I'll try it again tomorrow.Car is at least in 4.00 PPs.Only 'factory' upgrade is vinyl 4,but that dont make it any faster?Maby I looked at wrong laptime,I put many on my paper.

Looks like the tuning battle is on guys few seconds in it, sure that will come down as the week goes on.
Actually, I haven't really started tuning yet, my times so far are purely based on the selected upgrades. I have been trying several different configurations (e.g. handling upgrades vs power upgrades) for the given cars to see what the effects are on laptimes. Out of those I picked the one that gave me the best laptimes. Now that I have those sorted out, it's time to start tuning.

The S3 handles great already, I don't think there is much to gain there, maybe a few tenths, or a second at most (for me anyway, the top drivers will probably shatter my laptimes by seconds as usual ;)).

The GT500 already handles very nicely, but it needs some work in the gearing, understeer and power oversteer areas. I think there's at least another second in there, if not more.

Cheers, I'm not sugesting anything sinister it just seemed superhumanly fast for that PP rating.👍

The time suggests a rating around the 6.0 mark. And with several cars to test for multiple laps and several laptimes to put down, a mistake is easily made. Made one myself too yesterday, but managed to correct it before anyone noticed. ;)

BTW, everyone knows that flame Vinyls give at least an extra 50HP. :P

Quick one on tuning for the race, ride hight! if you lower and stiffen the car be aware that you can go too far very easily, the result is a car that will ground and then bounce on some of the bigger bumps! trial and error realy but going just a little too far will have BIG effects! if you'r cars bounceing first off raise the ride hight, it should sort it out. The trick though is to know where the bumps are and avoid them unsettleing your car. my BMW is a trade off, theres two places on the track where it will bounce but I know where they are and can adapt my line acordingly, If however I take the car on another track which is quite bumpy......bounce city! the tuning is very tied in to the car physics!

I have something to add to this since I was hellbent on finding a way to get rid of the bouncing because only adjusting your springs to soft or stiff is not the only solution I found... There is a setting called bump stop or something like that which I adjusted and I found out that helps get rids of the bouncing by setting the amount the suspension travels... So if you have a softer suspension set up it helps to make this setting taller on front and rear. If youre running a stiffer setup you can make the travel shorter. I found tuning your suspension in comibnation with the bump stop you can get rid of the bumpy seesaw affect you get hitting big bumps on track... I've got the cars I have in the stable running REALLY nice and the bumping up and down is down to a minimum now.

Can you check that time is right for the Ford Focus RUFin, it's nearly 10 seconds quicker than the next guy to you in the leaderboard. :)

Drowe it 5 laps again just now.Best was 2.52.427.It just is that fast.I took away all upgrades, stock was 3.20,put them back again and its 4.00.No clitch I quess, looks 'leagal'.All wheels on track, all cones up.
It must be FF in FF/FastFinn in FastFord.

Can I change that Silvia to something faster,no point of racing with that.I cant tune it higher.

How long is this event going to go for?? I would like to join in but I need to get some new cars first... I have 3 now, all of which have been Works converted... once youve done that you cannot sell them back... So I need to get some cars in the stable for this event... grinding some more.. :P once I get the cars I need I'll be happy to race along somewhere inthe back

I did 2.57,4xx with Skyline 2000 GT-R,and it was about 3,80 pp and very bouncy compared to that Focus.Maybe the settings im using(clutch,ABS off)has something to do with that big gap?I know, putting auto clutch off means nothing, but still.Driving skills?? :)

So I need to get some cars in the stable for this event.
Some of the Tier 4 (or 3, I forgot) race/timeattack championships pay 80k per race and another 80k for first place overall. With two races in a championship, that's 240k in around 12-15 minutes. So you should be able to get another 2 million in an hour or two. I think that will be more than enough to buy and upgrade the cars needed for the series. :)

hey blitz and dutch- would you please consider posting one or two of your tunes? dummies like me would really appreciate it. even if you dont want to bother with opening up a shop, it is really helpful to at least have some idea of how its done, so i can know if i have done something completely retarded in my own efforts.

i realize completely retarded for one car can be just the right thing for another, but in general your examples have been really helpful for me with gt5p.

So far, I have done no tuning, just the picked the right performance upgrades (for my driving style anyway ;)). I'll be quite happy to post those setups for people to begin with. :) When I have three cars I like, I'll start the tuning of the upgrades.

I'm looking to join 👍

Just did a few laps in TT:

GT3 RS 9.98 - 2'33.129 -GTP_timeattack

Haven't done any tuning so there should be a good bit more.

Fast Fin.......:)
Yes you can change the car as many tines as you want, just try and give us a clue as to what your settling on as it's good info for future races.

Sorry for the all the edits in my last post. Latest TT time 👍

2'32.699 - GT3 RS 9.98 - GTP_timeattack

All times done to here, I'll update it again later if anyone adds some times. there seems to be an odity with the Focus based on the times, also the GT3 RS but I'll understand that more due to the tier it's in and what were using. This is the first race so a bit of a learning experience, future races will be a mix between one set car (full tune to a certain level allowed) and for open races Tier restrictions might be needed. Also expect some stock races where no tuning is allowed and it's down to the driver completly. Probubley a mix or all 3 of these cars for the next one. Maybe it's not needed once we see the final times after people have tuned there cars.

Oh and all you lot who haven't posted times yet, I apreciate your making my life easy having less to do on the updates of the leaderboards but COME ON GET EM IN! LOL

I guess I found the weapon of choice

Just took a bit of wing off the car and did a new PB in TT

2'28.431 - Porsche GT3 RS 9.98 - GTP_timeattack

After the first tuning round:

Car: Ford Mustang Shelby GT500
Rating: 9,98
EDIT: Laptime: 2:34'110

What car you looking for? I only have an S2000/Works, R34/Works and RX7 level 10... actually 9.97 or something but im going to use it for a level 10 race :) so if you have one of those I have tunes for you :D

yeah brock is a little strange, but as you can see he more than makes up for it on the track 👍

Hi, I would be interested in a few online races if there is still a free slot. I run some laps for TT:
4.00 - Ford Focus (3.99) - 2'51.732
6.00 - Audi TT 3.2 Quattro (5.99) - 2'47.474
10.00 - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX MR '06 (9.80) - 2'29.423

I don't think that Shift's PP system is any good as there are huge differences between cars.
