Better to go low (1 or 2) for at least 1 lap first to establish a position, before switching to higher. Otherwise everyone just overtakes you on lap 1
Yes and you are wasting your fresh set of tyres.

I tried it on Suzuka the other day thinking I'd hold my ground but I went from 12th to last in the first lap. By then you are so far behind that even when the rest of the pack pit, you can't gain that many positions. Most were in and out before I caught them upYes and you are wasting your fresh set of tyres.
Thankfully I've yet to be in a race where someone was using the glitch (I've gone thru the replays to confirm). But it's going to be really frustrating for a person like me. For instance I normally run fuel map 5-6 for the first 3 laps, drive conservatively to save tires only pit for a tire change or sometimes not pit at all thus gaining at least 6 positions. This glitch would frustrate the heck out of me if more people start using it.

Fair enough... it's just that you said "I normally run fuel map 5-6 for the first 3 laps" so you can see the confusionAh I mean I don't run a lower map right off the bat. I gradually reduce it during the first lap while I guage how much fuel is being burnt. Normally 2 laps of frugal driving allows me to pit around lap 6 and drive all out on a fresh set with enough fuel till the end. So far it seems to have worked out good in that I can finish top 5 mostly after starting bottom half. @JulesDennis you have a point as I'm still DR C SR S so it's just that I'm faster then them anyway.
So we had a bug where people could join Gr.4 races with Gr.3 cars, then the pit lane glitch, then the grip bug, now we have the tire healing and the cutting through the Monza chicanes.
What will be next? Any ideas?
If you press L3 or the clutch pedal you'll unlock engine upgrade stage 3.![]()

It was a matchmaking bug that happened, as far as I'm aware, on only one occasion during a Gr.4 FIA race at Bathurst. When did that happen?
When did that happen?
Probably in November last year but I wasn't doing sport mode races at that time, so I don't know exactly how it worked. I remember people writing about it here on gtplanet though.
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...aving-5-seconds-per-lap.374780/#post-12190687That was a one time Event only and a serverside/matchmaking Problem - hope this works now 100%
But never heard about cutting shicanes on Monza - sure, track Limits are sometimes very easy, but ist PD decision to make the rules... Or is there a real unintenional Problem only a few know about? I have seen very fast times without ghost... maybe to not give the secret away? hmmm.....
I've seen a guy going straight on the first corner Monza and then the game reseted him after the S corner. Since he was starting first I can't say how much he gained by doing this but at least it helped him to stay out of chaos. That was a one time Event only and a serverside/matchmaking Problem - hope this works now 100%

My wheeel has a issue where occasionally it will pause the game for no reason whatsoever. Thankfully it does not fix my tyres whilst doing so.
If it happened before you turned right and the wheel moved the menu selection across to the right and you pressed X to get rid of the screen instead of pressing O, then you would come under suspicion. My wheeel has a issue where occasionally it will pause the game for no reason whatsoever. Well you'd have to physically go to the options menu to trigger it, clicking pause won't do anything other than annoy you.My wheeel has a issue where occasionally it will pause the game for no reason whatsoever. Thankfully it does not fix my tyres whilst doing so.
I saw some posts about maintenance yesterday but when I signed on last night, I didn’t see anything. Is the bug still alive? If so, I’m skipping the cup races till it’s fixed
Edit : OH does that mean you could enter a race with RSS tires, have the game display that page where it changes the tires from RSS to RH and then use this glitch to turn your RH tires into RSS tires?
Is that what the guy was talking about earlier in this thread?
