And Belichick unleashes Tebow in a way that makes all other teams jealous that they passed up on a chance to play with such a team player

Doesn't help that the team he was on before couldn't use any player in any fashion.

I'm sure Tebow can make some high quality H2O.

Guessing he will ride the bench unless Brady gets hurt.

This is the new Vikings Stadium, I like it but don't see it aging well.

Looks like a steel fortune cookie.

Looks like parking will still suck, at least I can take the train there.

I thought I-94 is your parking lot?

Tebow to the Patriots.

Should be...uh, interesting; although unless something both magical (for Tebow) and terrible (for Brady) happens, he's going to do a Vinny Testaverde and be the clipboard-holder's clipboard-holder. Now that's there's actual running quarterbacks that can be awesome quarterbacks (Kapernick, Russell Wilson), his "novelty" is almost on E. Nice guy, but them's the breaks.

If something happens to Brady, it's Ryan Mallet time. The Pats want to turn him into Southern-Fried Matt Cassel with a catapult attached at the shoulder. Tebow is insurance for when Gronkowski's arm finally falls off. I think he can be a good TE or something. He'll never be a good passer, but the Patriots will certainly find a place for him. See: Doug Flutie. It's good, too-- Tebow is a good guy and got a raw deal with Sparanoball.

I was just wondering about that. Maybe FoolKiller can chime in regarding our league. You down to comish, Steve?

I believe he is and he should be. He's done a great job. 👍

Me too. Had an absolute blast playing last year. 👍

I'll definitely attend this year's draft. So can't wait! GTA5, PS4, GT6 and FFL who needs summer? :)

I'd like to join and just beat Omnis. Only chance any of my teams will beat his :lol:.

I've already missed the Tebow conversation, but as a Patriots fan I'm actually kind of excited about this. Tebow really isn't a bad player. He just hasn't had the right coaches to help him along in his career. I think that with his running skills, he will develop into a well rounded QB under the hand of Tom Brady.

I can easily foresee wildcat offense coming to the Patriots this year. Mark my words... if Tebow makes the team, he will see more game time than Ryan Mallett.

Can't wait. I don't understand why people think it's his fault for the poor performance of the team around him (speaking of last year). I would have dumped Sanchez years ago, and would have started Tebow because I think with the right scheme he could lead a scary-good offense.

Yeah, Hernandez is done. Stick a fork in him. Meatheaded idiot. University of Felons represent!

The college football thread was brought back. With that, let me bring back another Football thread- the NFL Offseason thread. I figured I'd make my own sort of update on my team. Among other Texans, we signed WR DeAndre Hopkins recently. Other players signed include the likes of S D.J. Swearinger and OT Brennan Williams.

Now it's time I share the Texans' road through the 2013 season. Here goes:

--- 2013 Preseason ---
8/9: at Minnesota
8/17: Miami
8/25: New Orleans
8/29: at Dallas

--- 2013 Regular Season ---
NOTE: ! = Division (AFC South) opponents

9/9: at San Diego (MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL)
9/15: Tennessee!
9/22: at Baltimore
9/29: Seattle
10/6: at San Francisco (SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL)
10/13: St. Louis
10/20: at Kansas City
~~~ bye week ~~~
11/3: Indianapolis! (SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL)
11/10: at Arizona
11/17: Oakland
11/24: Jacksonville!
12/1: New England
12/5: at Jacksonville! (THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL)
12/15: at Indianapolis! <<< Texans have NEVER won in IND
12/22: Denver
12/29: at Tennessee!
The game that concerns me the most is the game at San Francisco. Other matches that can be pretty hairy for the Texans are the ones at Baltimore, at Arizona, New England, and at Indianapolis. I do kind of like the schedule ending against our rival Tennessee Titans. We call it the "TNT" rivalry. It kind of brings a college feel when you end your regular season against a rival. I do think we'll make the playoffs for the third straight time. The real question for the Texans is... we have Super Bowl potential. Can we GET there? And if we do, can we take home the Lombardi Trophy in the big game? This a team that has just slowly matured and slowly go from boys to men. As I say, my Texans are more like the NFL equivalent of the Oklahoma City Thunder. I think most of the Texans' hopes will sort of rest on the shoulders of Matt Schaub. He just needs to evolve from being a very good quarterback to being someone like Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady... you know where I'm getting at. Can Schaub be an elite QB? That's going to be my question this season. Arian Foster and company need solid offensive production as well as tossing the rock to Old Reliable (Andre Johnson). J.J. Watt and others have to bring the pain on defense. I am very much hopeful of my boys this season.
I know this isn't the thread for it, but as a Seattleite I dislike the Thunder on principle. We bided our time through the years with a losing team, and just when they have championship potential they are ripped away from us.
On topic, though: While I agree that facing San Fran in San Fran will be tough, don't count out facing the Hawks (even if it's in your house). Between those two teams and their offseason arms-race I think Seattle got the better of it. I don't take your Texans lightly, but I truly believe there isn't a game we shouldn't win.
Well last season, I was concerned about the game vs. Minnesota. The Vikings weren't all that good, but they came in and beat my Texans 23-6 (or whatever it was). You actually can't take ANYONE lightly in the NFL. I think there was a Monday Night game with Tampa Bay at Jacksonville. JAX ended up winning that game 12-3.
So once again- you really can't take anyone lightly no matter who it is.
The worst part for Seattle is that even if he does make it to the regular season he will still likely end up missing a game or two(he has only had 1 season out of 4 where he played every game). Of course even if he does play you have no clue what player you will get.
I really think we could have done better with the first-round pick. But there's a chance I'll be pleasantly surprised, from time to time players do have a turnaround in their careers.
