If you play this game expecting Underground 3 with cops, you're going to be disappointed because the customization is nowhere near the level of Underground 2.
It seems to me that this is more like Hot Pursuit 2, with less cars, but with limited customization. But the visual customization has nothing to do with the game except that cops begin to recognize your car. You can change it if you want to lower your beef with the cops, or just leave it as it is. Customization is NOT required so you dont have to rice out your beautiful car if you dont want to.
I think someone said something before...basically you can choose to keep tuning up your car and racing with it, or just keep upgrading yourself into a new car, because each of the blacklist racers you defeat unlocks 2 or 3 more cars you can purchase. 2 different approaches to the same game.
Cop chases are alot more fun on MW mainly because of the open environments. They havent really been that hard yet, Im maybe 10% into the game, but in the pc demo they were pretty brutal so Im just looking forward to that for now.
Graphics are kind of a disappointment on Xbox. Im not sure what they were going for but it sure looks pretty grainy, even with S-Video cables. Feels like it was rushed to be a part of the 360 release. I havent compared yet but Im pretty sure U2 looked better.
Sound is pretty good as usual for the series, but still no custom soundtracks.
Car physics, like said in many previews/reviews of the game, feel heavier. In general it feels more realistic than HP2 and UG1/2. Its still definately an arcade racer, and still feels like an NFS game.

Thats just some of my views on it from playing last night. Im not gonna sit here and argue which game is better or worse than MW, or argue against others opinions. Personally I like it as a game but they kind of botched the online mode again. STILL only 4 people in a room, No cop chases online, like CAMAROBOY said only Circuit, Sprint, and Drag races. It doesnt kick you out of the room after a race, but now its got some gay perpetual countdown timer that auto launches the race unless someone is changing options. EA servers suck my **** and ruin everything.
Someone's just got to find a glitch like U2 where you can free roam the city.
