To the guys above: Make sure you have the Team Racing DLC from the PS Store. That might be your trouble.
As for tonight's races, I didn't experience much noticable lag and no disconnects. The only lag I did see was someone's car in front of me jumping around.
I can't seem to handle the Z06 at all with no TC :ouch:
Oh, and the Maserati MC12 is surprisingly composed with no TC. I had never driven the MC12 before that race and I really enjoyed it.
In the Road America race when myself and The Hog were at the back we tried to create a little battle, when the other went off the other person slowed down until they were back on track. That ws what I was doing anyway... I think the Hog joined in :)

I missed out on tonights race, I don't get off work until 4:30 and another 30 mins. or so before I get home. I will be on later tonight if anyone wants to play around.

Stupid thing wouldn't play for me! Every time I accepted the invite it says download data corrupt or something, and its not to do with my connection as I was racing online quite a bit today.

Was looking forward to it as well. Ah well, thats NFS for ya'.

I cant connect to host, never had this problem. Say I dont have downloadable content?? I hate EA...

EDIT; Maybe another host?
Looks like im not alone

Aldo's got it right. If I (the host) had known I could have disabled the DLC for the session and you wouldn't have had any problems. I saw your notes but just assumed it was an internet connection problem.

The DLC from the Playstation store is free. It gives you the Musclecars and the Supra as well as the Team Driving Add-on.

Also be sure your game is Patched to 1.02

NC_2_VA make sure your game is patched and has the DLC as well.

It stinks that you guys couldn't join us, but it's better to have the problems happen tonight than on Saturday.:)

Maybe it is, I haven't downloaded that yet. Will download it and see if it works this weekend.

Edit, just seen you post MannyMoenjack, will download it for this weekend then! :)

I had a slow down problem when you went under the bridge for the last 1/4 of Silverstone. All the other races were great, no problems for me at all.
I went well on spa, but that is my test track for T12's tunes, I have done many laps on it.
The stock cars seem to work OK with 9 in the room.
Did anyone else have any problems after the first race.

Manufacturers Car Test : Results

Aside from the fact that I drove like I had my head up… well you know. Anyway, from the guys who I could talk to, it seemed that the game ran considerably better in terms of framerate using the manufacturer’s cars vs. personal vehicles.
The Silverstone track seemed to have the most issues. Complaints of game slowdown around Abbey, Bridge and Brooklands turns were what I heard, and what I experienced myself. I was very pleased with the Maserati MC12 GT1 though.

The Spa race in the V8 Vantage had only a touch of slowdown for me, which was much better than the last time we raced it in League racing. One thing I did find out though… this game has a very imprecise idea of where the players cars are on the track. I rear-ended someone (Aldo or SteveO not sure which), but to me they appeared a car length or more in front of me! Also don’t believe the parking attendants when they tell you there are ample parking spaces on the Rivage turn. It’s just not true.

The Road America, Corvette Z06 race was almost without issues for me except for a bit of slowing around the Bridge area (Turn 6). SteveO clearly enjoyed the power and torque of the Z06 and spent most of the race in Drift-mode! I take no pride in the fact that I still couldn’t catch up to him. The showoff!

Also very few problems at Donnington GP, except of course, that apparently someone forgot to install brakes on my e92 M3.

So, what knowledge do we take out of this test? These are my impressions:

  • [*]Some tracks (like Silverstone), will always have slowdowns when there are more than 6 racers.
[*]Manufacturer’s cars seem to work better and with fewer disconnects than Personal cars.
[*]SteveO1965’s dream race is driving the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 at Spa for 20 laps.
[*]I’m reluctant to give up the personal cars entirely though. I enjoy the tuning aspect of the game as much as the driving.
With that said I’ll give my opinion for how we should format the Weekend races going forward:
Race 1: Manufacturer Car
Race 2: Manufacturer Car
Race 3: Personal Car
Set up in that way, if we do have connection issues with the third race and lose some people, at least they have been able drive two out of the three races.
Feel free to disagree, and voice your own opinions. Whatever it is, I’m sure we can come up with something that everyone can live with.👍

You can if your using the controller with the right anolog stick.

^ Yeah I know, thats why I dont understand why you cant do it with a wheel :ouch:

I think it because the logitech comes as a all rounder racing wheel as in it works out the box with most consoles 360, PS3, PC, and i am not sure if it fits the wii.

Great racing tonight guys, had some good laughs and good races thanks stevo for the giggles i had such a laff listening to you apologize every 2 seconds :lol: and sorry for any accidents i caused tonight.
I dont know what was wrong with me at brands hatch with the lambo i think it is because i am used to the works upgrade.

I couldn't believe 2 of the races, i had 1st place HANDED TO ME ON A SILVER PLATE and i lost it on 2 races rite at the end DAM was still really good fun.

NOW FOR MY REPORT ON THE TEST
i had a lot of slow down and frame problems in the test but it wasn't so bad it was unplayable it got a bit bad when i was bunched in with people but once i had got some distance it ran acceptable, lucky i didn't get booted so i am happy there, it was way better than last week.

