New Immigration Laws The US Should Adopt

Thought you folks might find this interesting. I just love this country! Ten laws that we should have here in the US.

1. There will be no special bilingual programs in the schools, no special ballots for elections, and all government business will be conducted in our language.

2. Foreigners will NOT have the right to vote, no matter how long they are here.

3. Foreigners will NEVER be able to hold political office.

4. Foreigners will not be a burden to the taxpayers. No welfare, no food stamps, no health care, nor any other government assistance programs.

5. Foreigners can invest in this country, but it must be an amount equal to 40,000 times the daily minimum wage.

6. If foreigners do come and want to buy land, that will be OK, BUT options will be restricted. For example, you are not allowed to own waterfront property. That property is reserved for citizens naturally born into this country.

7. Foreigners may not protest; no demonstrations, no waving a foreign flag, no political organizing, no "bad-mouthing" our president or his policies. If you do, you will be sent home. If you resist, you will be arrested. If you resist arrest, you may be shot.

8. If you do come to this country illegally, you will be hunted down and sent straight to jail.

9. If you are a foreigner and involved in an auto accident, your car will be impounded by the local government and only returned until it is decided who was at fault. If you are at fault, your car will be sold and the funds given to the victim.

10. If you are a foreigner and get seriously injured, you wont receive medical treatment unless you can provide proof, usually with a cash deposit, that you can pay for it.

Harsh, you say? The above laws happen to be the immigration laws of "MEXICO." Enjoy the double standard.

Yeah, it's harsh but I don't think it would work in the US. In Mexico you don't need foreigners, in the US they're necessary. With those laws, no foreigners would want to live in your country.

Yeah, it's harsh but I don't think it would work in the US. In Mexico you don't need foreigners, in the US they're necessary.
Everyone keeps saying this, but no one really explains why. We don't need "foreigners" in the US. In most cases, we welcome them, but we don't need them.

Everyone says that foreigners do jobs US natives are not willing to do. Bullcrap. Who mowed our lawns, cooked our cheeseburgers, and cleaned our motel rooms before 1970? Guess who - we did.

Guess what? The only reason many of those jobs are held by "foreigners" is they are illegals and will work for cash below minimum wage. Abolish the minimum wage and hire lots of unemployed Americans to do the work, at cheaper than the arbitrary minimum wage.

Except there aren't all that many unemployed Americans; at least not a huge number. Which is great! That means labor is a valuable commodity, and employer competition for that resource means wages will be decent, even without minimum wage laws, because employers need workers.

So again, we welcome most immigrants, because that's the way we are, but don't fool yourself that we must have them.

Yeah, it wasn't always like that over there, but now that it is don't you think it would be a huge headache if the US implemented those laws? Most of the foreigners would leave the country and I doubt there would be enough Americans to fill their jobs right away. That's what I meant. Now that they're there, they're necessary.

Hey Solid, when you say "foreigners", do you mean Illegal Immigrants? or foreigners that have become residents or citizens?

Everyone keeps saying this
But of course we all know that everyone is wrong and you're right.

Maybe that "everyone" involves economists who actually know how beneficial they are to this country, because they have actually studied and researched how this country would run without them.

Everyone says that foreigners do jobs US natives are not willing to do. Bullcrap. Who mowed our lawns, cooked our cheeseburgers, and cleaned our motel rooms before 1970? Guess who - we did.
Sooooo, why don't I see Americans do these type of jobs? Because illegals are taking up the opportunities for the Americans to work in these fields?
People who get out of high school and college pursue something better than lawn mowing and flipping burgers, they pursue a professional career, a better life, a good tittle. Mexicans do the lawn mowing because most of them don't speak any english at all, they cannot attend college because they are illegal.

