I tried going online but i couldn't connect.And the game is supposed to be out the 18th here.It is different in some countries.

I played the game today, and I am fairly impressed. But the idea of having to drive everywhere certainly isn't appealing to me, it gets tiresome very quickly. It's a pretty good game after my first impression of it. I'd buy it for myself, but HL2 and GT4 are coming out very shortly, and I still want to get Ace Combat 05 before I get another game (aside from HL2 and GT4 obviously).

do the settings that you adjust make much difference?

Not really.I haven't spent much time adjusting my car's settings cause there really is no need to adjust anything.The cars run pretty good on the standard settings.The only thing i adjusted was the Nitrous.I made it last longer.But for the other settings,i'm sure you can get better performance if you know how to set the cars up but the performance increase is really minimal and not worth the effort.

I called Gamestop and they start selling them today at 7. Just half an hour to go and most likley ill pick it up.

Played the online for a little while tonight. What a disappointment. Still lags too. The only nice thing is you can talk during the entire race now. Only 4 online.
The game itself it pretty good. I like the whole new layout with the city and having to locate the special shops for car upgrades. Im not going to buy this one. I will just make a backup of it and save the money.

Car sounds are similar and a little better than the originaly NFSU. They sound a lot more throaty and deeper tones.
I found something that a lot of people will enjoy if you were fans of Tokyo Extreme Racer 3, Kaido Battle 2, or Battle Gear 3. This game has the SP gauge when you challenge opponents on the street. I was very excited when I saw this last night. WHen you challenge an opponent in the city you have to catch him then outrun him. There is a gauge in the upper left corner that shows your distance from hime. You can drive anywhere and do anything you want to outrun this guy!!! When you get far enough your gauge goes all the way up and you win some good money!!
This is by far the best part of the game so far. I am really shocked how well put together this one is compared to NFSU 1. 👍 👍
The online is just plain terrible.
Ohhh I messed with some of the car settings last night, like the suspension, gearing, nitro adjustment, downforce, and tire settings and they do make a difference. I changed the torque curve of my ECU and the car bogged so hard when I hit 2nd gear. I adjusted it so it was maxed at 7,000rpm. So anything under that it had nothing for power.

Drive around the city and look on every road and every corner. There are things to unlock everywhere in the game. Once you find them they will appear on your map so you can find them later. Each garage will have something different for you to buy too for performance or appearance.
City is pretty big.
Physics are decent.

1. Severe lag worst than the first one
2. Only 4 online. That is just a joke these days. 4 is nothing.
3. The mismatch of players is not realistic. I was in a race with a guy that had a huge SUV so after the first corner I was so far ahead that it just wasnt enjoyable. I really like playing games online but I just did not have any interrest in the way they set the rooms up. I actually had more fun in NFSU1 online.

maybe its because your playing against people from aussie or somewhere far away rather than close to you.

Just got it today. Wicked game. Started with the 106 and just before heading out tonight got the S13 as well. Loving the whole idea behind the game. Sponsorship rules, racing people by driving up to them is cool, drifting is more fun now with the other cars. All in all, i'm sold on the game.

Funny how EA is one of the biggest companies in the world but cannot manage lag problems... Perhaps cause too many people are playing at the same time?

BTW, is X-box live better than PS2 online? I think that wouldn't lag as much as the PS2...

Been playing the game for a while now, but am getting in need of a new car. THe most recent car to arrive at the lot is the Celica. What comes next? I'm racing in my 240sx still and it's getting a struggle with certain races. Also is any car that's available at the mo better than the 240? (Hyundai Coupe, Nissan Sentra, Toyota Celica). I've got quite a bit of money, so tuning is no issue. Ta.

Umm, If I were you I'd keep racing with the 240 until either a 350Z or an RX-7 came along, I was racing my 240sx till I got an RX-7.

I just wanted to give an update. I finally got a chance to put some hours into this game and I just unlocked the Mustang GT last night. THat car is sick!!!! Sounds excellent too!! I am about 38% thru the game and I would say this is by far the best car game I have played all year.
It combines Tokyo Extreme Racer 3, Kaido Battle 2, NFSU, and a little of Gran Turismo all in one game. If you havent played this then you are seriously missing one of the best car games of the year IMO. 👍
I have also unlocked multiple unique items including wheels, spoilers, engine upgrades...
Im sure someone has beat this game by now but I sure am having a great time with it.
edit: Did anyone realize how helpful the dyno is? I gained over 30 HP by changing the TQ curve to to max out at 6,000rpm.

I beat the game for my first run and I was kinda dissapointed at the end... (In a good way)... I really wanted to race a bit more and felt lost... Especially since I finnished the game with only 71% done!! I'm guessing I need to find all the hidden races to accomplish 100%...

And I have a BIG BIG HUGE FREAKIN COMPLAINT!!! WHY THE HELL IS THE IMPREZA UNLOCKED AFTER THE GAME ENDS?! I WAS PLANNING ON DRIVING THE DAMN THING ATLEAST THROUGH HALF OF THE GAME!!!
