Think this would be better suited for the Console Gaming section and/or the PS4/Orbis thread. ;)

Agreed. Moved to console/gaming section.

If this is true then 20.02.2013 might be the date when sony actually shows or post some actual real information about PS4 👍

Looks cheaper than the ps3 controller, which was to be expected. The quality of that one destroys the xbox one and is probably the best quality gamepad I have ever tried and seen.

I like the look of that, looks beefier than the PS3 controller, which is good for me as I have rather large hands.

I'm intrigued by the touch pad though, could be a cool feature.

Overall a very subtle change. Those that like the PS2 and PS3 controllers will have no time with these.

Too much stuff together on a single thing imo, i hope it's really just a prototype to show what will have and not the way it will look like.

The xbox360 controller is more comfortable than the ps3 one and has better triggers. There's no way to deny that.

Where it falls short though is built quality. It truly is a toy, whereas with the ps3 you can tell they are losing money by selling it to you or at least they did when the console was released. Same goes to practically all ps3 against xbox360 comparisons on built quality and details, but that requires someone that appreciates that stuff (it's not like a daewoo lemans/racer driver can appreciate the interior of a porsche. Sorry but it is true).

With that said, the best combo would be mixing both. The next generation of new gamers (the 8 year old boys that will be cod players in 4 years) will find the ps1, ps2 and ps3 controller to not be acceptable because they will be spoiled with the xbox360 one.

It had better be fake.

I've got a DS3 in my hands now and reaching over the A sticks to get at where the touch screen would be is not comfortable. They would have to be much shorter sticks and that would hurt controllability.

It would not surprise me if the same genius designer was responsible for the new playstation store, you know the one that makes it difficult to find what you are looking for so you can't buy it. :dunce:

That's because it will

DESTROY

you.

No, the analog sticks looks very uncomfty and the controller looks very fragile. The share button and touchpad are unnecessary things. Why you need a speaker in a controller. The charging port looks to be in a wrong place. It would be hard to play when it is plugged in. I think its just me. I like old things better.

Looks like a cheap and nasty 3rd party controller. If they keep this design, which they probably won't, I bet they'll break all the time.

I think it's the same one, just at a different angle. The speaker/microphone could be a good addition, and it looks like a headphone port at the bottom. Not entirely convinced by the move sensor, but I'm glad they haven't gone overboard with the redesign, at this point.

I absolutely agree with you; I am just looking for excuses to say the controller will destroy something.

Remember guys, this was a prototype sent with the development kit. The final product will be far more polished, IMO.

It IS the same controller as the other pics. Just different angle.
