glad you can now change wheels on standards!! I have only collected premiums so I'm about to start on my standards too just looking forward putting some bbs rims on a mark 1 golf :)! Next up is new tracks and some new wheels too that selection is too small and the 5 spoke enkei's are only available to a few cars!

Wondeful update! Can't wait for the standards with rims and some of those new cars. :) Especially the Mini and those Volkswagens. 👍

Some good stuff in the update. Especially the DLC car sharing and changing wheels on standards finally. There must have been sound effect updates already because I just noticed that when cars were bumping each other in my replays it has a very realistic metal on metal crunching sound rather than the usual dull thud that I heard before. Not overwhelmed by the car choice but it's nice to see the VWs. Great news about the Toyota but I think everyone was expecting that one. lol. Be nice if we could get the Scion sister car as well. I kind of like the back of that one.

For back seat adventures. ;) Climbing into the back through the front and then climbing back out spoils the mood somewhat.

There's a back door joke in there, too, somewhere. :dopey:

I think it makes sense; the Scirocco is two-door, why not put the 5 door version of the Golf in? They're far too similar as it is anyway.

Here’s a complete listing of all the new changes coming in GT5 2.02:

Users can now change wheels on Standard cars
The settings sheets will include a new ‘copy’ feature
In GT Auto, players will be able to see how the oil changes, aerodynamic parts, engine overhauls, and racing modifications will affect performance points and engine power, before and after their application
Free coupons have been added that allow you to wash cars, change oil, overhaul your engine, or refresh the car body in GT Auto (10 coupons will be distributed for free to each of those who have downloaded the 2.02 update)
Pressing the Square button in the car coupon selection screen of the Car Delivery will now allow you to exchange all car coupons at once, rather than doing one at a time
In screens where the [Garage] and [Driver List] buttons are displayed in the A/B Spec events, Special Events, and Seasonal Events, pressing the Square button will now show the [Garage], and pressing the Triangle button will bring up the drivers list
In My Lounge, the room settings will feature a new ‘Max. number of participants’ setting
In the event selection screen of seasonal events, there are now ☆(star) marks that show the number of Gold Trophies attained in each event
Improved racing sound effects
Elements of the steering assist controls (used when using certain controllers on Racing Karts) have been tweaked.

These new cars will also be available as DLC for $3.99:

2011 Mini Cooper S
2010 Volkswagen Golf VI R
2010 Volkswagen Scirocco R
2012 Nissan GT-R Black edition R35.

The blog post also confirms the Toyota 86 will be available for free in the 2.02 update, and the previous batch of DLC will now be available on all the user accounts of a PlayStation 3 console (they can be purchased from their respective dealers within the game).

Finally, anyone who purchased the first batch of DLC will receive a free “Gran Turismo Racing Kart 125 SP” along with five free “New Car Refresh” cards that reset any car in the game back to as-new condition, without losing any modifications that have been performed to it.

1) PD is straight TAXING on the cars. They're expensive. The cars should be free. And we're all DUMB for buying it. I know I will, because they have us by the ball$.

2) The first three tweaks are awesome, then it starts to list all the mundane pointless stuff that has been changed. If you're going to allow us to change the wheels and give us new additions toward GT Auto KEEP IT COMING. Max Number of participants? Come on...

New sounds? Okay. Makes sense.

Holy cow PD get your focuses straight! You're all over the place. It's like a sheet of glass broke and instead of getting the broom and pan you're all just picking up the glass piece by piece. Be over and done with it in one sweep.

Enough of this beating around the bush.

You guys are smart, have delivered awesome content before -- move on. Stop playing around...

It's so obvious what the players want. You're obviously capable of delivering that. Stop doing what /you/ want to do and follow up with the player base. GOOD EXAMPLE? Racing suits.

Now is a good time for racing suits.

MONTHS ago it was a good time to change wheels on standards.

Seriously you guys, it's not about complaining it's just.....................blatant, and simply put: stupid.

p.s. i'm a daily driver, a daily player, i love the GT series and what has been provided but when you know the potential is there and all the team does is play hardball it gets annoying

if you're going to charge these petty amounts for 2010 cars just wait and put them in GT6 stop robbing your customers it's a gun pointed at us and PD knows it

PD doesn't pay attention to you and only you. We're dumb for buying it? It should be free? No. It all makes sense, are you just upset you didn't get what you wanted?

Am I being... harsh?

They are not "all over the place"

The game was rushed and have/has some flaws... they're fixing them on the fly... and remember, our feedback is "all over the place" too... when I wanted wheels for standards, some people is begging to have leaderboards and others just love to have the new Honda Super GT car.

See? It's hard for them... they're trying to attend to all our demands. Please have some patience.

For me, they're doing a great job. Slow, but one hell of a good job. You won't find this kind of support anywhere else.

WOW..
those are some cool updates and freebies..
but theres one thing missing...

MOTORCYCLES..

( C'MON TT2 )
