NEW EXPLOIT - Tyre "healing" without stopping

Yes and you are wasting your fresh set of tyres.
I tried it on Suzuka the other day thinking I'd hold my ground but I went from 12th to last in the first lap. By then you are so far behind that even when the rest of the pack pit, you can't gain that many positions. Most were in and out before I caught them up

Thankfully I've yet to be in a race where someone was using the glitch (I've gone thru the replays to confirm). But it's going to be really frustrating for a person like me. For instance I normally run fuel map 5-6 for the first 3 laps, drive conservatively to save tires only pit for a tire change or sometimes not pit at all thus gaining at least 6 positions. This glitch would frustrate the heck out of me if more people start using it.

Better to go low (1 or 2) for at least 1 lap first to establish a position, before switching to higher :). Otherwise everyone just overtakes you on lap 1

Yes and you are wasting your fresh set of tyres.

You can do both (save fuel and tires) using 1 map for the entire race if you know how to use short shift and breaking without uplifting in high rev all the time. But either way I agree:going to "save fuel mode by map 5-6" is not that good because of the time you loose by doing that -unless the people you want to beat are a lot slower than you-.

Ah I mean I don't run a lower map right off the bat. I gradually reduce it during the first lap while I guage how much fuel is being burnt. Normally 2 laps of frugal driving allows me to pit around lap 6 and drive all out on a fresh set with enough fuel till the end. So far it seems to have worked out good in that I can finish top 5 mostly after starting bottom half. @JulesDennis you have a point as I'm still DR C SR S so it's just that I'm faster then them anyway.

Fair enough... it's just that you said "I normally run fuel map 5-6 for the first 3 laps" so you can see the confusion ;)

So we had a bug where people could join Gr.4 races with Gr.3 cars, then the pit lane glitch, then the grip bug, now we have the tire healing and the cutting through the Monza chicanes.

What will be next? Any ideas?

If you press L3 or the clutch pedal you'll unlock engine upgrade stage 3.

When did that happen?

When did that happen?

Probably in November last year but I wasn't doing sport mode races at that time, so I don't know exactly how it worked. I remember people writing about it here on gtplanet though.

That was a one time Event only and a serverside/matchmaking Problem - hope this works now 100% ;)

But never heard about cutting shicanes on Monza - sure, track Limits are sometimes very easy, but ist PD decision to make the rules... Or is there a real unintenional Problem only a few know about? I have seen very fast times without ghost... maybe to not give the secret away? hmmm.....

Yesterday in Alsace , Fia manufacture .....
A player do the exploit , bug , cheat ... i lost race cuz he use this ... how i can reported him now?

I have video doing this.

And people get up in arms when I say PD is a mediocre team. With the amount of resources available to them they continue to underwhelm. When compared to what’s released by other studios in the genre with a fraction of PDs budget it’s laughable really.

I've seen a guy going straight on the first corner Monza and then the game reseted him after the S corner. Since he was starting first I can't say how much he gained by doing this but at least it helped him to stay out of chaos.

My wheeel has a issue where occasionally it will pause the game for no reason whatsoever. Thankfully it does not fix my tyres whilst doing so.
If it happened before you turned right and the wheel moved the menu selection across to the right and you pressed X to get rid of the screen instead of pressing O, then you would come under suspicion.
As long as the problem kept happening in non tire wear races and even when you had good tires in wear races, then I doubt you would have anything to worry about :D

Well you'd have to physically go to the options menu to trigger it, clicking pause won't do anything other than annoy you.

Thankfully none of the above occurred. I did happen half way through a race once and I frantically tried to unpause and but ended up quitting instead, now that was annoying lol

I guess what I'm wondering is how long has this bug been around? It sounds like it's been around for a while, not something that magically popped up this week. I mean, are we talking weeks? Months? And only now have players started to catch on? And there's the theory floating around that this has been kept a "secret" for a while. Normally, I stay away from the Daily C races since I'm trying to master the Daily A/B.

I've only seen two videos of this happening, the OP video and this one (thanks to @IAMDOODLEBUG )

I had hoped people would go back through their replays and find evidence of when this started, or the people in the videos would say how they found the bug and when, ie did they find it themselves by accident or from seeing someone else do it.

I saw some posts about maintenance yesterday but when I signed on last night, I didn’t see anything. Is the bug still alive? If so, I’m skipping the cup races till it’s fixed

It likely still exists but in the few races I've done today I have not noticed anyone do it.

The race is at Monza though so if you value your safety rating avoid anyway.

IDK if this has already been pointed out, and i think someone had already pointed out that its based on the options you have set for the car.

I tried this bug out yesterday in a lobby with a friend it doesn't just "heal" my tires but switched them completely. I entered the track with RH and then pitted and switched to RS. Then I tried the bug and when it "healed" my tires, the tires had switched back to RH. :boggled:

I think the most enjoyable way to fix this bug, would be for it to set them to comfort hard tires but still display as RH

Edit : OH does that mean you could enter a race with RSS tires, have the game display that page where it changes the tires from RSS to RH and then use this glitch to turn your RH tires into RSS tires?

Is that what the guy was talking about earlier in this thread?

That was my first concern too, but im not sure if that would work in Sport MOde since that display page actually changes your driver settings (ie. Enter with RSS, the page displays the change to RH, now check your settings and your tire settings are changed to RH)

And what about TCS or other settings? Some lobbies disabled some settings at all. What about setting those before entering the game, open the options menu and use the settings that are prohibited initial..