Guess what? The only reason many of those jobs are held by "foreigners" is they are illegals and will work for cash below minimum wage. Abolish the minimum wage and hire lots of unemployed Americans to do the work, at cheaper than the arbitrary minimum wage.
When I was in high school, I started working part time in a KFC. I never ever saw one illegal who was hired there, because you actually need a SS# to get a job somewhere. And if someone was indeed hired in a workplace where you are likely to get paid the minimum, they would NOT be able to pay him for less than that. They wouldn't bother to actually make a check for him and not report him on the taxes. I'm sorry but I just don't see that happening.
Those who work in construction and landscaping and lawn mowing, trust me, they don't get paid below minimum wage. As a matter of fact, I know some get paid higher than I do!

But of course we all know that everyone is wrong and you're right.
He is.

Really? So the country didn't run well without umpteen million illegals?

Duke already answered this. When an employer can pay someone less then minimum wage, under the table and the government turns a blind eye, why wouldn't they?

Wow, you really haven't even looked into this have you? There are many illegals that use a false or stolen(this is a felony BTW, on top of illegal immigration) to get jobs. In most if not all states there is no mandate to check if that social security number is accurate. So as long as they have ID and a number they can get a job.

Also, because you don't "see" it happening means it's not happening?

I wouldn't mind invoking a few of those rules though. I mean for illegals, not lawful immigrants. In fact, we do have most of those laws. We just choose not to enforce them. Thank you very much GW Bush. 👎

1. There will be no special bilingual programs in the schools, no special ballots for elections, and all government business will be conducted in our language.

Apart from the fact that the government should get out of the education business, I think this is fine. But it doesn't need to be a law - more of a general policy.

Solid Lifters
2. Foreigners will NOT have the right to vote, no matter how long they are here.

That doesn't seem reasonable at all, not a law I'd want in my country.

Solid Lifters
3. Foreigners will NEVER be able to hold political office.

Also unreasonable. Often foreigners understand our system better than many natural born Americans.

Solid Lifters
4. Foreigners will not be a burden to the taxpayers. No welfare, no food stamps, no health care, nor any other government assistance programs.

How about just getting rid of these programs for everyone?

Solid Lifters
5. Foreigners can invest in this country, but it must be an amount equal to 40,000 times the daily minimum wage.

Seems arbitrary. I wonder what the reasoning is.

Solid Lifters
6. If foreigners do come and want to buy land, that will be OK, BUT options will be restricted. For example, you are not allowed to own waterfront property. That property is reserved for citizens naturally born into this country.

Not sure why that's necessary, is this a problem?

Solid Lifters
7. Foreigners may not protest; no demonstrations, no waving a foreign flag, no political organizing, no "bad-mouthing" our president or his policies. If you do, you will be sent home. If you resist, you will be arrested. If you resist arrest, you may be shot.

Very unAmerican.

Solid Lifters
8. If you do come to this country illegally, you will be hunted down and sent straight to jail.

How about deported? Our jails are already full of drug users and our cops are already too busy handing out tickets for driving without a seatbelt on.

Solid Lifters
9. If you are a foreigner and involved in an auto accident, your car will be impounded by the local government and only returned until it is decided who was at fault. If you are at fault, your car will be sold and the funds given to the victim.

Totally disproportionate response. Bad law.

Solid Lifters
10. If you are a foreigner and get seriously injured, you wont receive medical treatment unless you can provide proof, usually with a cash deposit, that you can pay for it.

...and if they're unconcious and can't provide proof? Generally everyone should pay for medical treatment.

Solid Lifters
Harsh, you say? The above laws happen to be the immigration laws of "MEXICO." Enjoy the double standard.

I understand your point, but these are bad laws. That Mexico has them is already a big first strike against them. I don't know why we'd want to become more like Mexico - since their track record isn't so hot. But you are correct that it is a double standard.

Where I live in the UK there is reasonably high unemployment rate. From the majority of people I've spoken to they have said they won't work in McDonalds or some other "lower" class jobs because they want something with prospects. Bearing in mind that these people usually have no qualifications they seem to be living in a dream world. They would rather be unemployed as they think it's worse to work in McDonalds. Unfortunately that's the society we're starting to live in. Everyone wants to be rich.

