I can't break into the 1:10's, it's getting frustrating. I've been chase it all day, but i did move up from 4000 to 1500. I'm sitting at a 1:11.2xx. Really frustrating.

Thanks to Gerchu and eclipsee for the setup info đź‘Ť. I ran this time trial again seeing if the setup tweaks will help me and considering I didn't run this TT for a good few days, I was surprised that my first lap that was valid was good enough to put me in top 250. After a few more lap I got to 69th place and left it at that. There is a good few tenths left for me so might give it another run just for fun. Amazing how much difference a very good setup can make on this combo compared to a half decent one, I improved by 9 tenths without feeling like coming close to the limit yet while before I was wondering how am I going to go to such low times if I tried to.
You're welcome!

I've tried to get into the 1:10's also. I'm sitting at 1:11.713. That's about as good as it's going to get for me. Spent alot of time last night trying to improve and started to backslide, so I think I've exhausted all effort at this point. Even if I didn't crack the top 250, reaching a 1:10.9 would have suited me just fine.

I was driving lousy last night, couldn't get within half a second of my best with a nearly identical setup to what I ran several laps within 2 tenths the night before.

Added body aero only and confirmed my long-time suspicion that it is 100% cosmetic only, thanks PD. A wing(removed the rest) seemed to help a little but still I couldn't get too close to my old time. Added all bolt-on upgrades and limited the hp and soon improved my best by a tenth or so. I was up by a fair bit later but blew it.

So I fully beefed up the engine, limited to not much over 50%, and fully lightened it, moving the weight a bit more to the rear. Imagine that, the times dropped immediately by a wide margin and I reached 1:10.6 and 750th place.

I'll have to see if I can improve a little more assuming my driving was still not my best. Following the top ghosts might help too even though the gap is wide. I saw #10 was using no ABS and a DS3. DS3 might make the style a bit different but it's hard to find a non-ABS ghost to chase.

I'm trying to break into the 1.09's, I'm currently at 1:10.085 (Ranked 147 atm) :dopey:

*EDIT*

Just got it down to a 1'10.006 !!! Grrrrr !!!! Y U SO CLOSE 1'09 !!!!

@chris just go for it. Yesterday i was at 1.10.004 today i made a 1.09.5xx. You just have to try some more.

Flo
Ps: Tanks for the setting from Gerchu and eclipse. It helped me very much. But One Question i still got. How did you find that transmission setting gerchu? Is there a trick with it? Or was it just try and error.

Yup. I'll keep trying, I almost had a 1'09 ...then I effed up one of the corners lol

I need to relax now, I start losing focus after a while.

I know i have a low 1:10 run, it's just stringing it all together that's the pain, it's driving on a knifes edge, one little slip and you fall off. I've change various setting, but it seems it's just down to pulling off the knife edge run. I've seen it, so close. I was .5 seconds a head of my ghost then lose it in the next corner. I have a CRS wheel and the Elite pedals, flopping out the clutch spring and gas spring really helps with throttle control. It's a little stiffer than I'd like it to be, to bad they don't offer a spring kit for these pedals.

Best TT's in a while is my opinion. Thanks to all who posted set-ups and PD for the hard work...cant wait to get back home to throw down some laps

^^ lol, my ghost is confidential! :D

I believe the TT ends on the 8th of Feb., so there is still 4 days left.

I would like to make it in the top 100, with at least a 1'09.5xx ...I'll just have to keep trying. :)

@Mmm_Fish_Tacos; Do you need any tips? Maybe I can help you??? đź‘Ť

I decided to finally try out the Drift Trials at Madrid Reverse and SSR7. I first did the Special Stage Route 7 course. I managed to get 3430 points with my AEM S2000. The first section doesn't allow you very much space to work. You basically need to attack precisely with such little space. The second section is wide open, but how you attack this hairpin can mean the difference between many points and very little points. The final part is pretty straightforward. One thing I tried to do was put on a low-speed turbo kit to get up to speed quicker through the slow sections.

After my trials at SSR7, it was time to do Madrid Reverse in the 86 GT. Considering its namesake with the 86, it would be sad if you can't drift this car out like the good old AE86. I basically had the same configuration from the Tsukuba Time Trial for the 86 GT in attacking this course. I put on the Comfort Softs and tried my best. Couldn't slide her in the corners well enough. What I did differently was go with Comfort Mediums at the rear and Comfort Softs up front. Harder tires at the rear means better sliding. However, you have to make sure to control that sliding. I even added two ticks less front brake and two ticks more rear brake. My drifting with this car was getting better as I managed Bronze. My score was 7556.

Maybe with practice, I'll knock down Gold for the Madrid Reverse course. Still, it's a pretty decent challenge.

Finally got into the .9's yesterday and decided to give it a go again today. I played for about 20 minutes and shaved off a bit more to 1.09.8xx, good for 72nd. The lap was pretty crappy with a few corners taken perfectly. I know I have about another 4 tenths but I don't think I have the patience to try and get them.

Yeah, I resorted to more power. Only 30 or so HP more but made a big difference. I found it hard to keep up a drift on stock.

Okay, so I just ran a 1:10.7xx good to take 640ish in the rankings. I'm afraid I'm going to have to start chasing that 1:09. Too addicting! I have a whole stack of games to play, but i put hours and hours into this one. Don't know why I keep buying more.

Anyone got a good setup for the GT 86 drift trial on Madrid Reverse? And what's the best car and setup for doing the SSR7 one?

Can anybody lend me the nsx that everybody is using for the tt 28 please,I had to borrow this before for something else. I have never seen it anywhere to buy/win how can I get one for myself,or If anyone has a spare one I would be happy to swap if I have the car you want.cheers here's hoping :)

Does anybody know why you cant select a region(red strike through it) in the time trials to see how you are doing against people in you region ?

I improved myself after I posted that. I went down another 4 tenths to a 1:10.413 and in 342th place using a controller. This is so far my 3rd top 500 finish right now (280th in the X2010 Monza TT and 12th at Kart Space)

Turismo-lester has just taken the lead from eclipsee. Nice lap

Dang it! I was going to take a night off from GT today. I told my self no. Now with this news I have to log on and check out that lap. Then you know what? I'm going to spend hours improving my time! Gezz.

It looks like they extended TT #28 to the 27th ... main screen still says ending tonight but the standings and race screen show Feb 27th.

I hope that does not mean we get nothing new until then. Was hoping for a new one tonight.

Since I've been getting lots of messages on PSN for my setup...I think I'll post it here..Enjoy

OK, I've spent probably close to 24 hours over the past two weeks trying to go fast on the Rome-Reverse time trial driving a NSX-R. Probably a week ago I set a 1:10.372 lap time and I've been trying to get close to that time since that time. Tonight I loaded up ugabugaz setup and I was able to put down a 1:10.383 lap, fast, but not fast enough.

So, I'm issuing a challenge to those on GT Planet.net.
If you can successfully help me go faster by at least 0.250 s, there is a $50 iTunes gift certificate in it for you.

Watch the video of my 1:10.383 second lap on YouTube.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zv3uB7PuMkM

And start making CONSTRUCTIVE criticism of how I can go faster.

Broad stroke statements like "Slow in, fast out" or "use the curbs more" are not appreciated.

I'm looking for someone to say, "at 59s in the lap, you should be at 94 MPH and closer to the wall on the left."

As a guide, use the attached PDF file when referencing the corners on the track.

OK, GO, make me proud gtplanet.net!
