man look at that non-functional roof scoop.
90% of the stuff tunners put on the body is just for looks anyway, I remember seeing a fully molded roof scoop on a chevy caviler:scared: , most body kits and or accent pieces aren't functional anyway, like fake brake vents and such.

Roof scoops are often simply used to let cool air into the cabin to cool the driver or in some cases they can be used to channel air to a part of the car like the engine or the rear brakes ect. But keeping the drive cool is an important aspect of car design in a lot of race cars, they get too hot, they faint, they crash = bad.

Seeing a McLaren on there makes me drool.

It also makes me puke.

The McLaren is the awful SLR and the Renault is the Clio V6. The pics are on Gamespot (for the 360 version). It's a good looking game for sure, just yet another street racer. They got boring 3 years ago.

Whoa they brought back "Pursuit mode" from NFS: HP2!!!!! Yes where you can be the cop. There are 2 different modes of this too that look like a lot of fun. That was one of my favorite modes of the NFS series! But you will be able to do this online. :dopey:
They also brought back circuit and sprint racing.
There is also a photomode that allows you to take a pic during any race similar to TDU and PGR3. The photo goes to needforspeed.com
Online features walkthrough(31mb)

Really!!?? I will be playing that tonight for sure as soon as I get home. Let us know your first impressions after you play for a little while.

k

Edit:
here my Impression.

The race feel exactly like all the other NFS. There nitro. The cutscene are in real time(The grean RX-7 with the asian inside is in real time & it look good).

The canyon have the same control as the race, but there's no nitro. It's like cat & mouse, but no infinit round. it just a comparison of 2 round in the same direction & not 2 way.

The drift comp point thingy is really weird. It consist of speed like the press said, but the car countersteer for you!!! O_o I've tried the Evo & the car was incredible tricky, coz it grip way too much & feel similar to a 2D games.

As for the graphic. it is pretty much... meh... There's less shader than NFSMW & the graphic look worst & the surrounding is very blurry. Car reflexion are poorer than NFSMW.(I bet it's because the game is made to run on the PS3). The framerate run at 30fps but a bit more stable than NFSMW. In first person view it switch to somwhere around 45fps. That's about it.

how can you see 45fps on a standard TV? The frame rate is just as inconsistant as every EA 360 game.

Most wanted bored me, the demo does not represent the full game but if this what drift mode is going to be like its a wasted feature. Oh yeah cars seem to float above the road surface. At least you can drift in normal races which is cool. I'll have to rent this. My hopeful improvements?

Steady frame rate.
No auto counter steer(Ridge Racer)
More gameplay less story...
This has Need for speed Underground writin all over it..... but with a crappy drift mode.

What POS demo that was. Horrible FPS drops. Horrible Graphics. Horrible Drift mode. Horrible Racing. Horrible just horrible. Did I mention it was horrible? :grumpy:

(I bet it's because the game is made to run on the PS3)

That's funny, becuase all multi-platform games that have been played on PS3 and 360 all seem to have the PS3 version running smoother with more shader effects. But of course you won't accept that right? Since you obviously have no possibility of getting a PS3 to compare for yourself.

I told everyone this game would suck, and it does. Who's surprised? Not me.

Did I said I was accepting the unsteady framerate? I said it was a bit more steady than NFSMW. NFSMW is unsteady even on the PC version. Feel free to bash the 360, cause I smeel the same result on the PS3. :sly:

No one is bashing except you. You're saying that the game "looks and runs worse" beacuse it was "designed to run on the PS3"...which is very much not the case. THe game was started as a multiplatform title from the start.

And I'm willing to bet it'll run a little smoother on the PS3...but that's just my opinion...either way, the game will suck on all platforms.

yep

I personally thought the framerate was crap, but it's better than Most Wanted and TDU. The drifting isn't as "solid" as the drifting in NFSU2, but the car handling/physics/whatever seems more fine tuned and not as slobby as MW. The autosculpt looks good, but I have yet to play around with it. The graphics aren't horrible, per se, but they can use improvement. I just think all these problems are here because EA is most likely making this game for the current-gen systems, so it wouldn't be optimized for the X360/PS3.

