It looks like they extended TT #28 to the 27th ... main screen still says ending tonight but the standings and race screen show Feb 27th.

I hope that does not mean we get nothing new until then. Was hoping for a new one tonight.
It might be a glitch. Usually we don't see new events until Wednesday night at 22:00 EST (GMT -5)

OK, I've spent probably close to 24 hours over the past two weeks trying to go fast on the Rome-Reverse time trial driving a NSX-R. Probably a week ago I set a 1:10.372 lap time and I've been trying to get close to that time since that time. Tonight I loaded up ugabugaz setup and I was able to put down a 1:10.383 lap, fast, but not fast enough.

So, I'm issuing a challenge to those on GT Planet.net.
If you can successfully help me go faster by at least 0.250 s, there is a $50 iTunes gift certificate in it for you.

Watch the video of my 1:10.383 second lap on YouTube.

And start making CONSTRUCTIVE criticism of how I can go faster.

Broad stroke statements like "Slow in, fast out" or "use the curbs more" are not appreciated.

I'm looking for someone to say, "at 59s in the lap, you should be at 94 MPH and closer to the wall on the left."

As a guide, use the attached PDF file when referencing the corners on the track.

OK, GO, make me proud gtplanet.net!

Turn off the driving line, you will eventually be faster without it.

I'm currently exactly .315 faster than you with the same setup. For me the lap is all in the chicane. Kinda hard to see exactly on your TV but I may be braking later than you for the first corner and I don't go that wide through the first corner. Keeping it tight is faster for me.

Does your NSX have the Chassis Reinforcement? I tried both and think it's easier to drive without, ymmv.

Tsukuba Toyota 86: 282th with a 1:10.319
Rome Reverse with NSX LM Road Car: 202th with a 1:09.692

So far this is the only time I've reached the top 1000 in BOTH events :D

Just took a quick look at your video, and here's what strikes me;

Turn 2: brake earlier, 150m-ish, then let it roll through the T2 and stay in 4th gear, this will help you keep the car stable. Then keep a tight line on the approach to T3-4, as you're running wide. Then shift up to 5th gear before exiting T4, this will give you stable acceleration for the long left hander. Then shift up to 6th gear before the exit of T5, this again will allow you to keep a tight line. Now for the chicane (T6-7); this takes a bit of practice - but on the approach, run all over the rumble kerbs, right next to the wall (like almost touching it), brake at 100m, shift down to 4th and then turn in right after the 50m board. Let it roll through the apex (be all over the inside kerbs!) and get on the throttle asap, and get it into 6th on the straight (I think you kept it in fifth). T8-9 look ok. But you're too slow through T10-11, keep it in 4th and push it more - feel the grip of the car, and make sure you're up into 5th before arriving at the inside kerbs of T12.

As said before me - turn the driving line off, and download the #1's ghost and take a look at that as well. Good luck! 👍

I have not run the Rome Reverse time trial yet. Anyway some recommendations as mentioned by others. Turn off the driving line. Learn visual markers for brake points. Best way to learn them is looking at the top 10 replays and seeing where they brake and what speed they slow down to and what point they power out and seeing at what speed to power out at roughly. I saw your video and it seems that you spend a lot of time on half throttle on some corners. All I can say is get to full throttle as quick as possible in some of them corners and you could probably gain at least a second.

I hope this is true!!! I'm loving this TT and plans have kept me away from my PS3 these past few days. Would love to have more time with it.

bet you he was just waiting for someone to beat his time, and upon his first lap, gets 1st place again.

Dam doodle way to let the secret out :P haha jk
Thanks!

My very first time tuning a car btw ^^ Not as hard as I thought it would be

Just borrowed your car and it is indeed a great tune 👍. Hoping to be back in time to put a faster lap with it. I am recent DFGT convert and find it hard to control the oversteer most of the time :scared:

Anybody notice that granturismo.com says the time and drift trials end in just under 2 hours, but in-game the drift trial says it expires on 28th february?

Can anybody lend me the nsx that everybody is using for the tt 28 please,I had to borrow this before for something else. I have never seen it anywhere to buy/win how can I get one for myself,or If anyone has a spare one I would be happy to swap if I have the car you want.cheers here's hoping :)

My NSX-R is set to share. Add PSN ID tbirchar

Unfortunately, my NSX-R has the chassis reinforcement on it. I really hate how you can not remove this part on the car.

OK, I've taken your advice and I was able to slightly improve to a 1:10.314. After dinner I'll put in more time and see if I can get into the UPPER 1:09 range.

Whenever I get to full throttle sooner, the car either understeers wide or I oversteer into the wall.

What can I change in my setup to allow me to pick up the throttle sooner?

Am I held back using my DFGT wheel?

Holy quad post batman

DFGT is fine, plenty of fast guys use it.. Try messing with lsd to suit your exit strategy 👍

I might just do the same to see if there's any difference

guess you can squash that idea

LOL I know, but you can still borrow his car to see the tune :) I liked the gear ratios; watched lester's awesome run a few times and picked up a few key things he was doing like dropping to 2nd to correct on corners/use less brake and quick 3rd to power out etc. His tune really suits this style of driving. But of course we all know lester is a qualified alien. His stock car times were already crazy :)

Dropped my Tsukuba time to 1:10.4, good for 362nd. Not bad for my slow butt's first real attempt at a TT. Of course I probably spent 8 or 10 times as much time on it than anyone else :P .

I forgot I was going to check through the list to see how many used zero aids, oops. Tomorrow I guess. I just know third place didn't use ABS, and on a controller even. Very smooth lap.

Well, I did go faster before the deadline and I put in a 1:09.909s for something like 262nd overall.

The secret to the extra 0.4s in speed? Traction control set at 1.

I know, I know, this goes against standard principles of going faster, but it worked, right? I really think I need to adjust the pedal position on my homemade "playseat" setup. I think it is hard for me to properly modulate the throttle. If anyone asks or is interested, I can post a few photos of my setup.
