Nintendo Switch

I would advise that you provide a brief summary of that post, without the links to the internal documents. I may or may not put that information in the OP depending on what I find.

I'm not sure sharing this may be too sensitive or classified to post on this forum, but there's a rumor going around concerning the development process of the Switch. Some of it may not even be relevant with the Switch that will enter market a few weeks from now. But if it's anything to go by, there is a lot to see

There's massive detail on specifications, developers' kits, etc.
What I'll do is wait for two weeks, play on my sparkly new Switch then come back and tell everyone what I experienced rather than reading what might or might not be true in that.

It is possible to do both of these things, you know.............I hear you can even do it without the wailing and gnashing of teeth! :)

15 days. Won a sports bet last night so managed to pay off a good portion of my launch bundle, great wee bonus! :D

So the Game store where I pre ordered is doing a midnight launch. Ages since I've attended a midnight launch. I'm very tempted!

They're out there.

And here's the UI:

Apparently the fellow who supposedly obtained the Switch early was stolen (also the source of the Switch start-up video posted above). Specifically, distribution employees stole them and illegally resold.

Ultimately, the guy gave it back to Nintendo. But he didn't know the Switch was stolen. However, the ironic bit is that he tried to sell the Switch on reddit.

That is insane! What a strange story...Having the device with no games isn't very helpful to anyone in the end.

I hope Nintendo have a Direct up their sleeve to go over the console features prior to release.

Switch teardown pics, though they don't shed too much light on the CPU situation (but they do bode well for repairability):

...but a purported leak from China possibly comes to the rescue, which suggests that the Switch's custom Tegra drops the 4 low-power A53 ARM core big.LITTLE configuration (keeping only the 4 high performance A57 cores) to make room for 512 CUDA cores, double that of a stock X1. If true (still just rumor... take with several tablespoons of salt), it'd put the Switch's performance a fair bit closer to the Xbox One than previously expected.

So, apparently, the clock speed and architecture have been leaked.

I don't really understand all of it, but according to the people on Reddit that do understand it, the undocked performance is comparable to two Wii U's (a few people do believe that it the performance isn't comparable to two Wii U's, but is slightly above one Wii U), whereas the docked performance is around 80% of what the performance is like on an Xbox One.

May want to spoiler that as NSFW, some curse words in the description mate. 👍

That's seriously impressive if true but to be honest, as long as I have games that run well and look lovely from a design perspective I'm grand!

I feel we really need a direct from Nintendo to iron some of this out. They're being ridiculously quiet.

Looks like the Switch will have a racing game at launch day, and it'll be none other than Fast RMX, the futuristic racer that was announced for the console during the January presentation. I am so, so glad i wont have to worry about getting the console without a game now haha. Shame the game isnt retail and is download only, but i'll just be glad to have something to play until RedOut and ARMS come out for the system :)

I was so happy to see this too! The Wii U version was great and this looks to be an improvement in every area.

Roll on next Friday. :D

Some previewers have been reporting problems with the left Joy-Con, No-one knows whether it is a hardware or software issue.

This is definitely a worry, seen a lot of stuff on this last night. Apparently the grip gives the signal a boost - wonder if the JoyCons are set to some power-save mode by default that weakens the signal.

Interesting to see how Ninty address it.

I think you guys might find this video interesting, he successfully recreates the issue with both the left and right joy-con.

Funnily enough that was the video I was referring to, GameXplain guys doing good work.

If it's both JoyCons it (sort of) points to a software related issue...if they have been packed with crappy BT modules though that'll be a gutter for someone like me. Holding the JCs individually was a big selling point of the hardware.

For me personally, I really couldn't care less because I'll be using the Pro controller anytime I play my Switch but it will be interesting to see if Nintendo can fix this with an update or if they'll have to update the Joy-Cons for future systems.

As pointed out by CNET, the Switch has some stability issues. Fortunately, it looks like the day one patch addresses it:
