I personally need a job too, to support my upcoming S14. (I should be getting it in a week or two.) It's too bad the SR swap is unable to pass emissions.

I agree. Despite being a huge Initial D fan, I agree that it's had a very negative effect on the automotive community, much like TF&TF had, mostly affecting inexperienced and ignorant people who were/are unable to realize that the TV series is a far cry from reality. The popularity of the Sil-Eighty is an effect of Initial D's popularity. I like the 180SX in its intended form.
In a way, actually, doing a Sil-80 conversion is similar to rice. It originated with serious drifters, who used the Silvia fronts to replace the more expensive 180SX fronts, when they were damaged drifting, and was eventually copied by poseurs whose only interest was impressing people and making them think their car was something it wasn't. In that way, it was very similar to the rice attempt at visually re-creating a race car. You might as well kick dents into your car and claim you got them drifting.
Still, I do think the Sil-80 is kinda cool looking, and if I was offered one, I wouldn't turn it down.

i have a RPS13 and i have been asked if i wanted to swap my front with other peoples S13's. some people think if they turn there car into a sileighty or onevia there automatically drifters, and like you said any damage they have they call it "drift damage"

I want to do the S13 front conversion on my 240SX coupe, which is basically the S13 with a 180 front, but I realized its not different anymore because everyone is putting the S13 front on around here, so now Im thinking of leaving the flip-up lights and being different.
yeah, my plan is to throw on an S15 front end in about 3 or 4 years, after the drifting craze dies down. for now i'll leave it as a 180. does anybody have 180sx windows or the JDM front turn signals that they wanna sell me? and i need some good wheels too...nothing bigger than 16's...
and around here, you barely ever see 180's with silvia fronts. i've only seen one, and it had an S13 front on it, not S15.

Yeah, the S15 conversion is gaining popularity in Japan. It's known as the "Strawberry Face". 15 = ichi go = ichigo = strawberry, therefore, 15 face = strawberry face.
As for the JDM 180SX parts, you may want to check out Nissan Infinity Car Owners' Forum, or even a drifting group like Drifting.com, you should find someone who knows where to get them.

Well, I posted a message, but I posted it as a new thread, it was meant as a reply. Oh well, it shows just how new to message boards I am, but you guys will get the picture when you read it. Oh, yeah the way the "quest" begins is through a temporary job at BMW in Greer SC by means of a dependent program. ($12.50/hr x 40hrs/week + overtime = major cash and the s14 that is to serve as the platform to greatness... hopefully) So, this is to be my first post for the Silvia Fan Club to replace the screw up on the intended first post.
