Yeah the cars can look ugly if you want, or not too bad (get the carbonise option and it sends the visual rating sky high without needing too much mucking about). I must admit I don't like the roof scoops. What purpose do they have? All the cars are front engined (shame there's no NSX or MR2 Gts).
That split rear wing is nice. I use it a lot. Well, if it's good enough for the Pagani it's good enough for my RX-8
Some of the widebody kits are truly ugly though. Still, I get a perverse pleasure in uglyfying my cars! Colour makes a difference. How about a pearlescent pink Pontiac GTO?
But I guess NFSU2 is more of a fantasy modding than arealistic one.
I think the car sounds are great. Sure, they're a little OTT when fully tuned but still, along with the Dolby Pro-Logic II THX (not too sure how THX is involved mind)it's probably the best sounding racer I've heard .
My only complaints are long loading times, not enough cars (why no good Hondas, BMW's etc?) and clunky menu. Not too fond of the Drag Races.At least they're short.
The tuning side I like. You can take the car out for a test run and make changes in set-up during the test. No need to go to-and-fro between the track and the set up menu, loading one then the other. Works well.
Still, once GT4 gets here it will start gathering dust on the shelf. Oh well!
I agree the game has it's bad points, but imo it's still good. Question though... have you played it? I thought it was going to be wack until i played it and was pleasantly surprised. And with the whole ugly thing, you don't have to uglify your cars. I've got a 10* 350Z that looks identical to Do Luck's 350, it's hot and def not fugly.
That car is just amazing. It's like driving a car with glue for tires. I dominate StreetX with that thing. I actually lapped a car in Stage3 before i had any of the stage3 upgrades. My IS300 just isn't fast enough anymore, if only it had 6th gear
