For now we have 7 confirmed testers for Tuesday

1. MannyMoenjack host?
2. darkos
3. HOG
4. Aldo001
5. arvore
6. OZR-MrB52
7. SteveO1965

C'mon people we need like 3 more and this would be like real life conditions test :sly: Ideal worm up đź’ˇ

It may be a good idea if i host a race after manny hosts the tester race, so i can test my Internet connection for next week.
See if the upgrade had worked.

I'll take part in the manufacture test, will get me used to this online lobby thing before Saturday :)

That'll be great mr_V. Look forward to seeing you there!

By the way, I've heard that if you buy a garage slot on PS Store it will restore your save file. I read this from several different people.

Edit: mr_V, do you expect to be there to race with us on Saturday? If so send a friend request to THE--HOG on PSN, he will be hosting this weekend.[/QUOTE]

Ok, thanks for the tip đź‘Ť

Count me in for Tuesday

BTW i will do some racing now if anyone wanna join. But only tier1 manufactor race, if not any of you host ..

That's a really good idea.đź‘Ť
Actually, if you don't mind me asking, why don't you host all the races Tuesday?

All I want to find out is if manufacturers cars run more smoothly and with fewer slowdowns and server kicks than our own cars seem to have.

It's not really even important which cars we pick as long as some high rated (MC12 GT1, Zonda, etc,) and some are mid rated (Porsche 911 GT3 or Aston Martin Vantage).
As long as we test it with eight or more people it should tell us what we want to know.

Would it not be better if you hosted the manufacturers race? we can then compare that to the race you hosted with our own cars, then let someone else try after that.

ahhhh stevo has a point that may be a better idea so we compare the two.

Up to you manny i dont mind which ever way we do it mate.:)

Sure that would work too, and probably be less confusing. Ok, back to Plan A. I'll host. :)

Just realised I haven't got far enough for tier 4 cars, working on it though :) so won't be able to race in that race tomorrow. I have tier 3 cars though so I'll be able to race the GT3 etc. If thats ok. If not I'll just wait until Saturday

In a manefacturer race you will play with whatever car the host chooses so that won't be a problem...đź‘Ť

I hope my Internet upgrade does the business for saturday because these 3 races are going to be so much fun.

I have never driven on glendale and brands hatch much but decided to pick them any way as there so much fun to drive on brands hatch with its fast and demanding corners that seem to come out of nowhere with out any warning.:scared:

and glendale because of its up and down left and right transitions such a demanding but yet fun track.:)

Ah thats good, I'm still in for this then if theres a space :sly:

Ok, I'll send you a race invitation. đź‘Ť

Brands Hatch GP is a great track, but you're right, turns one, two and four are tricky.

Glendale West is one I've rarely raced on, so I'll have to put some laps on it before Saturday.:)

I agree - great track selection!
The Nurb'... yes please!
Brands Hatch is a track I like a lot as I used to love it in the old Toca games :D
Glendale West is a track I have very rarely raced on, only twice as far as I can remember, so it should be interesting!

Looking at Saturdays tracks, what a great round this weekend.

Brands Hatch - Good track, did many laps on this track in the TT competition. A very hard and fast track.

Glendale West - A very good track, I hope this track will be included in the next TT. A very tricky track and will bite you if you don't watch it. With all the different variations in the track, it is a hard one to master.

Nordschliefe - What can I say, one HELL of a track, so many places to stuff up, love the track. It will be a long race though, did you realise that 5 laps will take 35 to 40 minutes to run.

Yeah, that Nordschliefe race is going to be kind of rough. If someone loses their connection early they might as well go and eat supper.
I rather think we should cut it to four laps, but I don't feel strongly about it.

Yea maybe i didn't think about the laps on the nurburg fully.
See i want there to be unuf laps for people to catch up if they stuff up and crash but 5 laps is to long i did 4 laps of the nurburg last night and my shoulders were killing me.

what do you think people 3 laps or 4 ?

And Glendale west isn't a track that i play much either but all my favorite tracks had already been raced apart from the nurburgring so i decided to drive on all the tracks in the game with loads of different cars and see which 2 a preferred and Brands Hatch and Glendale west just seemed to do it for me there both crazy tracks in there own way.

I think the track selection was great. No worries on that score. đź‘Ť Four or three laps of the Ring is fine I'll go with the majority on that point.

Not to change the subject but instead of making another post under this one...

THE HOG, SteveO1965, and I had a few races in a public lobby this evening (the typical mix of decent guys & punters to spoil it for everybody). The racers were from the US, UK and Australia which as SteveO mentioned made it quite a bit like a League race.

