ah didnt see this so i am not the only one glad at that, its so annoying i am going to have to write them down on my computer in case it happens again, has it ever happened to you in between online races ?

One week it happened before the start of the first online race. I couldn't figure out what the heck was wrong with me, because I'd practiced several times. I didn't realize what had happened until after all the races were over. I think that was in week 1 or 2.

It's never happened between races though, so maybe you won't have to worry about that at least.

AHH i am glad at that DAM EA pull your finger out, just fully bought gt5 on pre order today for when it finally comes out.

Sorry guys but i can not committ 100% to tonight, now this would not normally be a problem but i am supposed to be hosting the race :( i guess we need a back up just in case.

I'm in your race steveo, I can host if need be. Anyone know what the lap count for the tracks are, did I miss that somewhere.

I don't know if that could help future racing but, don't you think that maybe headset's also could cause problems ?? Definitely this helps communication, it's way much better than regular chat but i think that might cause some problems for some of you guys. I just discovered something yesterday, and it's way to important to keep it for my self.

After first race on Ebisu i did turn ON my headset and immediately that might cause my disconnection. I suddenly realized that i did the same thing on Nordschleife Race in week earlier !!! But didn't think back then that this could be the cause of my disconnection until that happened again.

I think Darkos is correct on headsets causing more disconnections. My percentage of getting booted is a lot bigger when I use the headset...
 
yep headsets use bandwidth so...i'm going to get my ps3 hardwired again for tonight.💡
 
GTP Shift Racing League: Sunday Make-Up Races


Most of us have wives and girlfriends who amazingly don’t see the desperate importance of all this online racing stuff, so in an effort to make the League races a bit more convenient for everyone, I propose that for those guys who for whatever reason, can’t make the Saturday session that there be a Make-up race on Sunday.

However, this will cause a couple of potential problems.
We would end up with three winners for each race every weekend.
As the Sunday group will likely be small, there would be the temptation to opt out of the Saturday race in favor of running in the Sunday session where likelihood of earning a lot of points would be greater.

So I propose that the Sunday session should have the following stipulations…


  1. There must be at least three participants in the Sunday Make-up session.
  2. Those who got kicked out of the server in Saturday’s races may re-do the corresponding race on Sunday. However you cannot race on Sunday if you simply didn’t like the outcome of Saturday’s racing.
  3. Hosts and record keeping must be worked among themselves out by those who are participating in the Make-up races. It’ll be the record keepers responsibility to get me the Race Results and Fastest Lap Times for each race so I can tally the scores.
  4. The time the races will be run should also be worked out among those racing. Just try to get me the results by Sunday evening so I can have the standings together by Monday morning.
  5. Finally, the Sunday Races will earn ½ the points that the Saturday races do. This may seem unfair but it seems the best way I can think of prevent people from deliberately avoiding the more competitive Saturday races.
Please feel free to make any additional suggestions that you can think of.

If everyone (or a majority) would like to go to the single points system based on total track time per race that would be fine with me. It would even save me some work. We could start it that way for Season 2 if people like the idea.

Although I don't think anyone would deliberately skip a regular race either, I wanted to have some incentive in place to for people to participate on Saturday vs. Sunday.

Up till now if someone got booted from the server during a League race, or had to be elsewhere on Saturday they got zero points.
 
I m having real trouble trying to join online races. lot of disconnections from ea servers & sometimes saying me that shift servers are not available.... first time I have so much problems.... will try again before the races...

Do you want me to take you off the League rolls then? Because it's easier for me to make up two evenly sized race lobbies when I know who is, and who isn't planning to race.

Last minute family conflicts will of course come up now and then for all of us, but I have a bit less patience when it comes to guessing Jamie-C's "mood".

I know what's going on, your sponsor decides to stop fund your team, and you taking your time to go and look for another one for next season.

No apparently I'm not making myself clear to you. I'm saying that it would be easier for me if I didn't have to guess who was planning on racing each week. I assume people are going to race if they tell me they want to be in the league. That's all.
 
I've not missed a race from I started racing. I decided I didn't want to race tonight, I wanted to have a drink with my family as its my Dads birthday and I don't feel like racing and you say I'm going to get booted of the league!

What happened to your cocky 'Adios amigo' comment? Did you think I wouldn't see it?

If you boot everyone off because they don't want to race on one occasion then this isn't going to last long. If they drop out quite often, then yea fair enough, remove them from the league, but once off, I don't think thats very fair.

Ah well, enjoy your racing folks, looks like I'm not aloud to race any more due to doing something else this week.

Manny did not set up this series to benefit himself but to benefit us all i am sure his time is as precious as yours yet he spends a lot of his organising this league, so if you dont like it well all i can say is BYE.

Good racing mates 👍 Manny is getting pretty unbeatable...:bowdown: i'm sorry for HOG for getting disconnected in the 1st race while he was inthe lead...:drool: it sucks i know, already happened to me twice(in 1st weekend event),but since i've hardwired my ps3 during these events i didn't get these anymore. One more lap in R.A and you had reape me that 2nd place thats for sure...you were being about 1 sec. faster per lap...:cheers:

Does this quote sound like someone who even want's to be in the League? It sounded to me like you were tired of the game. Am I reading it incorrectly?

Now you come here full of rightous indignation, and tell me it's your Dad's birthday. Couldn't you have just said that in the first place? And if you didn't want to say it on the boards you could've PM'ed me. I certainly have no problem at all if you want to skip a week.

In spite of the attitude you are welcome to stay in the League with no hard feelings on my part. It's up to you...

I didn't come here intending to have a go, I made a comment to let yous know I wouldn't be racing tonight due to something else. And then Manny says he will bump me off the league. Its not as if I'm doing it all the time. I appreciate the effort Manny goes to organising this but if I'm honest I didn't know what I was going to be doing tonight until it came around.