I did have the same problem with the game freezing up like manny's did i hosted a nurburgring race between 2 or 3 of us and it froze but i dare say if i had tried it again it may have worked.
But in the races Mr Kemp invited me to i had no problems bar one, on the 1st corner on silver stone i would drop to second and if my wheel touched curb by the tiniest amount i would get a time penalty even tho i hadn't gone off track and it happened in 2 races.

So annoying

This format should be OK, if we have a problem in the 3rd race with slow downs or connection issues and some of us can not run or finish the race.
Run another race 3 with Manufacturers Cars.

Yes that sounds reasonable.

Setting up the third race in Personal Cars will require the host to exit the Manufacturers Race lobby and set up a Mixed Race lobby and then re-invite everyone. That's kind of a pain in the 🤬, but that's just how it is.

I've put the Car Selections for this weekend on Page 1 of this thread, but I'll list them here as well.

Nordschliefe Race : Manufacturer Audi R8 4.2 FSI
Brands Hatch GP : Manufacturer Nissan GT-R V Spec
Glendale West : Personal Car Rated 14 or less

LMAO Manny :) i could not keep that Corvette in a straight line even on the straights :nervous: Hog, Mrv, Kemp and the rest great races except the Hog kept chucking his self off the track on the last bend on the last lap :) i blame the Newcastle brown :)

Practise race.

I had no problems whatsoever, every race ran perfect for me.

I just had a thought today in that maybe we should appoint an emergency man that if my connection was unable to host the races this person could step in and host them for me, of course this would not affect there place in line for hosting a race.
Least this way the races wont be at a loss if something on my end cocks up and the races would be the same so any practice you have put in for those races wont go to waste.

Does that make sense it does to me but i am quite tired :lol:

Yeah, that's the wierd thing about hosting these League races... All of a sudden your PS3 or your internet connection starts looking like they may not be up to the task. I felt the same way.

So any volunteers? (I'd volunteer but my PS3 says it's tired and it wants an air conditioner put in).

Please Note : The Race Order and Car Designations for the weekend have been changed: (for the final time)
Race 1: Nordschliefe - Manufacturer Spec Audi R8 4.2 FSI
Race 2: Glendale West - Manufacturer Spec Nissan GT-R Spec V
Race 3: Brands Hatch GP - Personal Car Max Rating = 14

I'll volunteer to host if Hog has any problems. I hosted part of last weeks races and I don't think anyone had any problems, I haven't got everyone on my friends list, but others can invite who ever I can't.

hey MRB52 good games last night. Looking forward to racing you and bbcnascar again. I need all the practice with pro settings that I can get.

Can I.. join?

If you are a clean racer who can drive with Pro handling, no assists except ABS and can attend the Saturday 5pm EST races... I don't see why not. :)

My concern is that depending on who shows up this weekend, we may run out of available slots in the lobby. Since we try to invite the established members first you may get edged out this weekend, but it looks to me like with (now 17), members we can safely add a second lobby without impacting the quality of the racing.

So your answer is yes, welcome to the group, but you may have to wait until Saturday the 23rd to race. In the meantime I'll work on the best way to try to organize two race lobbies without losing my mind.

EDIT: Also I have to add to all, that if you plan on maybe showing up, or maybe not depending on: weather, good football game on, girlfriend wants to go shopping, having my nails done etc., let me know, because it's getting rather difficult to coordinate without having a pretty firm grasp on who will be there.

So.. that's next weekend? I think I might be able to attend. :) I race with Pro Physics and ABS on only. :D I'll ad you on PSN, Manny.

It’s clear that the League needs two lobbies for weekend races to make room for new members, improve game play and to make it simpler for those hosting.

I think the easiest way to do this is to randomly split into two groups each weekend. I can do this in 10 seconds in Excel and post the next week’s group composition right away. The people in each group will change every week and a host will be randomly picked.

Both groups should run their races at the normal time, and each group needs to have someone who can record the race results.

I would also recommend that everyone make sure that all the League members are in your Friends List, and hosts write down or print the names of the guys in your group so you’ll know who to invite.

While this isn’t a perfect solution it’s definitely the simplest and I hope will cause the least confusion.

Let me know if you have any questions, or suggestions.

(SteveO1965 let me know if you can't host this weekend...)

No probs mate i can host, everyone in my group who is not on my friends list can you send me a friends request.

PSN ID - SteveO1965.

I hope I'm in the slowwww group :). Well I guess just by having me in it, it will be the slow group :(

In the first two weeks I've finished the races in every position, from first place to last place. A lot depends on getting through the first few corners without getting tangled up with other cars. That won't be easy to do this week as all three tracks have tough first turns.

Sounds fun 👍

Thanks Manny for your work in getting things rolling.:)

Nice idea manny, the way this thing of yours is growing manny we will need 3 lobbys

we all have our good and bad times mate just how it is.

Just as a reminder for those without headsets...

I believe the host of each group tomorrow will have to re-set the lobby after the Second Race, to go from Manufacturers Race to Mixed Race. (Another of Shift's irritating little quirks) So, be prepared to get disconnected for a minute or two, while we resend the invitations.

(God! I'm starting to sound like a "Helicopter Mom")!

Looking good Manny!
Can't wait!
I need (read as want) a headset :(
I'll try and get one soonish.
