What are the chances that the car under the cover is the LMP2?

Maybe just a mock-up?

The car under the cover in GT and the LMP under the cover don't seem to match up.

I believe it's an LMP2 car under that sheet (for the LMP1) as well. But it's probably this Ligier rather than the Oreca 03.

I'm going to bet that the car will be something completely new, it's not going to be a concept car that has already been unveiled such as the IDx. Whatever is under the tarp will be fantastic, I can sense it. In less than 24 hours we can drive it for ourselves and stop speculating.

Because the LMP doesn't even get completely unveiled until 2015

Source?

Or speculation?

I haven't been able to find a release date. While a year ahead of time would be early traditionally for a LMP release, it wouldn't necessarily be a terrible idea for Nissan to be building hype early.

The GT-R LM Nismo LMP1 does not hit the track until October if I am correct. The new car will not be the LMP as Nissan would not away anything it may have come up with which gives them an upper hand against it's competitors.

There is nothing to gain putting the LMP1 in a game at this stage. The real car will not be finished yet, the specs won't be final and nobody will know how it performs. Adding it into a game with unfinished/non-final styling and completely fictional performance would be pointless.

Vgt cars... they are fictional. Though I do agree about the lmp not being the logical choice.

Nissan says it will test the lmp1 3 times in private at selected locations. Unless someone inside knows where and when, you're not going to see spy photos or any picture of it until after those tests at the least. So no, this is not the lmp1.

Better to put in a car that WILL be real in 12 months time than another VGT.

You actually think Nissan would reveal the car well before the beginning of the 2015 WEC, potentially giving away many of their secrets? I surely hope nobody is getting their hopes up for the LMP1 car.

Roof looks a bit tall compared to what's under the cover.

Edit: Plus that was revealed back in January.

Awesome car though, love the color. 👍 I'd be happy if that were it. :)

@RACECAR Well, since you seem to know more than the rest of us, why don't you clue us in. 💡