In our last race at Road America there were 9 in the race, using 14 rated cars. Predictably, I spent the entire race (after being punted into the wall), driving around in slow motion with turns feeling like gravitational “black holes”. I don’t know if either of the other two had the same slowdowns as I did, but I think I’d rather have a tooth pulled than race in slow motion again. It’s horrible. :yuck:

Yea me 2 but at least i didn't get booted out for weak signal again, and my frame rate was a mess at the beginning and then i got rammed off, but once i put some space between me and the rest it was only happening the odd time but as soon as i started battling with 3 or 4 other cars the frame rate issues started again.

Ok guys I switch from expericenced to pro on the game and have been practicing for the last 5 days or so with my perferred car the R8 (AWD). Everything was going good and I felt pretty good about it. So tonight I switched to my GT2 (RWD) and I could almost cry. I couldn't keep the thing straight to save my butt. With the race coming up Saturday I feel like I am in big trouble. With this being my first race I wanted to put a good foot forward and have a decent showing but now I'm scared. If a high power RWD car is choosen, I might as well fall to the back of the pack and get ready for the fireworks. Any advice would be greatly welcomed. I'm using the driving force GT wheel if that makes any difference. I would hate to bump people off the road due to my lack of skills with no TC. By the way I've added a few of you guys to my friends list, how do I jump into a game that you are playing? I got the ps3 back in Nov. I'm usually a PC guy. Thanks

For Nordschleife i would like to race 5 full laps đź‘Ť, no mercy no retreat no prisoners. This could be like like endurance 24 hours race :) ohhhhh i am so wait for this event and pray to not have any issues with frame rates

I was in the same boat you was switching to pro mode, it does taking some getting use to but tonight for one magical lap I turned a 138.8 at Silverstone with the Pagani. . Before turning all of the assists off my best was 140.9. It took me about 50 laps before I started really feeling comfortable in Pro Mode. I'll probable wait to get a little more consistent before I join the battle.

Better throttle control is your only hope mate, just take it slow dont try pushing it to your limits all the time let your mind get used to it you will pick it up soon you just have to stick with it and you will see the benefits.

It takes time getting used to pro mode but after awhile you will see your lap times falling, i find using a 4wd car helps but it is still tricky, sorry Manny, HOG but i bailed last night the punters were doing my head in :grumpy:

Yeah you probably didn't ... an average car tier 2 or 3 without upgrades does 7:xx m laps in the ring so 3 laps will probably implie a 22,23 m race i think thats enought,no? plenty of time to recover from any set back...and there is also a question of proportion with duration of other races-10 laps, no?-that usually go around for 15,20 minutes so i think 3 laps would be good, increasing the duration of the races will only agravate lag and connection issues...
We have to deal with limitations the game imposes...if we push it to it's limits in a lobby with many people from allover the world it's certain that there will be problems with people getting drop and frustrated...with so many newcomers,so it seems, and a full lobby keep it simple please...
About Brands Hatch GP it's a classic i love this track with all those offcamber corners, no mistakes allowed:crazy:
Don't remember that well Glendale...but i'm sure it's fun have to do some training there...managing to attend 3 weekly competitions in 3 different games is killing me...:sly:

NC_2_VA

The GT2 is a tricky car to drive fast. Although it's a nice car it's not one I normally pick for racing because of how twitchy the back end is with all that power. Like HOG said rolling the throttle on progressively is the key to being fast with those, or any powerful cars.

Probably what you are doing is getting back on the throttle too hard and too early in the turn when the tires have the least amount of grip to spare for accelleration.

The Driving Force GT is a fine wheel so no problems there.

Since you are new to the Pro handling mode, nobody expects you to come in your first week and run up front. God knows I couldn't have either. Give yourself a couple of weeks to get used to it and by the time Season 2 comes (February 6), you'll be fine.

As for accepting the race invitation while using the wheel... I just go into ONLINE -> EA MESSENGER. Wait for the invitation to come. It'll appear as a small checkered flag to the right of THE HOG's name on the friends list in EA MESSENGER. When that appears highlight his name and hit whichever button on your wheel is the Square to accept, then highlight YES to confirm and hit X.

We will let you know what cars we will be using this weekend no later than tomorrow morning so you can practice with them.

Hey guys thanks for the input, I'm really looking forward to meeting some good people on the game and learning a thing or two. For now the plan is to hang back and watch, and hopefully I can be competitive for next season.