Foreign workers are taking those jobs in England that are being left by the 2,000,000 unemployed. I don't blame them to be honest. They work hard, long hours and from the tenants that I have had in the past from Eastern Europe they always pay the rent on time.

Of course your going to get scroungers who live off the state if you give it to them.

That's the society that the majority has voted themselves: socialism. These people have the luxury of deciding that work is beneath them, because they have easy access to the dole.

Which is exactly what they should be doing - finding a market niche they can fill, and filling it. Good for them!

It's up to us to wise up and stop shooting ourselves in the foot. And by "us", I mean the average, unthinking idiot voter who thinks that making everything the government's responsibility is a good idea. Those who voted socialism in in the first place.

Of course your going to get scroungers who live off the state if you give it to them.
Well, duh. And given the trend of some states *cough* Kalifornia *cough* to provide the dole even to illegal immigrants, it's frankly a wonder (and very much to their credit) that any of the illegals work as hard as they do.

Am I the only one spotting the irony of the fact the USA (as we know it) was built by foreigners? Likewise Britain and many countries where people seem to hate the foreigners that built their country.

We're not missing it at all. Solid's original point is that the Mexican government loves to send it's "undesirables" here, but you can't even become a full citizen in Mexico if you're from another country.

I was talking about ILLEGAL immigrants.

I'm all about immigration. I just want it legal. You're right, this country should pride itself on it's immigration. But that's not the case, for some stupid reason. Oh, it's because the government picks and chooses which people to enforce the laws on. sheesh...

For me, Danoff covered it all. It does seem like a double standard. But I wouldn't want laws like that here. I just want to see existing laws .. y'know.. actually enforced.

Now point 10) which strikes me as more than a little ridiculous. What about the millions of foreign tourists who come to the US every year and put billions of dollars into our economy??

So if little Sato or Sven falls down at Disney World and breaks his leg, we should have the EMT spend an hour faxing forms validating foreign insurance coverage? What if someone is having a heart attack? Or a baby?

C'mon.. it's not like every foreigner comes to this country just to collect welfare.

No, what YOU'RE failing to spot is the irony that the US offers a huge opportunity for immigration, yet we're called stingy, unfair, redneck jerks... despite the fact that Mexico has a much more exclusionary and prejudicial immigration system.

Can we be more specific? I don't want to particularly know what your deal was, it's just that my mother happens to be a paralegal, working with another immigration lawyer and she tells me just how hard it is to satisfy the DHS's demands and laws.

So I'd really like to know what these HUGE opportunities Duke referred to.

Tax breaks for immigrant business owners. Government loans and grants for business. Just to name some of the major things the government does for the immigrant population.

Are you saying illegal immigrants? And about the grants and loans...can you actually provide me with a link of a company who will give you that without your SS#? And don't tell me they don't check if it's legitimate or not because now you're talking about good money here.

I'll have an interesting talk with my mamma tonight :P

Well I'm not sure what you expect me to tell you if you're not interested in myself as an example. I'm an immigrant. I happen to feel moving to the US did offer my family and myself huge opportunities that I could not have enjoyed if I stayed in my birth country... education, economics, cultural, etc. And I can't be the only one out there.

Of course I mean legal immigrants. The unfortunate part is that the opportunity for ILLEGAL immigrants simply because laws aren't enforced.

Also, do your own research. As it's apparent you have done absolutely none by your commentary in this thread.

Well, I didn't want to get too personal up there, you some people are touchy about that.

Anyway, OK, the gov. offered you a big time opportunity, fine, but the reason why I was asking is, because DHS's laws can vary with different countries, some are harsh, some are not as harsh, and some are too strict I'd say.

