This should be a good season. I'm hoping the Coyotes do well this season, and Lababera can make up for the loss of Bryzgolof.

'Barbs is ok, but no where near Breezy. That's a big hole to fill, and I don't think the offense is strong enough to overcome another goal per game given up.

Well that Canucks-Penguins game was just brutal. The Penguins didn't look good whatsoever and neither did the Canucks. The last 5 minutes were the only half ways entertaining minutes of the entire game.

Nobody played really well. The bar we were at was quiet and nobody was very interested at all and you can't blame them.

Personally the season this year feels like it's going to be one very long preseason. I'm fairly sure the Canucks could finish first in their division by sleeping half the year so that's a top 3 seed pretty near guaranteed.

God Washington is a goal scoring machine. 7 games, 30 goals.

I'm just glad the Stars are doing well. We have a good lineup this year.

Let's check the standings.

Pittsburgh is 1pt ahead of us (Stars) but we have a better record and a better last 10 stat. We are playing way beyond my expectations I had when the season started.

Washington and Toronto lost (Saturday?) otherwise they are doing well. As is Chicago and Edmonton. Surprising (but welcome) that Minnesota is starting to gain some ground on Edmonton winning 4 straight.

So far this has been a good season to keep track of, lets hope when playoff time comes around we can expect more of the same level of competition. Well, that is everyone except Columbus... They just aren't playing very well right now.

*Looks at where the Red Wings are* *Looks where the Predators are* Ninth for Detroit and Eighth for Nashville.... Looks like the Wings got some work to do. But how about Edmonton and Minnesota in this early season? The young guys in the Oilers and the moves that the Wild made in the off-season have really paid off. And the Maple Leafs, THE TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS... are actually WINNING?! :D This has been very interesting first month of the season. --- Randy

Toronto might be someone to watch, eh?

That's the mother of all understatements. As a Jackets fan, I really thought that something had to happen - coaching change or trade - to shake things up. Especially with 4 days between games. I guess the GM and president are waiting for everyone to be healthy before making a move. I just hope it isn't too late when they do.

Well, hopefully what ever they decide to do doesn't hurt their chances to actually make a strong comeback this year. I like competitiveness from all of the teams, makes for better competition. :)

Anybody see Philly and Tampa tonight? What an embarrassment to the game on both parts. I can't believe the refs were instructed not to whistle down play, I agree with the ref whole heartedly there.

Not the best strategy for the lightning if they are hoping to sell some tickets down there.

I'm still nowhere in shock Toronto might make the playoffs this year.

As for Edmonton I'm highly doubting they keep anywhere near this pace but I'd love to be proven wrong, they are fun to watch.

Yep straight off the first draw. First 30 seconds of the game was them literally standing there. Childish on both teams parts.

You can't honestly tell me it's impossible to skate through a trap, I've done it myself more than a few times. Philly is trying to say they had certain systems they wanted to use so they couldn't break out and as for Tampa what sort of way is that to thank your fans.

Just got back into ice hockey to find that there is not 1 channel in UK that shows games -.- I have to stick to watching highlights on youtube, sickened....

Does your satellite provider show them at all in another package?

There is, Premier sports. However it's only available on Sky, you have to pay an extra £8 a month or £80 a year, which is too much for a channel that only shows Nascar, the NHL and a bit of football from leagues very few people are interested in.

You can thank the NHL for this with their new European TV rights deal which has totally ruined the coverage here in the UK. Now there is less live games on than last year, it is poorer value for money, it doesn't have a HD channel and it is available to less potential customers than last year. The NHL sold out for more money in the short term but long term this wasn't a smart move.

Even here in the States you don't get much hockey on cable other than your local team. Had to pay $170 for the Center Ice package so I could actually watch the Penguins and see more than 2-3 games a week.

God I know it amazes me how little coverage it gets just across the line. I played in a lot of tournaments over the years in the states and I remember the team always getting together to try and either watch a game or find some highlights and you literally couldn't.

I can watch all 82 Canuck's games on a basic sports package, one cross country sports channel has 2 games every Wednesday and then hockey night in Canada on Saturdays of course. Somehow with our digital package we got Centre Ice included for free. We didn't mean to and we don't pay for it, we thought it was a trial but nope its still here so. Plus highlights here are about 60% hockey and then 40% everything else and that might be generous to the other sports.

Yeah, the regular offererings here are pretty sad. So we get all of the Capitals games on the local sports channel (Comcast Sportsnet). Then with the HD package, extended cable, and sports package we get a game or two a week on Versus, and then one or two on NHL Network. Once NBC starts their hockey night later in the season that makes one or two games a week on broadcast tv haha. ESPN might show a few goals a week on Sportscenter.

I just watch it via internet streams. :sly: I MEAN, I totally pay for Premier sports.

Red Wings keep rollin' , haters keep hatin'. I'm in love with Jimmy Howard. :P

I don't mind the Red Wings. I still don't understand how they are in the "West" though.

My uncle moves to Australia about 8 years ago and he uses proxy servers to watch Hockey Night in Canada on Saturdays but that's all he gets. He used to be a die hard Canuck's fan but now he's a cricket and rugby convert haha.

I would like the Wings to be in the East....

Anyhow, that sucks :( We all know Hockey is better than those 2 sports! :dopey:

Avalanche up 3-2 going into the 3rd... Hoping the Pens can get ahead and pull out a win... That goal by Duchene was damn impressive though. Awesome move.

EDIT: And Malkin with the go-ahead goal!

Edit2: WOoo Pens went off after that!

Well Luongo is hurt. He got hit in the head with a puck but they aren't saying much as you'd expect. He's not playing against Chicago tomorrow with an "upper body injury" which everybody here is reporting as a concussion. No word of he is staying on the bench or if they are calling up the AHL goalie Eddie Lack.

Word has it that Sidney Crosby will return tonight to take on the New York Islanders. Not sure how effective he'll be, but I do wish him well in his return to the ice.
