I'm kind of worried about the trend towards lots of aero, that is downforce. If you take the analogy of turbochargers, and the extra performance they bring, but with the extra complication of control, especially when they were first applied, you can perhaps see how that will apply to people getting a grip on the foibles of lots of aero grip in a road car.

However, unlike turbos, I don't see how you can fettle the control in quite the same way, as in turbochargers are getting to be invisible, of little worry for the driver, but I personally can't see how that can happen for aero. That's primarily because of the "leap of faith" required to take advantage of it; it's sort of inherently unsafe, too, as a result.

Maybe I'm just worried about becoming obsolete. :dopey:

It's a good point: faith in aerodynamics to keep a car perfectly stable through a corner does nullify the art of car control. I think the days of four wheel powerslides on the ragged edge are behind us, with modern high-aero cars it seems the only two options are numb stability or flames and bent bodywork, there's no longer a linearity between the two extremes.

As long as it comes with an interior (like the FT-1 and the Citroen GT) and the release doesn't get delayed, i think i'll be looking forward to this car.

To make clear, i have nothing against Nissan or Datsun.

But if this is their interpretation of the future, then i dont want to be part of any of this vision...

The way it looks, it is too similar to the hover crafts of the Super Nintendo's vision of the future, i just prefer and want something a little more down to earth, with a little more passion and beautiful form for the pleasure of driving, not ultimate speed.

This goes to show that having the "right" vision is not as easy as it sounds or looks, the "right" stuff always requires a dash of humanity/passion

Not just pure robotic speed... we need a vision with more heart and soul... i look at you Alfa...

Let's at least give Nissan a hand for going the extreme and show what not to do with a Vision...

I want to paint it black. Hope it's no FT-1 case where you can buy the car in different colours, with their own paintchips and not be able to paint the car yourself.

We aren't really sure yet. It could sound better than the 97T for all we know. Hell, we don't even know what the rear of it looks like.
Uh oh. :scared: Don't think that, or you'll may end up disappointed. That car only sounds good because Ayrton Senna. That's why I'm saying it'll sound like a GT-R, because I'm playing it safe to not up disappointed by PD's lack of effort to making good sounding engines. :sly:

I'm not even excited about this car. I'm just pointing out that it can sound like anything, not necessarily a GT-R.
