Will the new Nissan conform to the shape under the cover?

That'd all make good sense if the Nissan was coming in 2014, not Next year's Le Mans.

Seriously, it'd be a bad idea to give out a top secret LMP car for the competition to basically test out and then see what they're against.

Ha, are you really suggesting Audi would fire up GT6 and see how their competition faired as a digital representation in a video game? "**** guys, they're four seconds a lap faster. We've got work to do".

My bet is the new LMP car.

Lets say the red covering is accurate.
Look below - if you pull that black covering tighter so there is a little less slack, it would match the red covering we see in the GT6 teaser.

Wide wing protruding from side of the cockpit greenhouse in head-on view - check.
High fender arches - check.
Protruding low front center crash structure - check.
Slight bulge between greenhouse and front fenders to account for mirrors - check.
June 10th a big press day for the 2014 24 HEURES DU MANS - check.

Wow. So its a GTR, but not the GTR we think about. Thanks for the pitcure.

I think that car will make its debut at GT6, taking advantage from the Nissan-Sony relationship.

What I didnt get is why are the car excluded from GT Academy? Surely it can make one heck of a debut at the last event.

I like to think that Gran Turismo 6 is a vital resource, used by race teams all over the world to gauge race pace, tyre degradation, aerodynamic performance, crash deformation and much more.

Apparently throughout the development and testing of the '07 Nissan R35 GT-R they only ever visited the Nurburgring on Gran Turismo 4

No, you're not alone :)
The only VGT that i have felt that could have used better work on it is the Mitsubishi VGT, at least engine wise.
I understand the inability of tuning these vehicles because they are just concept vehicles, but the Mitsubishi VGT has a horrible engine. The torque curve starts pretty high up, in fact has more torque than Horsepower, but only at the beginning of the curve. Then it goes down like a roller coaster and never goes back up so at the high end, its really low, i can estimate about 175ft./lbs. That engine could have had a better torque curve. Power isn't a problem though, nor is handling. But that much torque for the bottom end of the rev range leaves more to be desired at the top end.

Maybe not for you, but ZOMG LFA AND 97T IN TEH SAME GAME.
Oh I still have the LFA, but the 97T is now meh to me now. It also sometimes annoys me when I see people use it on online, but don't know why? Maybe because it's too fast and goes through corners quick to the point it'll probably ram you...

The 97T is too awesome.

It will not be a LMP in any shape or form. I think it will be a new concept like a VGT or the new R36.

Does no one remember the GT-R being revealed in GT5 Prologue?

And on this basis alone, what would be the logical reason for them to show something other then what's under the cover?

And people stop with the Nissan LMP predictions, its just like PD at E3 this year: Its not happening.

It could be the 2016 GT under the cover if it's a radical enough design change. My money is still on the LMP based on the cover and the whole "new chapter" stuff.

Why are you and some others so adamant that it's not the LMP?

Because the LMP doesn't even get completely unveiled until 2015, that alone is logical reason enough that I as well as many others are sure we aren't getting it. That and again, the shape of that cover does not look like the LMP.

Nismo Le Mans Prototype Prototype?

:sly:

Yes.. the class is "prototype" but im still pretty sure they have few versions before the actual model. "pre-prototypes"? Call then what ever you want. I have always thought le mans prototype is a pretty stupid name. Not like the cars are actually prototypes of somekind.. should be the open class or outlaw.. le mans outlaw..
:odd:👍

I honestly feel we need more road cars, at the very least in my opinion. But not even cars will add more life to GT6...

More road cars? Are you serious?

GT6 is easily the most anemic in the race car category of all of the racing games out there.

There are what? Like 7 race cars that are younger that 2011 in the game currently?

Bring on the LMP1 Nismo.

Too bad most of them are standard and some are from what, 2012 and below? :sly: Also, there isn't going to be a LMP1 Nismo.
