I'm in. Got a nice level 6 car up and ready, but I'd like to see some laptimes to see how it stacks up against the rest. I'll post some Spa laptimes myself tonight.

Great there seems to be loads interestead in this so I'll clarify the rules for the first round.

Cars
You need 3 cars, any car will be allowed as long as they don't exceed the performance points set down thus. Car 1 no more than 4.0 PP, car 2 no more than pp 6.0 and car 3 no more than pp 10.0. You can use any car from any tier as long as it dosn't exceed these performance points.

The track
spa........simples, each race (for each car) will consist of a 2 lap warmup followed by the main race which will be 10 laps. so the whole event will see you doing 36 laps in 3 different cars.

The time trial
There will be a time trial leaderboard up on the first post of this thread, it will be split into 3, one for each class of car. please post your times in this thread with the relervant car and it's PP so I can add it to the time trial board, this will give everyone an idea of how competertive there car is and if it needs more work. Your position on the timetrial board dictates the lobby you will be in for the race.

Points
There will be minor points awarded for timetrial positions and substantial points awarded for the race positions. I'll total them all up at the end of this round of the event and post them up.

Timings for the races
This is the first event of what I hope to be many and as such we'll see how long people need to get cars together and the event may be extended depending on this, we are looking at running the races next weekend though.

Practice
Feel free to hold small races throughout the week, but there will be a main practice event on wendsday, this is to get people acustomed to racing each other and to see how well your car stacks up againts the field.

The Lobbys
The lobbys will be private lobbys so you need to make sure other racers have your PSN name so you can be invited in. Which lobby your in is on the first page and is determined by your overall timetrial position.

..............
Right on the first post you will find all competertors names, please post your timetrial laptimes up so we can get things started

I'll start off with a time, I have no clue whatsoever if it is any good.

Car: Audi S3
Rating: 5,99
Laptime: 2:48'920

Im on xbox so I can't do the races but can I still participate in the time trials?

As a first YES your times will be posted on the leaderboard but obviously they don't count towards points or race lobby placement......unless there is more 360 or PC guys wish to join in in which case I will award points based on your comparable positions........first cross platform series? there maybe discrepencies in times but we'll see. Your name and all other 360 users will be shown in green on the leader boards. PC users in blue.

Cool, If anyone else does have the game on 360 it would be pretty cool to be able to get a cross platform series going. The times should be the same though really as I can't see the physics been any different. I just mainly want to compare the times as I'm interested to see where I am compared to everyone else.

I really enjoy setting up a car for this event. First you have to select which upgrades you want to use to fit within the rating limit. This also determines which parts of the car you can tune or not (e.g. you can't tune the suspension unless you have a level 3 suspension). Then set it up and see how it stacks up against other combinations. The number of combinations and approaches is immense this way (e.g. go for power upgrades, handling upgrades, or a combo?). 👍

BTW, I'm thinking Shelby GT500 for the 10.0 car. :)

Cool my bmw 6.0 hits 130mph down the straight and my Audi RS4 10.0 hit's 140mph I'll go and do some times to start filling the leaderboard. Times for the board end on Friday!

Quick one on tuning for the race, ride hight! if you lower and stiffen the car be aware that you can go too far very easily, the result is a car that will ground and then bounce on some of the bigger bumps! trial and error realy but going just a little too far will have BIG effects! if you'r cars bounceing first off raise the ride hight, it should sort it out. The trick though is to know where the bumps are and avoid them unsettleing your car. my BMW is a trade off, theres two places on the track where it will bounce but I know where they are and can adapt my line acordingly, If however I take the car on another track which is quite bumpy......bounce city! the tuning is very tied in to the car physics!

I already noticed this on other tracks. It's definitely not like GT5P where you can just lower most cars to the lowest possible position. Also, because you have to tune in big steps instead of the tiny changes in GT5P, tuning effects are much more pronounced.

So, where are those other lap times? Give me something to shoot for! ;)

I may be interested if its at the right time for me. I'm saving up for a tier 3 car, so I probably can't afford to build new ones now.

I will get some times up today. just need to finish off some work.

Quick note on the race times, we'll try and acomodate everybody but ultimatly this will be imposable, to that end If you can't make a race for any reason don't sweat about it, there will be no preasure for you to attend. But ultimatly your points will suffer! you can however take part in the time trial and still gain points even if you can't make every race! For those with the PC and X-box 360 you can also compete but obviously only on the time trials, saying this if you can get enough of you together theres no reason why you can't race a seperate PC or 360 series and the points will be added, to this end though you must have at least 8 people competing to make it fair.Points will run continously from rase series to race series and will be rest after 4 race series. making this a championship if you will. so miss one race and you can still claw your way back up in the following 3 races. Each series will have specific cars PP and tracks be it open car selection or one make races with no tuning allowed, I will however try and make it as open ended as possible and the majority rule.....by this I mean if the moajority of you want a certain car class or model or track....even how many laps and thats what we'll do!

Sounds like fun, sign me on the ps3 list.

Is there anyway of telling how much youre rating will go up when you buy a part, since i cant seem to find where to take of parts :/

Cars i got for the event:
- VW Scirocco 3.80 / BMW 135i (for the 6p.) / and need to buy another :P

Edit:
Further question: Times are set on quick race > time attack > zero opponents?

When in the upfrades sectionhighlight the part to swll and pres X you get what you paid for them so you don't lose any money which is handy as you only see the PP increase AFTER you've bought it, so you'll find your buying and selling bits to get it as close as you can to the PP

Times are set where ever you want but preferabley on the one you pointed out.uick race > time attack > zero opponents

Ok I've stuck 2 times up myself, you'll see from there PP that there not finished yet LOL I will sort out a 4.0 PP car soon LOL
