Didn't hurt that you were born to alien parents either.

I was never an alien mate...
Don't know how it happen to be honest, I got the wheel in September last year, pretty much just drove cars 'round the Ring, raced with my friend (whom I regard as one of the fastest drivers on GT5, he taught me basically everything, without him I'd still be a AT user who uses pad and is scared of racing because of "bad online physics"), lurked around on GTP, stumbbled upon WRS, made an account here, ran WRS qualfier and ended up somewhere I have never expected to end up... I actually felt that I got a bit faster after I got my driver's licence, possibly that the real life driving experience has made me faster on GT5, who knows.

👍 The parts in bold are spot on in my opinion. Clean, fun and friendly!

You'll find some close battles regardless of your speed or skill as the entire spectrum of drivers race and compete here... that's what makes it even better.

Welcome.

Sounds perfect! :D Thanks!

I've submitted my qualifier now. Couldn't improve any in my attempts tonight so I think that's about my best - I spent a good 3 hours on it, which is about how much time I think I'll spend on each event, depending on spare time and/or boredom. :P

Hey everyone ! I'm turbo77vince from Australia. I only submitted my registry qualifier today so hopefully it gets approved smoothly & I can start taking part in events soon. I'm new to all this so any advice would be appreciated. Cheers !

What's the next step of the getting started process ? What should I do next ?

Congratulation and welcome :)
One thing you can make sure next is that you have a way to upload your ghost replay data so people can download it to verify its a clean lap.

Cheers! I'll keep that in mind. However, I'm not sure if my lap times are fast enough that they need to be verified... Ha ha

I'm looking forward to comparing my times with other like minded simulator racers & learning how to get the most out of a car.

Hi Vince. Welcome! :gtpflag:

The only thing you need to do now is wait untill the newest batch of qualifier submitters is processed and announced like here in this thread.

Once you're announced, you can officially take part in the WRS Time Trials and the WRS Online Events.

The guides on replay uploading - Like Mike mentioned - can all be found here.

Have fun!

Thanks! I'm looking forward to comparing my times with other like minded simulator racer & trying to get the most out of a car.

Hi, all, I'm Manuele, 33, from Italy. Just sent my qualify submission. Looking forward to improve both my english and my driving skills (both very bad, ahah) playing here with you.

Bye!

Hi Manuele, welcome to the WRS. This is definitely a great place to improve your driving skills. As for your english, it seems to be very good, better than my Italian: Io capisco un po L'Italiano. No clue if I spelled any of that correctly, thats all I can say so un po(a little) are the key words. I know how you feel though, I'm learning German and it is a challenge and can be very frustrating at times.

Alright.... After a very long time, I've finally caved and decided to jump on board and submit my times to join the WRS. I've been a long time GT player and lurker on the boards, but now I'm looking for some challenges with other fellow GT fanatics. I look forward to becoming a better driver and racing with some of you guys online.

Me too. Been here for many months and finally took the plunge to join WRS- just waiting to see where I qualify. :)

Welcome and Welcome! Glad to have you both! YOU WILL enjoy yourselves!

Yeah, I'm interested in seeing where I qualify, too. I feel confident in my times, but I'm sure there are people much faster than me.

Thanks guys!! Also.... Woot!!! Got the results from my submission. I'm in d2:gold. If anybody wants to add me to their friends list, my psn id is GTP_Dillariam.

I saw you already filled out the 3d3 racing form and I added you to the friends list. You are welcome to pop in the lounge (GTP_3D3Racing) anytime... Should be good action tomorrow in there as we prep for Saturday's event.

Hi,

I am a 32 years old racer from Germany. My sim racing "career" started in the early 90's (with titles like "Indianapolis 500", "Formula One Grand Prix", "IndyCar Racing" and many more). Started on the Amiga and moved forward to PC and console. Made my first Gran Turismo experience with GT4 and a DFP wheel.

Looking forward to have a lot of fun here and clean races :-)

See you on track!

Hows it going guys, I've been playing gran turismo since part one. Amongst my friends I have been one of the fastest, but after finding the wrs leaderboards I have come to realize that I still have a lot to learn. I have already submitted my qualifiers, and I look forward to learning from all of you.

Good luck to all the new guys and Ill see you all on the track.

Welcome guys 👍
Good luck with your quali submission panchopuga and bazingall, and see you all soon!

Hello GTP,

I figured I should do this sooner or later so I finally submitted my times to the registry this morning. I've been playing since The first game way back but only now have I really found a consistent few hours a week to dedicate to this. I got tired of the random rooms you find online so I'm looking for something a little more organized, competitive and friendly and this seems to fit the bill nicely.

Hope to be participating soon!

Submitted on Monday, starting to get clammy palms waiting for the green light..... Looking forward to seeing where or if I qualify. Fingers crossed.

I have been watching this thread for over a year now but wanted to wait to get my wheel and then learn to drive all over again. I hope I nailed the Nurb !

Hi everyone, new to QTP I have done some Online race. Just finished the GTP_Registry Qualifier (Submission), times sent in PM. PSN: GTP_NOXRAcing

Just submitting my times tonight. Not sure where I'll fit in. Been working hard to get the times down. Frustrating at times when I achieve a good time but then regress and can't back to it again. Looking forward to racing in the GTP SERIES though.

Hi, Alan here. 53 year old Scottish ex pat living in Norway. I've done the last three TT's now (101, 102 and 103) and have to say that this has really revitalised my interest in GT5. Nice crowd and nice challenges. Thanks for all the work behind the scenes 👍

Pleased to make your acquaintance Alan mate. I'm Chris, 41, English living in, well, England. :D GTPlanet is the best online community of any kind I have been a member of... here's to a long and productive stay. 👍