I am also an Immigrant, I came from Italy like 5 years ago and thanks to my mother who by that time was a citizen, I was able to get the residence in almost no time. On top of that, the European Union has some speciall bonds with the US as far as immigration goes, and I'm glad for that :).
However, I focus right now on illegals coming from countries like Mexico Dominican Republic etc etc...
It is awful hard for them to become legal and the opportunities some immigrant get are not the same as the ones these people get.

I'll continue this when I get home from work...

If you can't back yourself up, then don't use the above statement as a scapegoat please.

I actually don't need to re-search brother because I can tell from first hand experience what it is. Sorry I really don't have more time to continue becuase I gotta leave now but I'll do as soon as I get home.

Wow, for a minute I thought you were being sarcastic but I can tell by your previous posts you're serious.

I DID back myself up. I told you exactly how the the government helps immigrant citizens of the USA. Just not ALL of the ways.

Your second statement is EXACTLY what M-Spec said earlier. So do you care to back that up?

Get home safely. :)

Illegal immigrants should not have ANY opportunities. They should be deported immediately. Legal immigrants, of which there are a ton in the US, are the only immigrants we should be allowing in.

I thought the thread starter was trying to say that's what the US should adopt. Oops.

It's funny that you said that, I just had a semi-fight with some idiot at the grocery store while me and my friend were trying to get some fruit....

------------------
OK, let me explain 2 types of immigrants here:

The legal.
&
The Illegal.

I still hear no word from Solid Lifters yet, but I assume that all the laws/rules that he wrote down on his first post, applied to illegal immigrants. Having said that, I was basing my opinions on their importance in this country, debating whether their absence would make an impact on the economy and leave room for Americans who are eager to mow lawns, clean supermarkets and buildings.

Then Duke said this :
No, what YOU'RE failing to spot is the irony that the US offers a huge opportunity for immigration, yet we're called stingy, unfair, redneck jerks... despite the fact that Mexico has a much more exclusionary and prejudicial immigration system.
Now I couldn't tell you if Mexico has really strict immigration laws as Duke sates because I really don't know anything about that country. However, when I read the bold part, I wondered to myself what huge opportunities was he talking about (assuming that he was referring to illegals). That's why I asked for examples. then you came over and said a couple, which are true but for the legal ones.
On your next post you said "Of course I mean legal immigrants." but by that time I was already replying to ///M-Spec and when I went back to read yours, your "Of course I mean legal immigrants." slipped out of my sight, and I was in a hurry 'cause I had to leave. So yes, you're right about that. I really thought you were talking about the "illegals".

Illegal immigrants should not have ANY opportunities. They should be deported immediately. Legal immigrants, of which there are a ton in the US, are the only immigrants we should be allowing in.
Nice general statement. However, I still wonder how this country be affected by that. I'm NOT saying that the US needs them in here to progress, but I'm curious to see who would do the kind of job that they did. Let's face it, nobody wants to do it, we leave it for the illegals, we focus on becoming successful, study, graduate and buy a nice house, not stuck in a factory for 10 hours to earn $ 7.50 per hour.

You don't think Americans are willing to work in a factory for $7.50??

You don't think people are willing to mow lawns and clean up? I happen to know white folks who have done all that stuff.

But, if nobody were willing to clean toilets for minimum wage, do you know what would happen? Toilets would go uncleaned? No no.... the price for a toilet cleaner would go up. And then they'd get cleaned.

And there's where the economy would change...

I don't know, guys. Some of the Oregonian farmers are claiming that they actually have to pay way above the minimum wage to illegal immigrants/workers, because no Americans wants the job. They claim that when they do get Americans in there, they leave almost immediately, due to hard work, getting dirty, etc.

Of course, they could be lying due to whatever political motivation, but that's what I've been hearing on the radio.

Edit:
Also on farm jobs, mowing lawn, etc. Aren't those the jobs that used to get done by kids? I know I used to look for those jobs as a kid, especially during summer.