Nevertheless, I'll definitely rent it, if not buy it.

I think Heather is DL this for me right now. So when I get out of work in about 2 more hours I will give this demo a try. Cant wait to check out the body morphing and the downhill canyon race. I am keeping extremly open minded and will hopefully enjoy this tonight. I didnt care much for Most wanted but I really liked every single other NFS game that has ever come out. Hopefully this will get me back into the series again.

It's for 12 year olds and drifters, it's crap, that's all I can say. If you liked Tokyo Drift, if you like sliding a car so unrealistically and well ...I'm done.

not even real drifters like me would really even injoy this game. just another way to teach lil ricers how to kill them selfs when they try and drift goin 120 plus.ruins it for everyone.here soon you'll see lambos with 3 foot non functional wings

well, i can say the MW series is still not my cup o' tea. I hate it :(
I miss the old school NFS (1-3/4) and porsche unleashed. You know, when they had techno music instead of rap.

Yes it was, the car list seems good too :(. Shame that 2k Games says the PS3 version of NBA2k7 will look and play better than the xbox 360 version and they even added more animations to boot. Will EA up the quality of this game for PS3 I cant imagine how the Wii version is going to be like.

Too me nothing felt new, it feels too much like an expansion pack for both Most Wanted and Underground 2....... ..and the game engine needs to be retired..

Edit the $70!! collectors edition is pure highway robbery. Just like the Madden Hall of fame, $70!

I'm not impressed at all.

I'll be the 2nd (or 3rd) to admit NFS:U was ok. NFS:U2 was where it went stupid. I'll also admit I enjoyed Most Wanted because it sort of brought back the old days.

And now I see a trend could be starting. Good-Bad-Good-Bad.

Carbon seems to be another attempt at pleasing old fans while still trying to cash in on street racing.

EA, can it after this is all I can say. The physics have gotten worse (ol' NFS games were ok, but this has gone Burnout style almost). The body customizing just keeps getting stupider and stupider as well as drifting. And while it seems companies like Nissan are unforunately returning, others like Ferrari, Pagani, and almost the rest are keeping their cars out of stupid bodykits.

The day I see a Diablo or McLaren in a bodykit thanks to EA is the day I officially disband from anything EA that involves racing. It'll be ridiculous, and completely idiotic.

(cancels download immediately)

*didn't even start download*

When I got home, I saw threads on IGN that there was a demo. And every post thereafter was the same... highly negative.

I just think all these problems are here because EA is most likely making this game for the current-gen systems, so it wouldn't be optimized for the X360/PS3.

That's EA's biggest problem period, IMO. They're so obsessed with releasing their games on every available console that it's quite impossible for them to even attempt to fine-tune the code to run well on just one of them. Everything from them is just a port. It's been that way for years, and I think it'll always be that way. That's why they're going to get left behind, especially this coming generation. The consoles are too different this time. The lowest common denominator between them is just too low. Exclusive games have always looked better than cross-platform games in the past, but I think that gap will widen drastically this coming generation. Cross-platform games will continue to look like simply upgraded "last-gen" titles, while the exclusive games will be the ones that actually look next-gen.

Well I think the racing mode is ok. It is typical NFS gameplay, very much arcade and a few % simulation ( compared to RR6 ;) )I don't really love it, but I guess you can have fun with the cars/races... The customisation idea is not bad, although I don't like the looks of the cars. They look really fake and plastic compared to Import Tuner Challenge which I play the most atm...
The drifting mode is a joke however... I don't like it at all... EA shoud rent a Kaido Battle game before they release it like this ;)... We'll see, maybe I'll get the 32 EUR Asia version someday...
