I thought that, i could go as fast with this as my tune, its the first time i have tried to properly tune so try it if you would and see what you think. To me its nice and tight with accurate steering and a sweet second gear for the hairpins. I might be a mile off. Like i said my first attempt at a tune.:nervous:

If its cr@ sorry but it feels good, certainly better than i am. It got me 1.11's and picking the best elements from my times there is a good second to come if i had the time. (see what i did there:sly:).:ouch:

Although I'm still working on my own tune, I'll give this a try a little later and let you know. I tune my own cars with good success, but for some reason this car is giving me fits. I think its the tires as I usually run and tune on racing softs.

Ran for about 20 minutes earlier today and got down to 1'10.567, I ran lots of 10s but taking down those extra 0.5 will be a tad more difficult that I thought it will.
Used Prariano's tune but it didn't do me any good (just a 0.1 improvement which I wouldn't contribute to the tune to be honest). Will give Gerchu's tune a go tomorrow if I get some time to run.

My set is:
Aero max, LSD 5/18/5, ballast at 50, Prariano's suspension (not happy with it since it obviously wasn't made for use with ballast at 50) and 7/7 brake balance with ABS 4, I'm using close ratio transmission.

Oh, and as I used to play a lot of football I understand the concept of crowd so my cheers go to Eclipsi, go for #1 man!

Cheers.

1.11.9xx is the best I can pull with a controller at the moment. I absolutely love challenging events like this.

I'm feeling a bit out of it with Tsukuba - I'm over 3 seconds off the top time, on a 70 second lap! I was under 4 seconds off on the GTR event we had a while back and that was a massive track. Going to have to scour this thread for setups.

Just tried out your tune. I pretty much knew how it was going to work before I tried it and I was right. Just my opinion: Your ballast is in the wrong direction making the car push badly through the corners. I have mine in the opposite direction. Shocks are a bit too soft and your LSD could use a bit of work. Not bad tho for your first tune. The ballast is the main thing tho. Change it the opposite of what you have it and see how you like it. As soon as I get mine tweaked, I'll post it.

Thanks for the feedback, i'll see what i can do with it now.

Dark blue tires = cold = no traction. Especially online. It's there, just not implemented entirely correct.
I can't speak for online races but for seasonal TT's the fastest lap is the first one when tires are dark blue, so figure out how wrong is that.

The Toyota GT86 is very balanced and drives beautifully in stock form, even on CH tyres.
I haven't tried in stock form but the suspension fully customisable kit is absolutely balanced, I only have tweaked the ride height in the suspension, this is what I'm using:

-20/-20
10.5/3.5
5/5
5/5
3/3

I tried to use the setup posted by Gerchu but I can't modify the transmission with his numbers... For example the minimun I can setup for the 1st gear is 3.143!! I don't understand why... Can someone explain it to me??
Probably you are not using Gerchu's rims, Ealirendur was very kind to enlighten me in the WRS week 49 session the rims affect the gear ratios, WRS TT's aren't only fun, you learn a lot of things there. 👍

It's always great to be understood, cheers mate.

^ This.
I've mine in the opposite direction too, I'm using 138/+50

Hey cedpo! do you see how multiquote works? :P just kidding man, you seem a nice guy 👍 , força Brasil!

Tsukuba: Ok I've been tuning for a few hours on this and I just can't get the car to rotate going into the tight corners. Watching the replays of the fast guys on any track and they get more rotation going into the corner. I'm running 1:11s and have tried everything I can think of.

How do you get the car to rotate going into the corner? I've messed with brakes, lsd, all the suspension settings. Help please.

Anybody have an NSX I can borrow for Rome??

Thanks

Trail brake!! :)

It's the same with the standard rims!! I'm going crazy!!

EDIT: Problem solved. I bought a new GT 86! :D

currently I do 1.10.912 with ft 86 and I'm 619th I use gertchu setup but I can improve better in some sectors

Had a go while my mate was at my place (hotlapping with crowd :D) and got down to 1'10.3xx, currently 160ish, still aiming for that ellusive 1'09, but I'll get it, I'm certain.
I'm busy tonight though so I'll get run time tomorrow.

PS. I used stock suspension and short ratio gearbox.

EDIT: Thank you for the suspension setting Eclipsi! Can't wait to give your setup a go.

You're welcome  , the suspension was already there though. 👍
I won't give my whole setup, that's bread for today and famine for tomorrow, it's better advising how to fish than giving a fish, you'll be able in short time to see what I do to set up my cars, in the WRS section of course.

I understand totally, I for one want you to stay on top. :)
I did the WRS qualifier, and I can't wait to give the WRS a go.
Thanks again for the tune tip!

I ran the 86 for a few laps, stock, and pulled a 1:13.2xx, so I can't wait to try some of these tunes, thanks guys.

Good luck all.

I love the 86GT time trial. Most fun I've had in a seasonal so far. Haven't even tried the other one yet.

They just need to fix the power limiter, so it's closer to what a 400pp car should be when used. That or limit how much you can cut the power. Limiting it to untuned cars ruins the suspension tuning aspect, so that wouldn't work.

Plenty of fun indeed :)

Anyone up for an online race or two in these? Made a room called Toyota FT-86 with circuit currently set at Tsukuba (# 1472-4710-9995-5397-7986). Feel free to join and thrash these cars (without too much contact of course ;) )

Had another stint and got down to 1'10.052, I went wide in corner leading to T2 and I went with rear right wheel on grass, almost lost it and due to that I missed the apex in the following hairpin. :banghead:
It would have been a 1'09.8xx lap for sure. :(

Anyways, 97th as of now and pretty pleased although I haven't given up on this one. :)
I'm using Eclipsi's suspension settings with 1.3/1.3 camber and -0.08/0.20 toe and I'm still using short ratio gearbox.

excuse mate but I don't understand how rims can influence gear ratio. I've read all thread "GTP_WRS Week 49 : Unofficial Results " but I've not read anything about relationship rims/gear ratio (maybe I misread :ouch:). Anyway, which criterion for the choice of rims? I'll installing all:sly: and test them one by one:crazy:?

Had a lot of fun with 86 Tsukuba TT yesterday, drove for hours in a car I'd never touched.

Got down to I think 1:12.3 in the bone stock(no oil) free one. Bought another and put all non-power-or-weight-or-aero-affecting parts on it, still no oil or break-in. After a lot of [likely counter-productive] tuning, I got down around 1:11.5(maybe 4, not sure, I was stuck at 6 for a looooooong time).

I changed its oil and will add aero parts next and see how it goes, then finally strip it and boost it and wedge it under the regs as it seems the leaders are doing.

Going from 1:13 to 1:12 took me from rank 116,000 to 4,500 lol. I think I ended the day in the low 2,000s.

Fun stuff, nice car, even rolling on petrified tree trunks.

I do today 1.10.845 currently 588th I'm quite happy I read all competitors are 115.000+ but I believe I can do better
