Hey guys.
I'm totally new in gt5. Got infected by my best friend and so i bought the game and a wheel (driving force gt). My name's tom and my wrs name is gtp_Pr0ndator.
By the way i'm from austria.
Looking forward for some good competition.
P.s: if you find any mistakes feel free to keep them. ;)

New to GTP but an o.g. to GT

I love that online racing is now organized, the serious racers race, and the noobs and little kids are all in the drag race room.

I thoroughly enjoy clean racing rather it be slow, fast, stock or modded vehicles. I look forward to improving my skills and joining in the spec miata series. :sly:

Hi Guys,
I am totally new to online racing!
GTP_Bloodimayhem is my online name for the series.
Can't wait to see what the series brings and how good (or bad) I am.
Good luck all, see you on the track.

Cheers All,

Hey guys, I'm Callum :)

While I'm not new to the Gran Turismo series, I am fairly new to GTPlanet, so I am wondering - what exactly is the WRS? What does it entail?

Thanks everyone :P

Welcome to the WRS

This is a casual weekly race series, You can pick and choose when to race. Some guys do build leader boards to keep track of each week and compare, but its not an official score.

There will be opportunities to race in Teams against other drivers but again the main focus is a weekly time trial with yourself vs others. But you will meet many great drivers here and I'm sure others will want to organize their own championships / team events on the side.

WRS is a great starting place to meet people and race, no matter what your interest is.

First of all: Welcome to the WRS

I want to add something to what Small_Fryz said. This is one of the best ways to improve your driving. You can see it as a competition but to most it's not about the competition but about the fun and the practise. You can have a good impression if you look at this: http://wrs.gtplanet.net/

This is a leaderboard made by gtplanet members Steven and JoostBaksteen. You'll see that these are results of WRS weeks in GT5p and WRS in GT5 will be different with the new handicaps (which the mods probably going to explain later), but the main thing is going to be the same. There was a leaderboard with points too:https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=130550
but most people didn't care about that, cause the main focus is not competition but about improving yourself.

Though it can be nice to win sometimes.
This is what I and small Fryz said a couple of posts back in this thread.

Hello everyone! I'm new here at GTP. Although I've been viewing this web site since GT5 came out. Just signed up for an account to get involved with the WRS! One problem though... I'm unable to PM my info and such. Anyone else have this problem??

Welcome OZD 35,

For sending a PM you have to make at least one post.....which you just did.:)

Hi Guys I'm Callum. been playing GT series since the original when i was 8, but only been a GTP member for about a month. Really looking forward to getting involved in this and proving my worth.

Hi All, new to this online stuff. Hope to race some of you soon :) Need to get qualifying.
I appreciate theres no telling re qualifying times but to give me an idea would the silver in each be good enough? BTW I'm GTP_Stiggolas

Good enough is not really the right saying. You'll always place in a division with guys that you can compete with. The most important part in online racing and WRS is not being fast, but to improve and have fun.

Welcome to the 'online stuff'.:)

Hi everyone! I have been on this forum since November 2010. I never had an interest in online racing and totally relied on the AI to keep me entertained. That all changed recently and I have been doing quite a bit of online racing.

Why is it I never heard about the Weekly Race Series until now? I guess I had my blinders on and concentrating on completing the levels of the game. Funny because I had GT Prologue and never went online once.

I am contemplating getting involved in the WRS. Not sure if I have the time. I will only be racing during the winter months. Maybe a little during the summer.

Hi everyone,
I have just joined the forums and WRS and are yet to commence my qual laps (job for tonight). Looking forward to trying to rip out a few quick laps and see where it all goes.

Cheers.

Hey fellow racers,

I'm new to GTP and GT5. I've been online racing for 6-7 years on my PC but it's time I switched to the console world.

Can't wait to participate in a few events
