Indeed. The roof is always my majour concern. But with the last two sketches I put up I studied up rather intensly on the dimensions and proportions of classic car, most specifically the 60's Ferraris and first Elan. I really tried to make a car that would be beautiful from the culmination of petty details, namely some of the line shifts like the transition from hood to windscreen or the transition of front fender to rear fender on the door ledge. I still have yet to really come off with a solid design yet. :indiff:

I'm getting closer...

Looking good. Two things:

1) I'd say make the front brakes more angular, and do somethin about that little shelf under the brake vents. You can leave it, but make it look less bolt-on. Maybe adding more detail to the body with reflections would make this area clearer.

2) What is an Elegans?

Here's what I got just based on a half-dozen sketches. It's not where I want it to be at this point, but I still have time to work out some bugs. Anyone suggest anything (I know the technique with the pen is all over the place)? The only thing that's really pissing me off is proportions, I want a longer nose maybe, and also stretch the wheelbase out a bit. I think I'll do the final entry in pencil, so the shape of the body is more clear than the cobwebbed ballpoint pen. Lemme know:

Yeah, like I said, the wheelbase and overhangs will be stretched out (not in PS).

Now that I look at it, it really is far too short... Whatev, that's what the sketching is for.

I was thinking the same thing about the little wind foils. This'll be my final entry, no use tweaking it around.

Elegans? It's a pseudo-French/Italian word I made up to fit into the category of names starting with 'E' for Lotus. My thought was that most people who would buy the car or be interested in it wouldn't care about the meaning anyway. :P

It seems you have the same problem I was encountering earlier. The Lotus proportions just don't seem to work for an elongated car, mostly why I decided to bump the engine for mine up front.

I'll put the voting thread up in a few hours if you still want to submit a final entry. :)

If it's necessary to extend them due to lack of entries, vacation season, etc. I will extend the, But we've got plenty of entries this week. If you want one of yours submitted this week I wold recommend you produce a drawing within the hour. :)

I wait for Week 5 before trying to enter on of these comps again, plus don't have an hour to get it up. Because its 21:50pm over here. Which means me nearly going to bed mate.

how bout something new, like a bmw or audi truck or even a peugot or buick gt car. or something really wild like a mercedes dirt buggy
